    Haha. I love it how I use the Warrant Scanner on huge trading vessels. They run off as if it scans their entire life, up till the day he/she was born. XD Pilot: "OH NO! I'm now wanted for stealing my Mom's cookies when I was 12!"

    just found this channel and instantly subbed when i saw how many tutorials you have. good job man
    as for a little question, is it worth getting a frame shift interdicter as a bounty hunter?

    @Birk Clasen... I can't reply directly but yes it's almost mandatory :)

    Thanks for the tutorial. When you became Wanted, how did you know that you couldn't dock at the first station, but then just the next, both in the same system, and Wanted shown all the time?

  • @Baronial10

    Sooo I see that it give you a little more info on the target but... does it actually get you more money for "wanted" ships? Like, do you make more than if you were to just destroy a wanted target? Or it just gives you a little more info?

    • @squidlybytes
      @squidlybytes 8 років тому +1

      +Baronial10 It gives you all of the bounties on the ship. Normally you only get active bounties for your current jurisdiction only. So it does give you more money, but you need to go find the place to hand them in.

    1 - Is there a way as a pirate to ask the target to drop the cargo before atacking? 2 - What happens if you attack a target that is clean at your current system but wanted on another? I believe that it changes if you are on federantion or anarchy system right? Thanks in advance

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  9 років тому +1

      André Oliveira As to point 1 - Not unless they are another Player... Or unless you use the Hatch Breaker Limpets. And as to point 2 - If your target isn't shown as wanted in the system *you're in* you *will* incur a bounty but you will also claim *their* bounty... It's all a matter of 'Is their bounty worth becoming wanted'... If it's only a few thousand then no... If it's tens of thousands then it's a no brainer! If you are in an Anarchy system then there is no authority to be wanted by so it's open season! Blast that scumbag into next week!

    I'm curious of your Viper's setup. Do you have class 2 beams and class 1 Multis? Or are my eyes just playing tricks on me?

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  9 років тому +1

      OddDreams101 I have Class 1 Beams and Class 2 Multicannons... The upper set of weapons on the Viper are the small set.

    • @OddDreams101
      @OddDreams101 9 років тому

      Okay that's why I was confused, my Cobra has the opposite setup so the beams look less intense.

    I've been playing in 'Solo' since launch as I thought it would be safer to get my feet under the table and get used to the game, I joined 'Open Play' this afternoon and had a go at my usual bounty hunting while hanging around a nav beacon, I have decided that playing in the 'Solo' mode is much better to build my cash as I was slaughtered by 'real' players even though I had only gained bounty's from AI ships, I was then blown away by non noobs for the fun of it, not fun for me, was I just unlucky? I think I need to save for a Cobra :)

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  9 років тому

      You could have just been unlucky... I played solo all the way through Beta and Gamma so I would have a better handle on the game. I've not tried the Cobra at all as I went for the Viper instead as I love the look of it way more and I like the fact that it's faster than the Cobra so I can get away if shit hits the fan... Remember if you can get away... do! ;)

    If it Claims CLEAN but comes up bounty on the scanner is it safe to attack them without getting a fine/bounty on yourself? Oh you just said it in the video..then what is the point of the warrant scanner? If I just kill all wanted ships don't I get all the bounty on them or do you actually get MORE if you've scanned them?
    In other words say you ran into a ship WANTED with 5k showing bounties. Say it had 15k hidden bounties but you DID NOT scan it. If you kill it don't you get the 5k + 15k anyways..therefore no need for scanner unless you want to screen your kills?

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  9 років тому +2

      If you killed that ship with 5K local bounty and 15K out of system bounties without scanning it then you would only get the local bounty... The scanner reveals all bounties on the ship and if you are in an Anarchy system then all ships appear clean as there isn't a local authority to be wanted by... So the only way to bounty hunt in those systems is with a scanner.
      Hope that clears things up :)

    • @NewYears1978
      @NewYears1978 9 років тому +1

      Commander ChaosWulff
      That does help.
      I am slow so let me make sure I understand. So I am ONLY hunting Wanted ships and I now have a scanner. Meaning say a wanted showing 5k would give me 5k, but if I scanned it and revealed 5k more in bounties and I kill I get the 10k.
      That's cool need to try that :) Thanks for the video and info.

    nice vid! just to know. How do you "use" the kill warrant without deploying the hardpoints? You just press fire while they are hidden?

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  9 років тому

      alferig101 I don't think you can use it without deploying the hardpoints... Every time I've used it the hardpoints have automatically deployed.

    • @alferig101
      @alferig101 9 років тому

      Commander ChaosWulff then, how do you use the kill warrant scanner without firing your weapons? I'm fairly new to the game and I'm a bit confused on this things.

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  9 років тому

      You have to setup the scanner to it's own firegroup or fire button... I have a video here that should help to explain the matter: ua-cam.com/video/oO1E9_sPtvg/v-deo.html

    • @alferig101

      Commander ChaosWulff thx a lot, that helped me out to understand the basics. I'm hooked with this game.... It's been some time since I said "only 5 minutes more" land played for one more hour xD

    • @alferig101
      @alferig101 9 років тому +1

      Commander ChaosWulff last question btw, is there any type of fire assist? I've seen some people track their enemy better with their weapons even though they were not directly targeting them. I just bought an Eagle class ship and have some difficulty tracking them, since I miss more than hit.

  • @fizban690
    @fizban690 9 років тому +1

    If you would have used that $365k one you could scan 4k from the target instead of 2k. The more you pay the longer your range is. All of them seem to be the same 10 second scan time.

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  9 років тому

      Ty Schade Aye, I have a better quality scanner on my Dropship... not sure if I was aware of the differences in the scanners when I made this video... It was quite a while ago.

  • @jacobitejake
    @jacobitejake 9 років тому +2

    Is the warrant scanner actually worth having though, does it still pay after you've paid the assault or murder fee and also become 'wanted'? or should I just stick to the standard scanner?

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  9 років тому +2

      The warrant scanner is great because it reveals any bounties the target may have in other systems and even to specific political parties... It doesn't always pay off but I have had occasions where I scanned a ship with a 15K bounty and then found 30-40K of hidden bounties... Ka-ching! But you'll always have to check your contacts panel and weigh if the bounty is worth the potential fine and/or bounty you may get in return.
      All in all I find the warrant scanner benefits you more after you have upgraded to a better ship... Perhaps a Cobra or a Viper.

    Just a quick question is there actually any point to have a kill warrant scanner considering it already tells you that they have a bounty like I watched the vid and was just thinking to my self what's the point in scanning if you can already see there wanted and on contacts it still tells you how much their bounty is

    • @i486dx2
      @i486dx2 8 років тому +1

      Had the same doubt.. This is what I learned elsewhere:
      - KWS allows you to collect all of the bounties of the scanned target, instead of just the one associated to the current system you're at.
      - KWS are specially useful on anarchy systems, where you can engage any ship (there is no "wanted" status there)

    I'm trying to claim some bounties because I just got started and I need some money.... I'm on a private server with more or less 10 friends all working together, non of us ever see any bots around.... Do you know where I can find bots like you do in this clip? Does it have to do with the server settings or anything in that matter...

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  8 років тому

      +Colin “crazy” I don't believe it's anything to do with server settings, the best way to find them is to go to Resource Extraction Sites... they are located around planets with rings... Not all of them however, you will see if they are there when you are within 1,000LS from the planet.

    • @colin9040
      @colin9040 8 років тому +1

      +Commander ChaosWulff thanks alot, I will try it out next morning. So I basically have to go to a planet with rings be as close as 1.000LS and look around for a resource extraction zone. (Sorry if I mis spelled all of that)

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  8 років тому

      +Colin “crazy” Games Aye, though not all ringed worlds have them... If there is an orbital close by it's usually a good sigh, There is some good hunting around my home system... There is one such place: HIP 93377

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  7 років тому +1

      The first station was owned by the controlling faction and since I was wanted with them I stood a chance of being killed, the 2nd station was owned by another faction and as such I wasn't wanted in there.

      I haven't looked too far into this but I would imagine first of all a Hauler as the standard jump range is 9.87LY (around 25+ after upgrading FSD) and then a Cobra (10.46LY stock) but I think the one you will want in the end would be the Asp Explorer... Obvious as it's even named Explorer ;)

    So basically the scanner is useless ??

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  8 років тому +1

      I wouldn't say that, scanning a target almost always increases the bounty payout on a target ship and with the changes to bounty collection coming in 2.2 it's going to be even more useful since you can then claim your bounties from any system with a 'shady contact'

    I am confused about the fire group, I saw your setting about the KWS , I have also FSD it shown as your setting, so I can see the FSD without deploying the hardpoint,
    but my problem is when I deploy the hardpoint all my weapons are also deplyoyed so I can not scan with the KWS, can you tell me how do you deploy your KWS without deploying the weapon so I can scan before I fired, I set the KWS the first group with number 2 the same like the FSD

    • @ChaosWulff
      @ChaosWulff  9 років тому

      John Slutskaya Short answer: You can't. Longer answer: Because the KWS needs to be set to a fire group your hardpoints will always be deployed... Which is why you need to set it to a different fire group/button not the SAME one as your weapons... I do have a fire group tutorial but can't link it at the moment.
