Your instructions were incredibly clear and repeated at the perfect time throughout your tutorial! I've been trying to find that for years!!! I'm 81y/o and have been crocheting for about 75 of those years. My great aunt started teaching me crochet when I was 6 and I contunued off/on from 14 through 70y/o and almost daily since then. I can't remember ever having such great clarity from anyone during that stretch of years! I am so very amazed at your teaching abilities and I needed to tell that! I normally do not comment on whatever I learn on TV & UA-cam but you are a "had to" teacher. ❤ I was searching for something to make for myself and tripped into your channel today. I subscribed as soon as your tutorial was done and am excited to scroll through the rest of your channel! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!🎉

I live alone and recently started watching your tutorials. Your UA-cam channel led me to your website.
    Epic dedication.
Personally, I am 54 and have been crocheting since age 11 and knitting since age 14. The granny square was my first project at 11.
This year, I want to learn to make this sweater because the granny stitch goes so quickly and this looks fun! It's really cool to see you keeping the Boho hippy-ish look Alive and Vibrant. It almost makes me feel young again as a 70's/80's kid.
I appreciate all of your tutorials and your enthusiasm for the Craft.
Low-key jealous of your Yarn Room/Studio.
Kelsie, thank you for the energy and passion you put into what you do! Wishing you continued success.

It's so refreshing to see someone weave in so securely. I do the same.
It is so frustrating to see many videos that show little to no weaving with a magic circle.
Beginners then take that as gospel and cause themselves misery when their work falls apart.
I spend so much time talking about this in crochet groups. It's important to teach well. So, good job.

You can add rows by adding rows to all but the sleeve section of the hexagon. You simply add rows to the front (Where the ribbing will go), the back, and the bottom. It looks nice being added to all at once.

Hi Kelsie! I am almost finished with this project! I started it a few days ago and it's sooo quick to make! I did make a few changes to the collar and did a row of granny stitch around the whole thing for consistency, making corner clusters at the points. I also used the ends leftover on the collar to sew down that last row at the lowest point and the one in the back center. I'm now doing my final bottom rows! I'm so excited to show it on Instagram. I'll be sure to tag you! Thanks so much!

    • @pajci0113
      @pajci0113 Рік тому +1

@@lilawilliams5623 I watched another video to do it.
It's kind of hard to explain. You begin a double crochet in one of the spaces and pull through only two loops. Then you go into the next space and finish the double crochet in there. Then you add another double crochet into the same space to make it a "cluster" of three. Make sure to alternate sides that you decrease so your sleeves are even!
I think it's a pretty normal double crochet decrease so you could probably just look up how to do it.

You can start doing a decrease between the first two clusters of each round for the sleeves after you get it the width you want. so yiu decrease by one cluster each round till it reaches your wrist area, then you can add a ribbing. There are some tutorials on youtube for the ribbing for the very bottom❤ hope this helps you!

I went to Micheals and bought 3 of these Caron Blossom Cakes hoping it would be enough. The only thing I would change is to use a half double crochet when joining rounds. This way, your crochet hook will wind up in the middle of the space instead of all the way on the left-hand side of the space. Then you won’t have to go backwards into the space in order to start a new round. With the half double crochet, the granny clusters will wind up in the middle of the space. Now that I see at the end of the video that a little less than three cakes were used, I am going to try to make this same pullover sweater. Thank you for the tutorial.

I’m here after completing this tutorial and I have to say - WOW I actually made my first sweater and it really wasn’t *that* difficult.
Thank you for an easy to follow tutorial.
    For everyone here:
I made mine using bernat velvet, and a 9mm hook.
My thoughts on this choice: the bernat velvet made such a cozy sweater BUT I should have used a smaller hook for sure. I used a 9mm bc it’s what I had on hand, but I think the stitches ended up so stretchy (and with the yarn being so heavy) that it made it difficult to get correct measurements on the front and back panels. I ended up frogging quite a bit of my work.
For heavier yarns, go lower on the hook size to keep the stitches tighter to account for the stretch due to yarn bulk - I’m a newbie so maybe this would be obvious to a more experienced crocheter, but now I know…and if you’re reading this you know too ❤❤❤
Thanks for teaching us this cute pattern kelsie! Can’t wait to make more.

Here's a tip for when you want to start in the center of the chain space (which is my preference): join with a sc or hdc instead of chaining and slip stitching. Slip stitching brings you to the far end of that space and it actually makes that space ever so slightly larger than the others.
Joining with a sc (for one chain) or hdc (for chains) (and dc for 3 chains, etc) keeps the size, makes corners that are more squared off and, most importantly, lands you right in the center of the space so you can start that half of the corner.
Once you start joining with stitches, it is a game changer.
P.s. this yarn is perfect for this top and the finished product reminds me of the serape pullovers that were really popular in the late 80s and early 90s.

Hi. I stupidly forgot to count my rows while I was making the first side and am now worried I’ll make one side too small/big. Is there a way to accurately count the rows after it’s put together? I’m a beginner!

count from your magic circle in the middle. that's your first row. then you will count every cluster going up until you reach the edge. these clusters won't be one on top of the other they kinda go diagonally since you crochet into the spaces between if that makes sense. lmk if I should explain it differently :]

I am curious if there is a way to add a hood to this piece. The neckline construction concerns me for this but I really think a hood would be a wonderful addition!

I don’t know what I did wrong but the end of my row doesn’t end up being on a corner but on the next Space between the double crochet clusters.. Seems to be working though 😅! I Hope it will be end up working fine cause I love this design si much !
Sorry english is not my first language !

I dont mean to be obnoxious, but do you sell the pattern for that gorgeous orange (red?) and white crop top that you're wearing (42:59)?

The pattern is the colosseum crop from edsfart on Etsy!

I love your content, and I try to watch everything you post. I haven't caught up on your older stuff, though. Keep up the good work! 👏

    Hi, Loved the tutorial.
I was wondering if you had a pattern for the top you are wearing at 43:00?
