Haha! Yeah! You make stuff that the original manufacturer is like, "shit, we should have stuff that cool." Although these jacks wouldn't have given me enough room to get a sander in and really grind the bottom off, I feel that they will allow me to paint the boat easier. When I have as much of the hull painted that I can, I can just set the boat back on its bunks and paint where the jacks are. Otherwise, I'm jacking the boat up and moving the cribbing here and there to put paint on. Each time I move the cribbing, it's an experiment in not crushing myself with a 4,000lb boat. It happened only once that I was under the boat, headphones in and listening to an audio book, when I heard a distinct creek from the cribbing. I came out from under there like a top fuel dragster on meth and 190 proof Everclear. Thankfully, nothing else happened, but trust it with my life? Not so much much.
