I flew a 1977 M20J back in the 90's. Only things I didn't like were having to switch fuel tanks, and it could be a little difficult to start with a warm engine and hot weather. And the flap switch was a little annoying. I've learned that since that time, many people have removed the ram air door, since it barely makes a difference, and has the possibility of getting stuck (as some have). That plane was so sleek, that it wasn't super easy to slow down. Thankfully it had speed brakes. It was real easy to make a smooth landing in that plane. I just read that some Mooney (and Piper) owners have having fuel leak issues because of the new G100UL fuel.
First of all... So sorry for your loss. Loved your tribute. I have no doubt that you will make him proud. You improve SO much every video. I typically drop everything as soon as I see the notification for your uploads. Can NOT wait for this charity footage and to see the Mooney in action! Lastly, I leave ya with a question: Maybe this will make a good video too 🤷♂ What are your pros and cons of high wing VS low wing aircraft? Have an awesome weekend Luke!!!
Very informative and great video! I just recently purchased a 1985 Mooney M20J and absolutely love it! I just started a UA-cam channel in which I use my Mooney to fly cross-country to repossess vehicles.
I think it's not totally one-piece like people think it is. It's actually 2 spars riveted together in the middle, spliced, but we say it's one piece in the sense that unlike PA28s, they can not be removed as easily one by one.
RIP Skip Little comment - I felt that for a walk around video, you didn’t actually walk around and show the entire plane. I found this video because I was looking for interior tours, but you only showed cockpit. I’m also curious about back seating and storage. Other than that, great video. Well produced! 👍🏼
Gonna miss Skip. He was the best! Great tribute. Thanks showing off our Mooney!
Thanks Doug! He sure will be missed.
People like Skip make this world a better place.
They sure do. He was an extremely influential person in my life and many others!

Thank you!
Could have mentioned the pushrods for controls and the one piece, tip to tip wing spar.
