(I grew up in upstate NY with ten 90 degree days per year.) I miss the snow, but I am happy living on the west coast. Wyoming is great for the right person.
Have enjoyed learning about Casper this past year. Especially your videos ma'am. Difficult to leave home and an aging mother. But i have to say, i could really see myself enjoying Casper. Thanks for energetic and informative content. Well done!
Anyone see a lost bearded dragon named Puff running around Casper? He likes to take hits from a bong and drink homemade mead. He smells like tactical soap and one day is gonna live in a clock tower dreamhouse. TWU
My wife and I lived in and around Cheyenne for near 20 years (74-95) We moved due to our jobs but I have wanted to return for decades. This Spring, 2023 we moved back to Cheyenne. Now in our 70's we did not want to move too far out in the country. I was so discouraged to find housing that was affordable. Living in WY cost much more than where I last resided in the state of MS. Housing cost is out of this world! Also When I lived in Cheyenne the population was close to 50,000. Near or over 60,000 now. However the quality of life is in my humble opinion is very nice and comfortable. I have had moments asking myself what did I do moving back to Cheyenne and Wyoming. Overall I made a good decision. When the winds are blowing 40mph plus and horizontal snows with drifting snow banks, I am retired now and can enjoy the view from my Livingroom. The Summers are fantastic if you can dodge the hail storms. The Falls are wonderful. The Springs are not long from Winter to almost Summer within a month or less. The Winters are long if I recall correctly. This will be my first Winter in Wyoming in almost 30 years. Again the cost of housing is out of this world and very disappointing.

We'll be visiting Casper next month, coming from France. We want to emigrate there for some of the reasons you mentioned : freedom, limited government, conservatism, low population, wide spaces and nature. Though we are French, we fully understand and support the 2nd Amendment - I'm sure the State is quite secure because people are armed. Also sure that the local politicians think twice before making any silly decisions, unlike the fools that have been running France for +40 years ! As for hunting, we'll be glad to hunt images of the wilderness and splendid nature there. Hope to meet you there in December, Alisha. And then, if we like the place, we'll apply for an immigrant visa. Hope the USCIS will accept us. Praying hard for this !
Couldn’t agree with more, I spent five years working all over the state, and it and its people are wonderful! As you mentioned the neighboring states really suck, you certainly wouldn’t want to move to South Dakota, respectfully from Rapid City.

But I can't take the TX heat. I lived in Santa Fe, NM for 12 years, tho, and I miss the high desert and alpine areas. How is WY for single, but aging, renters on a fixed income?

Hey Alisha. Last summer, I came over to WY for a visit, and I loved it. I checked out Cody, Sheridan, and Buffalo. I want rural. However, connectivity was a bit of an issue. I may swing by summer 2024 to your part of the state to check it out. If there is solid connectivity and it's affordable for me, then we may have a winner. If I come, I'll probably stop by to chat you up. Thanks for all the info you provide in your videos.

Drivers are friendly 😂? Have you been outside lately. For some reason there is a lot of people that don’t know how to drive or know what a red light is or can read the signs. We were sitting at a red light and someone was coming out of gas station driveway and almost hit us in the side (right in front of them) they are blind to I guess. I know you want to sell real estate but we don’t want to be Californicated! Or any other. We get sub zero temps here in the winter, daily normal winds here 40 to 50 mph. We call a breeze.

Mississippi is the state with the lowest housing cost if I remember correctly. It is also one of the poorest states I believe.
