Thank you for the kind words :) I do what I can... and I'm happy people like my videos... I'll do what I can to help newer players to get to grips with the game as fast as they are able :)
Lots of good info that other reviewers didn't cover. Thanks for making it. I think you missed the Fuel Scoop (you did the Fuel Tank) and the regular Cannon (you did Multi-Cannon and Frag Cannon).
Thanks for the vid. I just started playing and find how you present information very easy to understand. Heading over to check out some of your ship reviews now. Liked and subbed!
Nice overview :) I've been living ED by proxy through twitch and YT but I'm strongly considering getting the game and a CH Throttle. Watching all your ED videos and enjoying them.
I would highly recommend E:D... Especially since within a year the game will be roughly twice as deep (or more) content wise... I'm glad you're enjoying my videos... That tells me I'm doing something right ;)
Commander ChaosWulff Yeah it seems to be going in a nice direction, makes much more sense to me than SC development wise. I love me some space shooter, i was recently playing Wing Commander and have been waiting for a good new one since Starlancer came out 15 years ago so it makes sense I'd get it. You make good vids for sure. I dabble in YT videos as well and yours are quality. You have a good title / splash screen which helps tie it together, quality video and sound, they're a good length and most importantly you have a good friendly voice so it all bundles nicely. The only thing I've noticed in some of your vids is that sometime you don't seem to have a script and you go off the cuff which leads you to ramble and lose train of thought. But that's a minor problem :)
***** Thank you for that man... It means a lot... But I'll let you in on a little secret: I've never had a script... Everything I'm talking about is on the fly... I tried having a script when I was doing some of my World of Tanks videos but it made me seem more robotic and practiced and I just didn't like the way it sounded... So I decided to do away with the scripts... if I mess up something I cut it and re-take the audio... And being dyslexic, I mess up a lot ;)
I didn't think mining with a Sidewinder is much of an option but I do have a mining tutorial already on this channel: ua-cam.com/video/nIpFaqOUORg/v-deo.html Hope that helps :)
Great overview... a few things I think that would have been nice to have answered... 1) Integrity ratings... there seems to be a letter grade for this in addition to the quality or class rating. what does that mean? 2) Thrusters seem to show an "optimal mass" rating.. how do you choose using that number? do you compare it's mass rating to the current or projected mas of your ship? what is the essential effect of being over or under the number? 3) there seems to be a consistent pattern in all types of components regarding their class/quality... in that A's are low mass best power... B seems to be better power than C but much more MASS... C is better power than a D but mass is closer to the mass of an A component... not sure if that is consistent but it would be nice to know if there is a pattern like that which we could have in mind when buying parts. thanks
+dregerclock 1) I googled a while to find an explanation but didn't find one myself. Would be helpful if anyone could still explain that. 2)Always go for a better optimal mass. Elite uses a calculation depending on the ratio between optimal mass / actual mass : for ratio > 2 your thrusters are at full effect (still upgrading to the next class/rank gives you better stats overall). Everything below 2 will reduce the performance(to a certain fixed limit e.g. you can't make a vessel slower than a certain speed...) until your ship mass exceeds the maximum mass. Aka Speed(Ratio) = Thruster specific value*Ratio + Minperformance 3)Parts follow these rules: rank E to A become more performant, but also increase in price by 2.5^x/2.8^x/3.3^x (depending on module). The E/C/A rank modules have the same mass(an exception would be shield boosters). The D rank equipment is the lightest(again same exceptions) while the B rank equipment is the heaviest. So overall: if you aim for distance, speed, boost, maneuverabilty go for D class equipment(except the main module affecting the stat you want to push) B class equipment usually gives the least performance boost(due to the weight tradeoff) and my advise would be to skip it and straight jump to A rank. However there are exceptions: You might consider using B class equipment that is based on ammunition to function a.k.a. shield cell banks, because they'll have more ammunition at B rank(overall you still get less shield regeneration). Hope I could express myself. It's late and my brain starts to cease working O.o. btw: I recommend you try this website: coriolis . io It's a webbased shipoutfitter that will clearify things for you and potentially gives you a chance to plan ahead outfitting and buying ships. There you'll be able to tinker with speed/boost speed etc. on your own and come to your conclusions.
Hi I just picked up the game and it seems most has changed. I enjoyed your style of tutorial (and your voice isn't annoying like some lol) so would you consider re-doing this with the newest version of the game? It feels like there may be more options and your perspective would be appreciated. Thanks I learned a lot!
Ha, I'd forgotten about this tutorial... so aye it'll need re making, will have to see when I can do so as only one of my 3 accounts are in habitable space.
+Commander ChaosWulff I'm so new that I have no idea what the significance of being in habitable space evens means lol. I'll keep my eyes open though. Thanks for the quick reply :)
just to add, that (+) sign in the top right corner stands for availability of items in the particular station for the selected slot had to look it up at the official game manual.. :p
Great video, one of the best I've seen on this topic. Would it be possible for you to just state your system specs as I'm looking to buy a gaming PC and would like some assistance. Thanks
+Commander ChaosWulff Would you mind if I sent you the specs of the system I'm buying? Just for your opinion. Of course if its a problem then no worries :)
+Nathan Cocksedge You could but I'll be honest: I'm no expert on rig building... I know just enough to get by... Other pack member on the other hand are way better at this than I am... You can join us on Facebook and pick their brains: facebook.com/groups/Wulffpack/
Just purchased the adder and I can't hyperspace jump - I assume I need to upgrade thrusters but is there another component that will also require upgrading? Thanks for the help in advance and the vid!!!
+JGphins It may be that you plotted your course before taking on cargo... As your route planner calculates the course by using your current mass... taking on cargo increases said mass and reduced your jump range.
Commander ChaosWulff One more thing, if you will. I notice you have more modules than my start ship. I've just started and I read about the scoop, but have no idea how to install it without replacing an existing component (which all seem kind of more important at the moment than the scoop). Do you have any idea what I have missed? :D
g0lanu Are you talking Fuel Scoop or Cargo Scoop? Because the Cargo Scoop is part of all ships and you can't remove it... The Fuel Scoop however will need to be mounted in an internal slot and you'll need to swap it for... For example: the Basic Discovery Scanner. As to the modules I have the same number of slots as that can't change... But I may have more choices as I am in an orbital with a good Outfitters as they aren't the same at every star port.
Commander ChaosWulff Fuel scoop. I didn't want to ditch the discovery scanner because I want to do some very casual exploring and easy missions for money. At least in the beginning. I saw some guys with a lot of slots for internal systems (and I'm not talking about the list of available upgrades), were they in different ships?
How could they make something that should be so simple / intuitive and make it so fucking mindblowing confusing? Jeez, they should learn from Tachyon The Fringe. There you understand it without thinking. and 38 minutes of this? Jeeez, well I will watch and see if I learn something Edit: and the menus look completely different from the newer version! AAAHHHHRRGGG
28:55 "I'm not gunna be right all the time [ *laughs* ] " _(When your getting ready for a lecture in the comments section about how you're 'supposed' to do it)_ 😛
Your videos are excellent. They provide information that the so-called tutorials in the game sorely lack.
Aye, the game has s 'little' bit of a learning curve... Would you believe I haven't played a single tutorial ingame? ;)
Best review ever. You defiantly have the knowledge and teaching skills that a new pilots need. I’m looking forward to follow your future videos.
Thank you for the kind words :)
I do what I can... and I'm happy people like my videos... I'll do what I can to help newer players to get to grips with the game as fast as they are able :)
Nice vid. Amazing how little information is out there for noobs like me.
Thanks a lot!
zaikoji Happy to help! :)
Lots of good info that other reviewers didn't cover. Thanks for making it.
I think you missed the Fuel Scoop (you did the Fuel Tank) and the regular Cannon (you did Multi-Cannon and Frag Cannon).
I have a video dedicated to Fuel scooping... But aye I should have touched on it here. Thanks for the input
Very useful video, it helps a lot when you start playing ED!
Great work ChaosWulff!

Edit* A discussion of mining would have been great, but I still learned a lot.
I didn't think mining with a Sidewinder is much of an option but I do have a mining tutorial already on this channel: ua-cam.com/video/nIpFaqOUORg/v-deo.html

Ha, yeah I just watched that. I was interested in how it worked. Another nice video.
Pin 1 Hehe, I aim to please ;)

+Innosos Just noticed a couple of the numbers are wrong but you'll get the idea.
+Innosos Thanks for the in-depth reply to my questions! Awesome!
Thank you for such a great video! Spent an hour watching it. Repeating the parts I really wanted to sink in. Thumbs up and a sub from me!
Liam McCall Thanks for the sub and I'm glad the video was of use :)
Very good video, has helped me out tons already as I just started playing.
Subbed and keep up the good work :-)

Kaluk - Happy to help :)
Alot of "uuuhms" and "uuhhhhs" but, generally helpful, I thank you Cmdr. C.W
+Jb Smit nevertheless, liked and subbed.
everyone does that , you just dont notice when you do it yourself xD
Great video! Thanks for posting it.
Thanks for the helpful vid bro!
Just found this vid. Very helpful, very useful....thx!
+Dan Potter you're very welcome :)
What is integrity?
Why does the title specifies assist on? How is that influencing this tutorial, it kind of escaped me.
Hehe, you're quite right... I've fixed the problem... Just for you :)
Commander ChaosWulff Oh, I was rewatching the tutorial, I thought I missed something.
Commander ChaosWulff One more thing, if you will. I notice you have more modules than my start ship. nice video, well done..
You're not really explaining Integrity, and how it plays out. Why some modules have it, and raise or lower the 'A'.
Other than that, great video.

Thank you very much for the video. it was very helpful and well explained. like and sub from me
Great video, very informative!
