WHY ON EARTH IS FEMTO THE ONLY COMPANY THAT CAN DO THIS??! Someone in the US needs to do this or come up with OBD unlock at home. This is a monopoly right now
Other people have suspected that femto has some indirect with Bosch(DME maker). Being in finland and requiring customers to ship their DMEs there protects their technology. If we had it state side, Bosch or bmw could easily take legal actoin. Having the unlocking tech available online could also make it easy for bosch to patch.
You mention that any update would wipe any custom calibration and relock the DME. If there are powertrain issues under warranty, would it then not be possible to allow an update to occur to bring the ECM back to stock configuration ? or is there additional counters that are not wiped?
Any update that is performed by BMW will remove and custom tuning calibration and relock the DME. The DME will need to be unlock again before the tune can be re-installed.
@southernbm yes I get that part. But not what I am asking. I am asking is there a way for them to know that the ecu was unlocked and had a custom tune if they lock it via an update
So you wouldn't set the ecu to block updates from BMW at the tuner house? That seems pretty shitty. But hey, not your cash, right? Seems pretty shade that they have locked the ecu as well. Just to gouge. Think I'll forego buying a Supra or BMW. Nothing but money pits. That's a shame. 3 car sales loses, as others in the community are not buying now either. All due to greed and locked ecus... GL with all "that".
Straight to the point...the point is life clicked up a notch on sucking, the cost for tuning in most cases now more than doubles.
Great video, clear and straight to the point.

Russians got the encryption key
A warning to others, from what I have heard, starting in models with the B58TU2, there is a new type of lock that femto can't crack at the moment.
What power were you able to make on that M550 with the downpipe and intake? I saw that RK Tunes made 640 WHP on a 2020 M550 with the same mods.
in the femtonpage there’s options to unlock for bootmodrom and bootmod what’s the difference?
I have a bmw 2022 b48 engine and Femto couldn´t unlock my ECU.
Wtf?
Wait, I’m trying to get a 22 b48 unlocked I don’t want to hear that
is that true? as I will send my DME from my 330e car is from 12/22
What power did the stage 2 tune give. You didn’t tell us the results
Why is there no company in the United States that can unlock the ECU?
BMW would most likely have a lawsuit towards FEMTO
Where did u get that cool box to ship dme ?
looks like a pelican case.
What about a 06.2020 built m2cs? How do I know, if I can bench unlock it, or femto?
Download MHD flasher & click “check unlock” on main screen while plugged into OBD2

looking to purchase a 2020 m340 with a build date of 6-16-2020. will this need a femto unlock?
No bro you don't need femto
Frankly the cost for the Femto unlock for both DME’s is ummm, ridiculous. Surely there has to be another solution on the cards.
Not at the moment, maybe some time in the future, who knows.

should i expect any error codes when pop up after getting my DME back?
no
FEMTO is Russian but now in Finland due to ....
