Well to me it is obvious who won, both of you, quality time granddad and grandson, cup of tea, sarnies, it does not get any better than this, having fun with your grandson, the guns came second.
Thanks for the comment hope you enjoyed the video :-)
Best comment I’ve seen on UA-cam ever.
👏👏👏👏
Mr Conor your videos are so enjoyable to watch!! Just love your granddad’s laugh😁 the thing you guys are doing is absolutely priceless, cherish that stuff🙏🏼 thanks for the awesome content, I honestly don’t get why you don’t have like 50.000 subscribers. Cheers!
gotta love your auld fella , tin of baccy and a tin of pellets .....a man after me own heart..
I like the feel of this video, no bull just guys at the range. That’s what it’s all about. Love it. Plus I’m from Liverpool so bonus points.
Top video made think i know the rifle am getting after this, great to see grandad and grandson quality time doing boy stuff still exists.Really enjoyed this
Really interesting video. Nice to see 22 performing so well. Sick of hearing 1.77 is the best all the time. They are just different equally as good in there own way.
And as preciously commented quality time with grandad is special
just goes to show really, all these people who argue about 177 vs 22, in this instant, i think overall the .22 smashed it at this range/wind. If you had zero wind/your into your indoor range the .177 is the way to go, but as an all rounder, I think the .22 is the way to go
If you have a powerful enough PCP and you can get heavy enough slugs I can get them all the way to 29 grain and 178.
I love 1.77 for the flatter trajectory and the speed
It’s commonly known that for the same lbft, the 0.177 has a flatter trajectory while the 0.22 has more knockdown power (at a certain distance)...
The thing I’m interested in (and never found an answer on the net) is : how much lbft does a 0.22 need to equalize the trajectory of a 0.177 with, let’s say for an example, 12 lbft ? This might be an interesting challenge to be calculated by the one of you guys who knows how to calculate this ! Thanks a lot for your answer and heartily cheers from Switzerland :-) (sorry for my bad English !)
(I’m hesitating between a 0.177 with 18 lbft and a 0.22 with 40 lbft...)
Trajectory is primarily determined by the speed of the projectile. So a a 0.177 and 0.22 will follow the same trajectory at the same speed. However, there will be some difference due to ballistic coefficient of the pellets.
@@rattytattyratnett "a .177 and 0.22 will follow the same trajectory at the same speed". you sure about that?
Around 22 ftlb.
@@dirtrider88
I thought the same! 😂
Do you think you could do the video again but let Conor shoot both the 177 and 22
I think it'll be more fair
Nice work lefty
Nice to see a left handed shooter again
So you think the grandad sucks at shooting, hit the pin first mind 😊
I think wind was a factor here for the .177 swirling around those fences maybe try with a heavier pellet? I'll stick with my .22 for outdoors
I love when Jim breaks out the sarnnies and con looks at him in in disbelief ha ha ha
Hahahaha yeah
Great video guys and some great group shooting probably a few years late now but was wondering if your still using the same R10’s
Fantastic to see family’s have fun cherish it always well done, it’s a 2.2 for me
Before I watch it all I’m going grandad for the win 😃👍
Nice video, couldn't get any better seeing a couple of family members doing it for fun. Personally i don't thing the two calibre pellets can be seperated...what one lacks it makes up in another way...for me it's down to personal preference.
Can I ask what is the range finder you use in looking to buy one but not got a clue which one to buy
Great vid👌Silly question but what exact range was the scope on the .177 zeroed in at? Obvs the .177 has a flatter trajectory and more leeway on ranges.🤔
so my problem with what i want to go with ive mostly hunted with 177 and i want to shoot a dove and kill it and i like to shoot dove off of powerlines in a field and what caliber works better?
What name of that two rifle sir? I want to buy someday
Really enjoyed watching this. Great to see both of you having good air rifle fun. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks Peter glad you liked it
Interesting,...well produced...fun
Grandfather knows how to shoot! :). Good shooting fellas
Hello mate, I know this video is a few years old now, but have you ever tried using different pellets? I have a BSA R10 SE in .177 and used a few tins of AA Diablo Field. I thought they were pretty decent until I did a pellet test using 20 different pellets. My gun shoots so much better with H&N FTT or H&N Baracuda Match pellets. Both types are putting pellet on pellet with groups of 10 shots less than 5p in size at 30-40 yards. Each gun is different but they put the AA pellets to shame!
Great guns! Great guys! Great shooting!
Great video. Both of you are guilty of chasing the shot when the pressure is on. ;)
Nice video, not conclusive though for the obvious reasons...
This air gunning thing nowadays has just so much offer! It's very personal on which is your favorite caliber, air rifle, pellets, scopes, etc...
I say use whatever you feel most comfortable with. The lovely thing about the 1.77 caliber is the trajectory! My personal favorite for years now has been the 1.77 caliber. I have used it for very small, to small, to medium small game hunting, and of course for target. With the right kit, one can get kill shots at very, very long distances!!
Hi, what do you mean by kit?
@@rgrifat hi there Rami, "kit" means equipment...
I just waiting on my walnut r10 in .22 can't wait it's so nice I had a s410 but sold to get this now
Good vid lads...very curious on the actual targets!!are the centre black circles hand made for the red to show over the black when shot at??if so how r these made as I would like to try myself!!
Keep up the god wrk....
Your lovely neighbour Wales
Hope you like the vids and yes the circles are homemade if you look through my channel you will come across a video called (HOW TO MAKE REACTIVE TARGETS) this will guide you through the process of making them very easy and cheap to make
177 perfect my friend.
cool set up on your range my brother from across the pond
The place your shooting at, is it the OWL HOOT shooting club up in rixton Warrington? Just that I'm off up there myself very soon hopefully to sight in a new rifle/scope combo...
It sure is it was called prospect target club originally but changed its name and we haven't been up there in a really long time hopefully we will get up there again soon
I did ballistic myself the .22 won almost all the tests including penetration! No doubt is better against the wind 💨 it’s physics more muzzle energy equals more power obviously down range to . The .177 looses to much energy down range and the .22 has more knockdown power and does more internal damage . So to me the 177 is more for plinking and vermin control the 22 is more for hunting .
Isn't vermin control the same as hunting 😏. At 12 ft/lb a .177 pellet is still travelling faster at 50 yards than a .22 at the muzzle. These two are either rubbish shooters, not cleaned the barrel or haven't done the required pellet testing to see what that particular barrel likes.
Great video :) you should swap rifles and see how you go or get some pellets of an identical grain or as close as you can get in both rifles
Think a good comparison would be the same person shooting both guns. You are both good shooters but there is always one better than the other.
hi liked the video, but not impressed with bsa , i have a walther lgv and can hit pins in two shoots, not having a go at you , i was thinking about getting a pcp so was looking at R10 ? .
Enjoyed that lads nice piece of shooting today
What kind of guns are they-- 10 shots, I want one
It’s a BSA R10 SE They have very smooth bolt and trigger actions, and are just generally beautifully made. I have one on order, and it’s a 22. :^ )
Why 42 yards? Or is that just the length of your yard?
I have seen some put a level on their guns. To make sure its not leaning left or right.
What scope is that. The one with rage finder
Why only 12 ft/lbs?? I'm planning to get a 29.51 ft/lbs .177 one...
Both are a good shot. I think comes down to ammo maybe. Maybe a tiny bit of human error. They do better than me most likely.
Awesome airgun shooting range guys...cool video. Thumbs up
Thanks glad you like it
I got a .22 think it's a .177 for me next time. the BSA range of pcp guns are superb
Yeah 1.77 are really good however in windy conditions you will prefer a .22
Good video , I do prefer .177 only cos I do FT shooting , both of them guns BSA R10s ?
Yeah jay both r10 my grandads is .22 and mine is 1.77
Really enjoying these videos, Good Shooting ;-)
I like the push pin target idea looks like fun.
Awsum ...thanks very much!!will check them out ASAP 👍
Awesome. So .22 is better in the wind.
Good shooting and nice guns cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
Eny low price ( .177 = 800 fps rifle) vs ( .22 = 600 fps rifle )= Rabit 🐰 hunting which best sir ? =
Ravi Sg Shivarampura .22 unless you hit a vital with .177 it’ll just pass through
better grouping in long range with JSB diabolo heavys 10.34 .177 .try them...i use them with great accuracy..bsa barrels love jsb's
Thanks I'll give them a try I have been looking for a good pellet for long range
i shoot them usually at 50 m and longer
Really enjoyed watching that👌🏼👍🏼
Fun to watch you two shoot, puts a bit of fun back into airgun shooting, what video camera/recorders do you use?... Keep the vids up guys...
Hi Phillip glad you like the vids and we use my iPhone 7 to record us and then we also have a panosonic camcorder with really good zoom
With all respect jimmy it’s a BEAST 👍
tell you what I notice with my r10 is it is much more accurate at 190 bar and a waste of air putting up to 232 bar.i know its regulated but those first 20 - 30 shots are like a shotgun.at 190 its a lazer gun pellet on pellet.
I agree it effects my grandad gun (.22) more than mine we normally fill out guns upto 200 Barr however, the first 10-20 shots just fly everywhere
+Airguns HD must be the regulators they fit.mines .22 as well and its a great gun otherwise.
+180del yeah after the first few shots it seems to be fine
Célbalövésnél a 4.5mm praktikusabb, egy nagyobb súlyú lövedékkel a szél esetén is kisebb lesz a szórás.
Great time spent together....you both win
Love the little range!
I've just got the r10 sc tactical. 177. love it want the. 22 to match now. do you own any other rifles and what did you have before the r10. great videos
Hahaha it's always the way, we only have the R10's however, we have sent off for our FAC so we will be purchasing some Rimfires and shotguns
Lads great video were about is this range am from Liverpool and love to shoot there got a BSA ULTRA SE .22
Hi Paul it's called prospect target club it's in Worrington boss range it's not to busy during the week either
+Airguns HD thanks a lot mate do you have to do introductory corses or can I just turn up and shoot how much isit thanks
+paul dano no you can just turn up and shoot I can't remember the price of the membership now but it's around £20 and 3£ every time you visit works out a little bit more being a non member ring them up the guy who owns it is called Lee
+Airguns HD sound mate thanks a lot much appreciated
+paul dano No worries
What a heck of grouping 😱
Hi..I can put 4.5mm in 5.5mm?
The scope showed 42 yards. May i know what model is it ?
it was a range finder not a scope that he used to get the range mate
What pellets using lads really good for the r10
Hi aj we are using air arms diablo field pellets that's what we always use and find that there is no issues
Only one guy should do the shooting....effort is appreciated sirs but far from conclusive...
I agree.
Who gives fuck it's called fun
Flawed imo as one guy should shoot as he might be a better shot than you. But everyone has their preference in calibers. Good luck lads you enjoyed it
Matt Chilton because it destroys the results of the test. Which is the entire point of the video
@@JHUM22 exactly ,this video tittle wasnt about having fun it was about comparing 2 things. if your comparing things you need to eliminate as many variables as possible and 2 different shooters is about as big of a variable as you could have.
The rifles are supported on sandbags and are solid. Where's the skill in shooting this way? Now if you'd done this freehand that would've been impressive.
I like that cal .22 air rifle. How to order?
This was filmed at Owl Hoot wasn’t it??
went and fetched the. 22 this morning. can see already the difference shooting in the wind.
+steven blagburn hahaha it will be a .25 next
.177 👍. Combien de joules ? Merci
Really enjoyed that mate
Nice video. I like the .177 / .22 comparison.
Thanks glad you enjoyed
what size pellet was your grandad using in .22 5.1 or 5.2 aa
5.1
+Airguns HD thanks for quick reply been testing my scorpion se .22 with aa 5.1 and it seems to like them getting a r10 se blackpepper but can't decide what cal to go for .177 or .22 ?
+Gavin Lee if I was you I would go with .177 for the r10 if you already have a .22 however my granddads r10 in .22 does seem to be more accurate also nice choice with the black pepper
What a nice range
Would you rather be .22 now con or still .177
Tim I would much rather have a .22 caliber R10 because of the much higher shot count and my granddads .22 seems to have a lot less pellet movement in flight
damn thanks for the comfidence booster
your saying you do better than that?
great shooting ,like it å lot 👍
Thanks Remi
Nice test comparison 👍
What scope you using ?
MTC viper 4-16x50
Looks like your grandad can't hack the pressure at the end ;p
What is it you use to colour the targets lad?
I put cellotape on colourful card and then paint it with black spray paint I've got a tutorial on my channel of how its done search for HOW TO MAKE REACTIVE TARGETS
great idea m8 nice one for sharing tha
Get some woodworm treatment for that fence, before it walks away,
I’m not trying to be a dick but it’s .177 not 1.77, I know you know that… Really, loved the video and am now subscribed.
I love my .177 for shooting pigeons inside a barn with no wind to deal with. And they will work outside as long as there isn’t any wind, I’ve killed rabbits at over 60 yards (lasered). I don’t have a 22 cal pellet rifle, yet… Someday I’ll get a 22 cal barrel for my Impact just to shoot slugs.
Sub 12lb .177 is the way to go. FAC .22 all day long.
Wish I had a poppa
were u shooting at id love to kno cant be that far away from me seeing as ur useing atherton rifle range targets
The club is called prospect target club and it is in Worrington
+Airguns HD nice one thank u very much nice to kno its on my door step being a st helens lad
+zods muffin yeah same only like 20 mins drive for us
+Airguns HD arr so ur from st.helens to an got to say thank u for letting us kno were it is who ever owns it should give u free membership cuz uv just made them alot of monay off me going to go down there and do some clays an abit of plinking with some firebird targets
+zods muffin no we are from halewood and Ino hahaha quite a few people have asked me where the club is. The owner Lee is building a few more ranges aswell so it will get even better
Grandads Rule.
I use my .177 with the open end Bullet nose pellet! At 30 yards I can kill a fox ,which I've done with out a Scope ! Free hand and not a Bridge and Support like you show!! What a Joke ...Semper Fi !!!
Nice seeing another left handed shooter
that's what the calliber is a lapse 177, or 22
have you tried exchanging rifles? your dad has steadier nerves due to nicotine kick. just kidding guys. great video...I shoot .22's. will migrate to .177's for personal reasons only...
Yes only one person should be shooting both rifles or switch out.
nice shot.nice gun
Wath riffles are those , you know, the name and brands ?
BSA R10
A 1.77 air rifle would have a bit of kick ;)
There's no kick from either gun pcps do not recoil.
Nice grouping
Nice match, but i love the .22 mate. For the amount of wind that's there .22 has the upper.
Completely agree
But let me tell you, .177 is no pushover either, I use it for back yard pesting and when used correctly it gets the job done.
+Miguel Diaz yeah, however I really notice the difference when it's windy
+Airguns HD Sadly I have had no opportunity to air gun these past two years reason being that i had to move to NYC to finish up on my degree as a social worker and as you may already know New York treats "ALL" airguns as firearms and thus are illegal here in this police state. Most of my air gun practice is done at my land in Puerto Rico where such strict laws are none existent. Upon my completion I will be moving to Florida where I can purchase my new airguns and hopefully meet up with others and possibly join a club if I am accepted. I am leaning towards an FX Gladiator in .22, an FX Verminator in .177 and a nice Air Arms or Daystate for field target. What do you guys think? By the way where are you from England?
+Miguel Diaz yeah we are both from England and them air guns you mentioned are all really good I've heard great things about the fx wildcat you might want to have a look at that also, we are going to America for a shooting holiday soon to shoot some real guns
are these pcp's regulated?
They sure are
177 should win hands down every time ... having said that tech is moving on .. watch out 22 is about
It sure is
