Coyote 3 Tent Review

- I recently bought the OEX Coyote 3 to replace my trusty 8-10 years old Vango tent which was starting to fail. Maybe I don't like change or maybe the Vango tent set the bar too high, but either way I'm not in love! Ulimately though, if you're looking for a tent that will keep you warm and dry and not break the bank...this will do the job.
I ordered mine from Blacks although there are other sellers...

Hi...Did you end up finding a different tent. I looked at the Vango 350, but the recent model has a 3000mm HH versus the older 350's that had 5000mm HH. After 'looking' a lot, to me it seems the Coyote 3 is the 'perfect' tent for its price - I just cant find anything else in the sub 200 range (My use is car camping, and the plan is to use the Coyote as a single person tent, with occasional 2 person use)
It's a brilliant tent. You will enjoy it. Best one around. I created a footprint for mine using thick builders plast sheeting.
Sounds like a great idea. ☺️ I'm sure we'll have many happy camping trips in it.
Just bought this tent, would it be okay to leave the inner attached to the outer (as long as its not wet) to pack away to make for an easier set up for the next pitch ?
I'm not sure, things could get bit tangled...but it won't hurt to try it out. ☺️
Hey, thank you for the video. Im struggling to pick between this tent, the vango omega, and the vango venture 👀 its a tough choice.

I have owned a coyote 3 for 5 years, it's a very good tent. The pole have an in-built curvature that needs to be considered when pitching. They may be hard to clip in but that goes to create tightness hence stability.
Other than that, I agree on a few design features that could be improved.
Thanks for the honest and thorough review. Im on the lookout for a decent 3 man tent with a budget of £250 is there anything you would recommend?
Thanks! ☺️ I'm not sure on the price but somebody recommended the Coleman chimney 3 to me. I'm hoping to get out to some tent shows around springtime so I can have a proper look!
@@smalladventures9021 lovely I'll go and check that out. Thank you
Hiya, thanks for the video. I bought same model and your comments resonated especially the tent pole. I’m worried I’ll snap it 😮 Happy camping ⛺️
Right?! It's such a shame, it could be a great little tent. As it is I'd really struggle to put it up on my own. We're going to push through and wait until there are some tent shows next year before switching. 😬 Happy camping to you too. ☺️
Is there a follow-up after about a year? Looking at this versus a berghaus as they are big discounts on at gooutdoors atm.
I would also always recommend an extra groundsheet in the uk. Really helps with condensation prevention
Ahh okay, never tried the extra groundsheet. Will give it a shot. ☺️ No follow-up yet...I hadn't really thought about doing one! In short though, it's still functional and we're still happy enough with it to keep going out with it. I still struggle with that tight pole and we'd still like more space sometimes, but they're not major issues!
@@smalladventures9021 cheers, that's good to know.
@smalladventures9021 we have used this several times now.
The only point I noted is that there can be some condensation in the porch area overnight (we didn't bring an extra ground sheet). So make sure that things, like clothes need to be wrapped or kept in sleeping area.
There is a lso no shelter with the doors so on exit, be ready for some rain contact and ingress.
Air flow is good especially with doors left ajar. Tent was stable on high winds. Really happy.
I would get a refund due to that snapped ring. There are plenty of alternatives on the market. If you are pitching on a site next to where you park your car, rather than hiking then weight shouldn’t be an issue
It still functions and kept us snug on a very wet trip recently, but yeah, not great. I think we're going to wait until next year for some tent shows. I'd really like to be able to get in the tent and check out some features before buying next time. Lesson learned! 😅
It's compact because it's a back packing tent
I have this tent. And from personal experience I find it easier to use the longest pole through the middle of the tent first.
Thanks for the tip...our next camping trip is soon so we can try this out. 😊
Have a look at the Coleman chimney 3 😊
Ooh, awesome - thank you. ☺️
