Donnie is actually the one that got him into all this get him out the streets and that part where he says Donnie D's got the backup that's what he's talking about you know his brother from blue bloods
One of the best post-credit scenes in a movie is Mark Wahlberg playing a metal singer in the movie "Rockstar". They're getting ready to shoot an on-stage take, and the whole band, which is formed of actual real metal players (Zakk Wylde from BLS and Ozzy osbourne, Jeff Pilson from Dokken and many others, and Jason Bonham, son of Led Zeps drummer, John) all start busting out dancing to this song as it's played over the loud speakers, and Mark Wahlberg literally just walks off the set with his head down. :-)
@@bigbad69 Dude...no disrespect to him. He did walk off with his head down, but I thought it was for comedic effect. I didn't think he felt defeated or insulted. Although, there have been online tabloid things that said he was pissed off. But he's always maintained he wasn't, and laughed after.

Yes my friend, all of us olds knew him as Marky Mark way before he became an actor. His older brother was in the famous boy band, New Kids On The Block. Donnie Wahlberg is also an actor now. Mark did some modelling for Calvin Klein cause he had the good abs and then his career transitioned into acting. If Justin Bieber becomes a full time actor, he would have the same career path as Mark.
@VJ Donnie also (wonderfully & convincingly) plays Vincent in the opening scene of M Night Shyamalan’s The Sixth Sense, starring Bruce Willis. No matter how many times I watch the film or downright stare at the scene, he is unrecognizable!!!
@@howrued1500 All I remember about Donnie was that I was MADLY in love with him when he was in NKOTB. Ohhh, the wet dreams he gave my teenage self. Funny enough, Mark never did it for me, I was only obsessed with Donnie.
Right? I always knew Mark Wahlberg as Marky Mark and Donnies brother from New Kids on Block. Good Vibrations was a banger back in the day. Hear it playing then you hear VRRRRRRRP from people rewinding the cassette.
The Best part of this song is Loretta Holloway singing, “It’s Just A Good Vibration, it’s just a sweet sensation”, and the piano playing. I feel the same way now as I did in 1991 when it came out.
I lived through this era so this song was actually how I was introduced to Mark Wahlberg. He was originally supposed to be a member of the boy band, New Kids on the Block, along with his brother Donnie, but Mark had legal issues that prevented him from being in the band. He said "Donnie D on the back up" during this song in reference to his brother, Donnie, who co-wrote and produced the song.
Legal troubles-I heard that he was wrapped up with a gang and his brother was showing interest and that’s what turned him around. Was that gossip-I too grew up with Marley Mark 😂🤷🏻♀️
@@ravenwalker9225 You're correct. I didn't want to go there but that's exactly what it was. He and his friends would beat up and throw rocks at black kids. Kind of ironic seeing him with the Funky Bunch, isn't it?
"Legal issues." That's one way to explain how he enjoyed terrifying black children, chasing them screaming the N word. Didn't he beat an old Asian man up also? I wish I'd known about that back then.
Aaahhhhh!! Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch!!! Bringing back some good memories!! Back to dem “LL Cool J” days 😁 Thanks for this!! ~Pentaholic from Louisiana 🐊
My dad and mom owned a skating rink all through the 90s and this song was played all the time... This song got every body on the floor. And every Friday and Saturday nights the place was packed! The fire department was coming all the time to inspect the capacity as we would go over max capacity of the skating rink.
This is pure layer building. Everyone finds a layer to grove to as they are added; the bass boom, the piano, the female voice, the 2 step beat, the ohh ohhs, the inclusiveness. Yep for a couple of minutes Mark Walberg made us dance. 😂
I find it hilarious when people discover this. I’m old enough to remember his start modeling underwear and music. I heard he doesn’t appreciate when this comes up. Shame really. He needs to own it.
He started singing around 19, I think, and he got recruited to model Calvin Klein underwear, in his early 20s he tried to be a tough bodybuilder/rapper who modeled underwear and made exercise videos! By 25 or so he started acting and he got some really great acting roles early on. It was shocking to all of us that he could act. But by his upper 20s it was undeniable that he could act and his grown-up image emerged, his thug image disappeared into history.
*He was also a Calvin Klein underwear model back then. His brother is Donnie Wahlberg who plays Detective Danny Reagan on the TV show Blue Bloods.. and he was/is in the boy band New Kids On The Block".*
Love this song by Mr. Calvin Klein himself .. good ol’ Marky Mark!! Whoop! Mark modeled for Calvin Klein in 1992. His first movie role was a small part in The Renaissance Man 1994. The following year he was in The Basketball Diaries & has worked steadily ever since! Great actor!!

He also was a Calvin Klein underwear model. He also was an original member of New Kids On the Block but he wanted to do a different style then the direction New Kids were taking
You youngins only know Mark Wahlberg the actor but mark Wahlberg had a career in music before he ever pursued an acting career. And he was the heart throb for Calvin Klein commercials back in the day's. His career spans back a few decades. He was also a great dancer.
Mark Wahlberg is one of the original members of New Kids On The Block before Joe McIntyre. His Brother is Donnie Wahlberg from New Kids On The Block who is also an actor on Blue Bloods

Interesting fact; I was an extra in a movie with Mark Wahlberg, filmed in here in Boston. It's called "Patriots Day". (about the Boston marathon bombing.) Anyway, one day while on the set, (and in between takes), another one of the extras yelled out "Hey Marky Mark". That person was quickly removed from the set. "Wildside" is a great song. It was a totally 90s vibe. I'm glad to see Mark Wahlberg has grown up. He was behind bars etc before he was even 16. Got involved with the wrong people, no parents around in the inner city of Boston and did some bad things. But a Priest mentored him and pulled him out of his ways. Its really a great story. Now he is a very devout Catholic, family man, and movie star. Never went back to jail again. God will do it.

@@swaggindragon370 Yeah it's too bad Loleatta is almost forgotten. This line in the chorus of Good Vibration is actually sampled from her 1980 song "Love Vibration". Her work was sampled many times by groups who refused to give her credit. Great that MM and the Funky Bunch did the right thing and gave her credit and a spot in the vid too. Martha Wash is another power singer who had to fight to get credit for her vocals. In her case, bands used her tracks but then had some slender model lip synching to them in their vids.
I saw him in concert back in 91 or 92. His brother Donnie is a member of the New Kids on the Block. Mark was a Calvin Klein underwear model and he was known for dropping his pants down ring concerts. Definitely need to check out Wildside and I Need Money.
Your smile just got bigger and bigger as you watched this. Glad you liked it. Super great song. Yup, he started as a singer, rapper, dancer. Movies and TV came later.
This put Mark Whalberg and his brother Donnie Whalberg on the map!! He is still with his high school sweetheart wife and all around just good people!! His brother Donnie became a part of the boy band New Kids On The Block and now is very popular in the Blue Bloods series.
This was a crazy time for music, we were getting Marky Mark, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice ECT. The changes some of these guys made were for the best.
Mark and his brother Donnie co-wrote this song to get Mark started into the music industry as well. Big brother Donnie had already some experience with music related stuff, and he wanted to try and learn every instrument possible, like f ex drumming. Many called Mark the white LL Cool J back then,as they both had pretty much the same swagger and how they brought it in theyr music videos. Funniest name in the Funky Bunch easily goes to Hector the Booty Inspector 🤣 They have a few other music videos available: Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch - You Gotta Believe (seriously needs some remastering or re-uploading as the resolution hasnt aged well on UA-cam), Marky Mark And The Funky Bunch - Gonna Have A Good Time. When Ellen asked if Mark would ever bring back Marky Mark,he surprisingly answered: YES!......under the right circumstances. Lets say there was ever a future charity event or similar,he would defintly bring Marky Mark back. Donnie and Mark were the original first 2 members of New Kids On The Block, but as Donnie said: Mark would rather go play basketball then to do the typical boyband stuff. So Donnie promised him that if he ever wanted to do something by himself,he would help him out. And sure enough,Donnie produced like 10 out of 11-12 songs on the album or similar. Multi talents the both of them!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching you listen to this song for the first time. All the girls were in love with Marky Mark in the day and many still are today ;) He hasn't changed much.
man this brings back memories, this hit really hard my senior year back in the day and they played this at every dance at the high school. It was pretty big on Mtv too, but of course this was before Marky Mark, became the actor Mark Wahlberg. his older brother was in New Kids on the Block, so i'm sure a lot of fans thought Mark is the "cooler, edgier" brother. But, who knew that both of their real talents was in acting..
Yes, he is multi-talented..he was actually asked to be in New Kids On The Block..then he declined, but convinced Donnie to try out..love all the Wahlburgs..
as a child of the 80s, my crush was on donnie and mark.. I keep forgetting there are people in the world that don't know that they were both singers/rappers before they were actors. =D

It’s called cosplay. Much love to one of the greatest voices, Loleatta Holloway. R.I.P.! She was an artist with a catalog worth exploring. Queen!
It's her song, really...she makes it. Without her there's not much to it. But of course it was a huge hit and we had fun listening to it back in the day
Mark was a Triple Threat back in our day!
The 80s were great ,where were you! We all got along this is my favorite backup singer of all time!
I still call him Marky Mark all these years later. It's still weird that he's and actor now.
He was in a boy band back in the day. Talented boy... Talented man
This was a very popular song. I remember when they used to play this song on the radio all the time in the mid 90’s.
He was a Calvin Klein underwear model around this time, too, I believe. This song was a hit and maybe one other? Loved your reaction
STOP IT...LMAOOO...Your first reaction to this song was HILARIOUS...your like WTF..BUT you couldn't help getting into it...LMAOOO Welcome to when they made good music ...Damn I miss those days!! luv it
This is a very good song ! Arguably one of the best tracks of all time. And he is a one hit wonder
It's always entertaining to see people discover that the serious actor Mark Wahlberg used to be rapper Marky Mark. I loved this song when it came out and had a huge crush on him. Great reaction.
That's Loleatta Holloway blasting the power vocals on the chorus.
I thought it was missy elliot thanks for the info
@@swaggindragon370 Yeah it's too bad Loleatta is almost forgotten. This line in the chorus of Good Vibration is actually sampled from her 1980 song "Love Vibration". Her work was sampled many times by groups who refused to give her credit. Great that MM and the Funky Bunch did the right thing and gave her credit and a spot in the vid too. Martha Wash is another power singer who had to fight to get credit for her vocals. In her case, bands used her tracks but then had some slender model lip synching to them in their vids.
Wow…she is a Powerhouse!!! Love her voice!❤️❤️❤️🔥❤️❤️❤️
She is spectacular❤
She's the real protagonist of the song.
This song along with Wild Side and Money were Yo MTV Raps staples. Arsenio used it to promote his show.
Also underwear model at this time lol
He was almost in NKOTB. HE'S A GREAT ACTOR!
He was a Calvin Klein underwear model in the 1980's, started in music and moved onto movies. He use to be on all the NYC public buses modeling Calvins
I was bouncing in a club when this song was a nightly play. Great times back then.
This was a crazy time for music, we were getting Marky Mark, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice ECT. The changes some of these guys made were for the best.
I remember dancing to this song in the clubs back in the 90's. Awesome times, baby!
The line "it's Donnie D on the backup" is a reference to his brother Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block who was also his music producer.
THERE'S THAT SMILE 😁!!! I'm SO happy to see it today! Hope you have a wonderful rest of your day, Adogg!
Funniest name in the Funky Bunch easily goes to Hector the Booty Inspector 🤣
They have a few other music videos available: Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch - You Gotta Believe (seriously needs some remastering or re-uploading as the resolution hasnt aged well on UA-cam), Marky Mark And The Funky Bunch - Gonna Have A Good Time.
Multi talents the both of them!
he was also in New Kids on the Block back in the late 80's before even the song you just watched....yes he very talented.
OMG, I fell over and died on this, Wildside is a good one, have to see if you reacted to it. Subbed, your face expression on this is EVERYTHING, LOL!
Sounded, looked and moved good. Thank you 😉
Yup....we knew him as Marky Mark in the 90s. His music, especially this one, was popular too.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching you listen to this song for the first time. All the girls were in love with Marky Mark in the day and many still are today ;) He hasn't changed much.
Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch was one of the best boy bands! His brother, Donnie too. His was called New Kids on the Block 😉
man this brings back memories, this hit really hard my senior year back in the day and they played this at every dance at the high school.
“Walk on the Wild Side” is another Mark Wahlberg hit. “I’ve got The Power” by Snap is from the same era and has a great vibe
I've Got the Power and Rythym is a Dancer are two good ones from this Era 🥰🥰🥰
@@juliewhite7469 you should check out "Gonna Have A Good Time" by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch (video is on UA-cam).
Great song to me!!
omg, the look on your face at the beginning, I'm howling :P :P
I loved this and have to admit I really did love his Calvin Klein billboard! His movie "Invincible" is one of my all-time favorites.
Yes, we ALL loved those Calvin Klein ads!! They're still some of the best looking ads ever
I remember that big poster/Calvin Klein ad. It was nice.😍 I love his whole vibe.
as a child of the 80s, my crush was on donnie and mark.. I keep forgetting there are people in the world that don't know that they were both singers/rappers before they were actors. =D
New Kids On The Block reformed in 2008 and have released 3 albums since then.
They released a single this year "Bring Back The Time" by New Kids On The Block ft Salt N Pepa, Rick Astley and En Vogue ua-cam.com/video/ulJBJYie0l8/v-deo.html
This was a hit in 2008 "Single" by New Kids On The Block and Ne-Yo ua-cam.com/video/US5fXXiWjSk/v-deo.html
He still is a body builder
Yep he was Marky Mark to me before his picture debut. He has always been a in good shape. He still is jacked.
Thanks for taking me back to when I was 12. Actually Mark started off as a Calivn Klien model.
He has a load of songs. He has a full album.
I had the biggest crush on that guy and I remember when that song came out it was so popular girls were going crazy over him besides me 😂
There were a few songs for the Funky Bunch, but Good Vibrations was their biggest hit. And for good reason. I love it. Music was his first love before acting.
2:04 Hahaha ! Like "W T F!?!" 🤣
Welcome to one of the songs of my childhood! I was 12 when this came out and heard it all over the radio! 😁
The look on your face is priceless! Yes that is Mark Wahlberg the actor. I grew up knowing him as Marky mark!
It’s kind of a one hit wonder for them but it was a catchy song. Enjoyed your reaction!
This song always makes me feel good!
Oh yes! One of my workout songs, back in the day. Love this. Peace and happy blessings.
You Gotta Believe and Wide Side are the two other records he put out from this album.
Early in the careers of Mark and Donnie Wahlburg……..we heard this everywhere……❤️🎼🎶🎶❤️the dance moves in the video tho……😁
I got to briefly meet him and get a pic when he was headed onstage at Hershey Park in PA. I knew back then he was going to be something big!
The woman singing I think is what sets the song off....in a good way. Her voice is great! I hit the like button and put it at 999. Need more likes out there
This one always gets me moving!
I’m so glad this popped up on my channel to watch. I have not heard that song in years! His brother Donny (who has also acted), was a member of New Kids On The Block as well.
