This is a great video and representation of the Mooney! I just purchased a Mooney M20J and love it! I started a UA-cam video where I use my Mooney to repossess vehicle across the country.
My friend has a M20 and I love the feel of the controls compared to 172/182s. I love my Cessna but, the Mooney's controls have a tight feel with very little input on yoke to make the plane do what you want. Thanks for details on IFR approach. Another friend just updated his 172 with same autopilot, G5's, transponder and audio panel but, he got the 750xi which is very nice.
Another great video. Those planes are truly a ton of fun. Awesome job demonstrating the use of the automation and reducing your workload. That’s definitely a sweet avionics package.
Grat video.. Just a correctionthough. The engine is not the same as the one in the new C172. The Mooney has angle valve cylinders and single shaft driving the dual magnetos. The C172 is parallel valve and individual magnetos.
Thanks Rich, great demo! I've always liked Mooney's. I always liked the story of Socata/Daher getting the rights to the Mooney 301 prototype, adding the PT6 and making the TBM 700! Even the name, "TarBes (France) Mooney" for the TBM is cool. Every time I see an old Mooney I think of that LOL. Hope your weather gets better there!! 8) --gary
Another excellent video Rich! I have a couple friends with nice avionics in their Cessnas with older autopilots and this was a nice demo of why to upgrade to the Garmin as you so masterfully have shown. Thanks👍
I like watching these and saying what price I think is fair before you say it. The price almost always ends up much higher than I think is reasonable, but on this Mooney I decided that anything below 250k would be reasonable. Glad to see a cool plane being sold for a fair price.
MSE is Mooney Special Edition… Often indicating that every option possible was included. This particular aircraft has been updated nicely. If unsure… look at the badge on the yoke… 😃
awesome video as always, please keep them coming. I have a 1975 c177rg with the powerflow exhaust mod. Not sure if you have flown one of these w/ this mod; but i'm seeing tas of 151/152 kts on 12 gph rop; 145 kts 10 gph, and 140 kts 9 gph lop; I always hear how efficient the mooneys are, and I love their lines and lineage, but i think the cardinal rg from cessna is a contender with them and are more spacious. Interested to hear your thoughts, always amazed how you stay so proficient in multiple different airframes, you are the man at flying!
I have flown the Cardinals but not much - interesting numbers you show. If you are ever out in Socal with your Cardinal, let me know - thanks for watching!
Man that’s a tough question - I have such a hard time answering those. If I was taking more passengers, Bonanza but if mostly me and one other person, Mooney.
The cabin looks bigger than I expected. I thought Mooneys were narrow and cramped and that’s how they got their speed. Apparently not. Looks almost Bonanza sized. I’ll add these to my list of possible planes. Thanks for video!
Beautiful plane. Mooneys are awesome
Awesome 🎉 1:57

Thanks - I’ll check it out.
They are great airplanes. Actually get somewhere quick on not much gas.
Yeah, but at 230lbs, they are awful tight for my fat ass. Bonanza all the way for me!
@@mamulcahy yep, I’m right with you there…
Always great videos from you guys! I enjoy the instrument flight videos as well.
great to see you flying again...john from san diego...
Thank for taking us along.
Thanks for watching!

Nice little airplane and a good price too.

very cool airplane and very nice upgrades

Great job Rich, that is the nicest Mooney I have seen in a long time....I am in the market for a Bonanza but that is a tempting one...
It’s a nice one for sure!
Love Mooney`s

Very cool lineage for the TBMooney! Thanks for watching!
Great demonstration of the avionics and autopilot Rich. Hopefully the sunny skies you all are used to out there return soon 😉.
Thanks - we need the rain and I really like the rainy weather once in a while!

They have a wing design taken from the ol'e P-51 Mustang, another slippry plane.
Awesome!
Making the ifr look so easy Rich........i guess it s just practice happy new year
Happy New Year!
Hey Rich, you have an RV-8 in your intro, is that video available? Can't find it.
I never put one out. It’s my brother’s airplane and I flew it to him from CA to KS but didn’t get a video out.
@@FlyingwithRich I'm building one right now, would love to see a video on that! Thanks for the reply!!
Impressive airplane! Really enjoyed flying it.

Hey rich! hate to be the keyboard pilot but little fast on the flaps. White arc starts at @ 112KIAS in the M20J.
Thanks. If you hate to be a keyboard pilot, then why are you one?
Ok the question is would u rather fly the Mooney or a bonanza? Price , comfort, speed compare them
Man that’s a tough question - I have such a hard time answering those. If I was taking more passengers, Bonanza but if mostly me and one other person, Mooney.
nice :)
Dual Altimeters?
happy new year.....
