Striper fishing breaking in my rod and reel

- Bought a new rod and reel a few months ago and haven't really used it. Went out and got on a little school of striper.

Good reel choice, did you ware out your Vanford? A lot of fish and hours on that reel. Sweet looking rod by the way. I have a Daiwa 3000 back bay that needs a rod. Ya got me thinking again LOL
I actually broke my other rod. I ordered a new 1 and have it now. So I can switch off rod/reels. I like this rod reel set up though. I have 10lb braid so I can cast pretty far. Pair your 3000 with a saltist rod. lol

"A man" you hook and play so many fish you test out all drag gears even on your new reel. Maybe reels need to be quieter? Teflon (more expensive?) gear/drags.... Level wind? You spotted fish where few other fishers were there; fun times! Do you "twitch/move" your rod when retrieving all lures. You switched from swim bait to a Kast master... for distance?? Or look?
I usually twitch all my lures yes. Sometimes not the swimbait. Yes kastmaster I mainly use for distance.
