What makes this even sadder is that…there was no way Ethan would’ve gotten back to Mia anyway. Without his heart, he wouldn’t have made it halfway to the copter without crumbling completely.
We saw Ethan fall and get back up again. He literally died in RE7 but came back. He always stood up and was so stubborn. Even when Chris and everyone told him, he should stop. He never accepted it. But at that moment he knew. And he accepted it. Hearing his voice like that, was something we never knew we would hear. His voice was never like that.
I feel so bad for Chris, he was trying to prevent another Piers situation from happening but it essentially went down in the same way. Poor guy just can't catch a break, someone always dies around him, he even thought Jill died in RE5, of course she didn't but he was still traumatized by it.
This hits Chris especially hard considering he's lost so many of his comrades. And to have risked a civilian like Ethan is especially harder because he wasn't even supposed to get mixed up in all this. They were suppose to transport Ethan and Rose to a safe place while they dealt with Miranda and co. I can't wait to see how they write Rose's story and how Chris' influence on her will go.
I can agree with a video I saw where the guy said that in both games (RE7 and RE8) the real "villain" was Mia. If she hadn't worked for that organization Chris was investigating and if she hadn't lied to Ethan, maybe the end would have been different and he wouldn't have had to sacrifice his life for everyone's benefit and could have escaped along with them too. Because of the job she chose, it was already more than clear that she could never have a normal life and because of that Ethan sacrificed his own life for her "sins".
Or if Ethan wasn't a dumbass and just called the police the second he heard from her after 3 years, instead of stumbling into a situation that he wasn't prepared for.
I always loved Ethan, even in RE7. People complained he was boring, but he was quite literally just a normal man who just got put in his first life or death situation, and he chose to stay there until he got his wife back. He reacted to his situation better than most of us probably would have
Ethan Winters really was a good father. He went to louisiana just to save his wife, got his hand cut off and stapled again, survived fatal falls and injuries Now he suddenly got in a Village full of maniacal cannibals that bit of his fingers, got in a castle full of psychopath vampires got his hand cut off again survived 6 fatal falls and several memory issues now his heart got impaled off just to save his family
But I don’t think that’s possible here. Chris literally planted what was essentially a nuke to destroy the mold, unless Ethan pulls an Indiana Jones he’s probably not coming back
This game made me cry not only that it's one of the best re games ever 2nd place after re2 in my opinion. We are probably never going to have a ending as good as Resident Evil Village's
The way Chris react to Ethan sacrificing himself in the helicopter is so touching and shows how close they got even thought he was only in two games Ethan is one of my favorite protagonist up there with Leon
I really liked Ethan and it was really sad seeing the inevitable. Due to the hate received to ethan in re 7, capcom killed him in re8. Sad. I wish there was a serum that could remove the mold from him
I know this is 2 months late, but it wouldn't have helped anyway since as Eveline had said "Your whole body is nothing but mold." It would be almost impossible to "cure" Ethan.
@@bharatdhurua953 Because he didn’t show emotion in the game. The entire time he consisted on grunts and dry sentences. Wasn’t really the actors fault, he just wasn’t given much to work with. Even when seeing something disturbing or horrifying, Ethan didn’t seem to really care.

It is so sad to watch ethan go thourght all of this just to save his daughter but in the end he coulndt see her grow up it actually made me cry😭
Now I kind of want RE9 to be about the time Chris spent with Rose doing everything he can to protect her like he promised to Ethan
No matter how much I watch his death, I still can't get over it 😭 We will miss him
ethan is amazing but is sad
im glad im not the only one who cried like an absolute baby when ethan died. its so sad
oh no honey I cried as well don't be ashamed 🤣
Same here. Went and hugged my 5 year old hard.
So long Ethen Winters....rest in peace 😢
A kind husband and a loving father who put family before all else....
He promised to save rose he was a very good father nothing matters what happened
The "goodbye rosemary" hits fucking hard man...
They really putt his hands through a lot. RIP Ethan winters 😔
Ethan,
A kind and loving father and husband.
He doesn’t deserve this
I can agree with a video I saw where the guy said that in both games (RE7 and RE8) the real "villain" was Mia.
The Eternal Cycle of Chris' Friends dying
I always loved Ethan, even in RE7. People complained he was boring, but he was quite literally just a normal man who just got put in his first life or death situation, and he chose to stay there until he got his wife back. He reacted to his situation better than most of us probably would have
Ethan Winters really was a good father.
He went to louisiana just to save his wife, got his hand cut off and stapled again, survived fatal falls and injuries
Now he suddenly got in a Village full of maniacal cannibals that bit of his fingers, got in a castle full of psychopath vampires got his hand cut off again survived 6 fatal falls and several memory issues now his heart got impaled off just to save his family
This ending made me so much cry. 😭 RIP Ethan Winters.
Rule #1 in fiction: he's not dead unless we see a body, sometimes not even then
But I don’t think that’s possible here. Chris literally planted what was essentially a nuke to destroy the mold, unless Ethan pulls an Indiana Jones he’s probably not coming back
@@zeldagameryt4018”there was a fridge hidden in the mold”
@@Dr.Gaming98 The fridge had John Cena in it
Really felt completely alone and sad after completing this game
This game made me cry not only that it's one of the best re games ever 2nd place after re2 in my opinion. We are probably never going to have a ending as good as Resident Evil Village's
RE2 remake is the best resident evil I've played, but Village is my favorite.
@@alexism9656 no hate but are they both your favorite?
@@nathanrios9285 Nah, I think Re2:Remake is overall better than Village, but I like Village more because it fits my taste.
@@alexism9656 oh ok I think I know what you are saying. 😁😁
The way Chris react to Ethan sacrificing himself in the helicopter is so touching and shows how close they got even thought he was only in two games Ethan is one of my favorite protagonist up there with Leon
R.i.p Ethan Winters
I really liked Ethan and it was really sad seeing the inevitable. Due to the hate received to ethan in re 7, capcom killed him in re8. Sad. I wish there was a serum that could remove the mold from him
I know this is 2 months late, but it wouldn't have helped anyway since as Eveline had said "Your whole body is nothing but mold." It would be almost impossible to "cure" Ethan.
What ethan got hate in RE7 ??
@@bharatdhurua953
Because he didn’t show emotion in the game. The entire time he consisted on grunts and dry sentences. Wasn’t really the actors fault, he just wasn’t given much to work with. Even when seeing something disturbing or horrifying, Ethan didn’t seem to really care.
Love Hollow such an Emotional Dude
Rest in peace Ethan your sacrifice will be remembered but you will never be forgotten saving your family
I feel so bad for ethan after everything he has done to get his family and protect his daughter and save her he had to die
But i also feel bad for chris, man is near his 50s during this time and during his whole life he lost so many people close to him and cherished and now ethan is on that list to poor man is cursed
I liked hollows reaction the most tbh he was so emotional which let my emotions take over me
It's Soo so sad ending I cried a lot because it's so hard to lose a father he Been to a lot of hard times so his a great father
RIP:ETHAN WINTERS
Ethan Winters is literally the Father of Resident Evil and we've lost an amazing character
Ethan is the most underrated resident evil character.
I still think this was the best RE ever, the storytelling and the atmosphere are perfect
I read on wiki that Ethan just regular guy. Unlike Chris or Leon who is trained with firearms, he just ordinary guy who get dragged into this disaster
You could hear the pain in his voice when he has to say goodbye to rose...he was a great character
Poor Chris, first Piers and now Ethan :(
much more than Piers actually. but yeah, I have to agree. Chris has been through so much pain
Rest in peace Ethan.... even though you been through hell twice ... you left this world a good man... and a good father..
the Biohazard games are a perfect representation of a true Man... main goal of RE7 "Save your Wife"... main goal of RE8 "Save your Daughter"
Everyone: Sad and crying
Jack: Don't get to see his face?
Its so sad man .... Ethan forever bro ♥️
Ryan: yo is Thanos in the mountains?
I-
All I want to say is ,
It's enough to make a grown man cry .
It doesnt matter how many memes have been made out of this game or how Ethan seemed one dull character in re games prior to this, the plotline, the gameplay and hidden symbolism behind it bring much weight to emotions felt during the ending.
I cried 6 times in this video
How to survive in Resident Evil:
Step 1: Don't team up with Chris
i absolutely adore how Chris' voice actir says "i tried", for a moment he breaks and shoqs he's actually feeling despite trying to put on his strong attitude
It’s really sad that Ethan died for them and Chris have to deal with that pain again when he lost his comrade name Piers Nivans in Resident Evil 6 😔😢😭💔. Both Piers and Ethan sacrificed themselves to save others
The fact my name is Ethan makes it so much more painful
I cried when he said goodbye rosemary. I tried to be strong 😭🥺
Resident Evil Village: The first game to make me cry back to back at the main character’s death
I watched this scene for so many times it still makes me cry
"Its just a video game it cannot be that sad"
The video game:
Goodbye rosemary
My heart broke into million pieces
Capcom was like: "You hate him? Say goodbye then..." 😢😢😢
I got a moral from this game that really deserve it in the game is that we should always protect our family from any danger as a daddy because thay love thair family and thay stay very happy.
I rarely cry because of games, but that one hit me back then.
I rage cry every time Ethan passes rose to Chris and says his goodbyes. As a parent it's too damn real watching this especially when you immerse yourself into the game and you know that last time he heard and saw his daughter he knows is now safe.
One of the most injustice finals in a game, after all that Ethan has to pass he must have escaped
A Maincharacter sacrificing himself in an RE game is something. So far all Maincharacters had the plot armor thickened around them but with Ethan. He died just shortly after we met him, lived on as a mutant, became a father and sacrificed himself to save his family. Outstanding. Just outstanding.
Ethan is a freaking hero, he came back from the dead three times to save his family
Every time hollow cries I cry
Ethan:tear apart on my flesh and bone, leave me in the freezing cool but still i won't let you watch me... when i fall
Chris has a lot of respect to Ethan, if Ethan survived i bet Chris will ask Ethan to join BSAA
First Chris lost his bestie Piers in 6 and now he lost his friend Ethan😭 poor guy can never catch a break.
(When Chris hits the side of the chopper) "Chris, try to be careful. Remember what you could do to that boulder..."
