  • @ptzish
    @ptzish 2 роки тому +33

    Here's a tip which I've yet to see anyone do. Get (4) 1' pieces of 2x4 or 2x6 and put them under (behind) your tires, slightly toward the inside of the tire. Back your car up onto them so that your tires have a 1.5" gap under them. Then you can wash all the way around the tire and you don't wind up with the little flat spot at the bottom that never gets scrubbed or treated with tire shine. Or if you have the time - just take off each wheel and do it the right way. :)

      Yes, already done that, but I often just push the car forward a little so I can polish what was that previously unreachable bit at the bottom.

    Love to watch videos regularly! Just another ‘hack’: instead of having to roll the car forward or back, drive it onto a thin 1”x4”/6” piece of wood. This elevates the car tread about 1/2” above the floor at the time of cleaning and there is no need to roll it around to finish. This is what I do to prevent the missing tire dressing when I detail. Thanks again for the videos!

I was using the Adams Wheel & Tire Cleaner in the beginning but switched to the Turtle Wax Wheel & Tire Cleaner. It works well and is more product for less money. (EDIT - YOU DID mention this and that's why you're the best!) Great video as always. One thing I think is absolutely imperative, is to roll the car forward or back a half rotation do get the lowest part of the tire, that is in contact with the ground. Especially on low profile tires like yours, that small area is nearly impossible to reach, either with spray or applicators. Just my $.02

    • @PanTheOrganizer

      As they only serve one purpose, applying a dressing, I simply place them face down on an old microfiber towel until next use. When they become too gunky, you spray them with a bit of APC, work it in, rinse off with warm water, and let the applicator to air dry face down on a towel. Boom, simple.

    I wash the majority of the time outside where I am exposed to temperatures where water can dry easily despite being in the shade so I have gotten accustomed to drying off each wheel and tire before proceeding to the next one and has become habit ever since to avoid water spots on my black satin wheels. I find if the wheels get any water on them during the wash process they are easier to dry off while using less detailer (Adam's Matte Detailer) for the final wipe down.

    Hi Pan,
    Great video as always. I need help. I have a 2021 Audi SQ8. I have been having a devil of a time getting my tires clean and prepared for dressing. 6 months ago I applied Carpro Blackout. The tires still have hydrophobic properties. I am cleaning the tires and wheels with Auto Fanatics wheel and tire foam cleaner. I scrub the tires and rinse. After drying I apply Adam’s Graphene dressing. The applicator turns black. Today I scrubbed the tires with a new Tuff Shine brush and the bristles turned black. I bought Carpro Retyre but have not tried it yet. Any suggestions? Thanks as always.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 роки тому +1

      Not sure I understand what issue you are having. Are your tires ok? A tire coating is near impossible to remove (hence why they are so durable). So I would simply clean them with Retyre, apply a new coat of BlackOut, and that will be your base protection. Then after maintenance washes, just use a dressing of your choice to top off the look. That’s what I do.

    Hey Pan, great video as always! I have an issue with my tires taking on a blue-ish tint after applying dressing and driving around for a day or so. I have used two different water based dressings (Tri-Nova and Rubbercare by Aerocosmetics), and also observe it happening after I have gone through a regular carwash. I live on a dirt road and wonder if that’s part of the problem; maybe the dirt/dust is somehow reacting with the dressing? Just wondering what your thoughts and suggestions may be.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 роки тому +4

      1) Do you clean/degrease your tires properly before you apply the dressing?
      2) If the answer is yes, try a different dressing like those I recommended here and see if you get a different result.

    What product would you recommend to use on an off-road tire with an aggressive sidewall pattern? I have tried to apply by hand and it was pretty difficult because of the design of the tire, so I am leaning towards an spray or an aerosol. I tried meguiars endurance spray but I didn’t like the amount it sprayed (too much) and it was extremely glossy. I was thinking of using the 303 satin finish foam or the 303 aerospace protectant itself. What do you think?
    I know you like the classic aerospace protectant but I am not sure if their tire foam is as good as the protectant.
    And would you apply the 303 protectant on the tread of the exposed spare tire on the back? Thanks

    Hi Pan how are you ? I always wanted to ask you , what product do you recommend for that very shiny/wet look that can last for a little while? I know there's prep involved to get tire cleaned up after washing the car and stuff, but i really want to keep that wet look shiny gloss look on the tire. I know any product wont last forever but your thought as too an awesome look, thanks for your time and as always, love the videos my Canadian friend :) .....cheers Pan

      I prefer an in between look, not matte, no oily looking, just a nice shine. So most are water based in that category, and only last 1 to 2 weeks. Doesn't really matter as I wash my car twice weekly and it's easy to reapply a fresh layer.
      If you want something that will last for months, the only solution is a proper tire coating like CarPro BlackOut and I reviewed that on my channel. But that gives a medium gloss.
      If you want something oily looking, super wet look, just note those can sling on the paint. Here's a crowd favourite: amzn.to/39ajBL9

    • @666DW
      @666DW 2 роки тому +3

      I use a concoction of three ingredients to make the most comprehensive screen wash to ensure maintenance free operation and excellent cleaning performance.
      I live in the U.K. so other countries dependent upon weather conditions would need to change the quantities of one ingredient to ensure frozen fluid does not occur.
      The main ingredients I use are Prestone concentrated screen wash additive (available at Costco in the U.K.), isopropanol alcohol and Deionised water.
      I make batches in 5 litre quantities so a winter mix (down to -10) I would use 20% concentrated screen wash, 10% isopropanol alcohol and 70% deionised water.
      For a summer mix I would use 10% concentrated screen wash, 10% isopropanol alcohol and 80% deionised water.
      The above mixtures will ensure maintenance free operation of washer fluid, no limescale blocking washer jets, maintained screen wash free from sludge and contamination, clean wiper blades ensuring rapid cleaning of windscreen and freedom of glass smears, poor visibility in wet conditions and wiper judder!
      Try it you will not be disappointed!😉👊🏻

      @@SuperAnonymities the isopropanol alcohol is a vital ingredient as it prevents sludge in the washer bottle, maintains cleanliness of the wiper blades and contributes to removing grease from the windscreen and ensures a streak free windscreen screen during inclement weather.
      As your country does not experience cold weather I would reduce the quantities of both the screen wash concentrate and isopropanol alcohol to blend an all seasons screen wash by using 250ml of isopropanol and 250ml of concentrated screen wash alongside 4500 ml of deionised water👍🏻

      You don't use an IPA every single wash.
