I’m so glad you talk about this because the viral skincare trend on tiktok DESTROYED my skin, especially the glow recipe toner! It took me months to recover from that!
I have sensitive dry skin and some of these Korean skincare trends RUINED my skin for like almost a year, I had to get a prescription for cortisol to reverse the damages 😭😫
@@rosade_ it's so weird tho because korean products are much gentler than western counterparts (hence why if you need good chemical exfoliant korean products isn't the way to go because they're not as potent). so i'm shocked to see someone have such bad reaction, especially from such products that don't really contain actives!
Girllll I just found your page. First thing, love the way you educate the girlies about everything skincare and overall self care. Second thing, this video was MUCHHHH NEEDED. I recently became a licensed esthetician and I wanted to make a video about this as well and you hit the nail for so many TikTok trends 😭 the over cleansing, over toning, the constant theme is just TOOOO MUCH aka OVERCONSUMPTION. L I love how you also prefaced by saying you did what worked for YOU and YOUR skin type. Too many girlies are using products that are not meant for them. Foaming cleansers = oily/highly congested skin. Cream cleansers = dry. If you have dry there’s zero reason to be using a super foamy cleanser baby itll get dryer.😩😩 thank you for this vid babes wish you the best
I have the clearest skin of my teenage years by using baby soap and Vaseline…10/20 step Korean skin care, retinol, actives, acids, and all the makeup products that I fell for the marketing and bought RUINED my skin. I was only 19 and I felt like I looked old. I have very sensitive skin and I rarely break out now with this routine. You don’t need all this stuff. Your skin has its own exfoliation process. It has its own moisture barrier. It can heal itself believe it or not. I’m not saying these products can’t help SOME people but not everyone needs them, and you certainly don’t need 10 products to put on your face
If you have normal skin with a little acne like most people (when you are a teenager/early 20s), Glycerin by itself is an amazing moisturizer and gives your skin a glow. I personally use baby soap like you but afterwards I use glycerin, and most of the toners out there are glycerin mixed with other stuff. For the people who have serious acne, don't go for the commercialized products that are advertised, look for medical grade products that are more niche.
So glad you brought this up!! I honestly follow mostly dermatologists for that reason! I think my two favorite tips are the triple butt paste cream as a very last step when my acne is flaring up and hyloronic acid on your lips then a lip mask are 2 of my favorite skin care tips. I’m pregnant so my skin clearly is changing so I try to not get into the trends to much but I see them and sometimes less is more when it comes to certain steps for skin care and my wallet lol sending you all the good vibes and thank you for your incite 🥰
2:45 Girll we share the same fav oil cleanser, this particular one has been doing god’s work for my skin and i have oily skin, i recently just bought 3 new bottles
See I've been wanting to try dry brushing, but I have never seen anyone with sensitive or eczema-prone skin before say anything about their experience with dry brushing. 1 trend I will never hop on now
See I don’t have eczema but I have sensitive dry skin. I tried dry brushing not even with a bristle type brush but a silicone one. I did it too rough and messed up my skin so bad it took a year to fully heal my skin barrier. It was like little red itchy bumps on my face and chest that looked like a rash almost. So that’s my experience with it 😭
I have eczema and dry patches on my legs and elbows I recently got into dry brushing after a failed attempt and so far it’s doing very well but I did wait for 2 years until I got my flares under control and moisturizing my skin like crazy! When I first tried it it was painful and made my flares 10x worse and I had dry patches in places I’ve never got it’s literally an experiment.😭
I watch a lot of skin care routines, and while i understand that people's sensitive skin reacts differently to my own, i just can't stand it when beauty influencers claim to have highly sensitive skin while applying harsh face washes, exfoliators, toners, 3 different serums and moisturisers all in one routine. If you can do that without any break outs, then you DO NOT have sensitive skin. Stop lying! ETA .. Although i watch a lot of beauty inflencers, the only thing i use is Cerave so their not even selling me anything, really.
i just discovered you, i'd like to say one you are literally so gorgeous i could not keep my eyes off of you oh my gosh, and also i love ur channel smm!!
I honestly think as long as you eat well, drink water, and use a cleanser and toner once a day (at night after the day is over) your skin will naturally do its thing
I’m just gonna be real. I tried the 10 step. Never worked for me - I had horrific red raw skin covered in bumps. Ironically to achieve “glass skin” , I literally wash my face with dr bronner bar soap, and then apply the InstaSkincare brand vitamin c serum. Total cost is like … $14 total for all the products. Literally these routines HURT MY SOUL
SOME DIY like an oil scalp/hair treatment, or shea butter body cream is fine. BUT some of these weird tips are just so damaging to skin barrier, scalp etc.
the worst one that got me was bubble 😭 it said oily skin so I thought it was good but it made me break out and made my skin irritated 😔 ended up going back to my tride and true cerave salicylic.
great idea for a video❤ maybe slugging didn't work for you because the type of breakouts you get are caused by bacteria. like benzoyl peroxide works by killing bacteria and trapping the bacteria under Vaseline or cicaplast might make it worst🤷🏾♀️
the turmeric and kojic acid soap thing has RUINED my skin! there are patches around my eyes that are lighter than the rest of my face and that also peel and burn 😢 finally seeing the dermatologist tmrw ❤
I tried Vaseline slugging a week back and it didn’t work for me since it’s winter..I always use it for my chapped lips also it was alright when I used it around my mouth area so I decided to apply it all over my face but in small amounts I ended up getting rough small bumps below my eyes and my cheeks area felt dry even though I layer the vaseline on top of my moisturizer I can feel the texture on my face just by touching
I used to be really into Korean skincare and used to wash ny face everyday. However, those products made me break out more so I switched my products and only washed my face 2 to 3 times a week. (Like a deep clean) and my face got so much better. 😂
Girlies, I am struggling with hyperpigmentation . It’s not crazy but I do have a bit of discolouration in my mouth and chin area. Can someone please recommend me something? I’d really appreciate it. I have been struggling with it for years 😢❤
i got mine from amazon! and it seems pretty authentic :) u just have to search for the right ones with actual knots in the netting. (if i can find the exact brand name i purchased mine from i will 🫡)
Ngl I have eczema and I double cleanse every day bc it clogs easily my skin care is kinda weird depending on the day so it really depends on the person but the nivea cream saved my life
7 layers of toner is INSANE… the minute i heard that, my jaw was on the FLOOR 😵💫 and thank you for advising us against dry brushing, i’d only heard of it once and was already iffy, but this confirmed my suspicion. i have pretty dry skin, so it seemed really counterproductive and like it would only contribute to the redness i sometimes get 🥲
I use the 7 layer method for my dry skin and it’s the only thing that’s made my skin actually “normal” for once. It depends on what toner you’re using to layer, but to say it’s not worth it just isn’t true.
The people who give the 'skincare tips' already have perfect skin so there's literally no difference.

UNDER TEN MINUTES
I can never buy glow recipe the fragrance just why would you put fragrance with a chemical exfoliant 😭😭
@@memonosand it smells soooo bad!
@@memonos there's actually no added fragrance in the toner, its from the natural fruit extracts they use to formulate the product
Yea and it's exfoliating and you shouldn't use it everyday

@@rosade_i have sensitive acne prone skin and the manyo oil cleanser broke me out too. I like the cosrx snail mucin tho, it helps with redness a lot

Dry brushing is so good for me despite my dry skin, its the best way to reduce strawberry legs
how many times per week?

The way the girlies on TikTok cleanse their face needs to be studied
