    The video is very good, thanks, the only problem I see is that they don't point to the pieces, when people see this video it's because we don't know many pieces and for example at minute 14:04 it talks about 5 different things and shows practically the same thing, For the beginning guys, you don't know which is which. I would say that this video would become one of the best if they put a circle or marked the piece with a red line to identify it. Thanks for the video, I will watch it many times.

      I completely understand what you're saying. The same thing happens earlier in the video when talking about the parts that make up the steering linkage. I'll speak to my boss and see if there's some way for us to update the video with the parts highlighted because I can understand how for parts like 7:16 with the steering linkage and 14:04 like where you mentioned, it can be particularly confusing. Thank you so much for your feedback!

    I'm in San Antonio Texas and I've been practicing all week on my pre-trip I have my driving lesson on the 5th of December 2022 next week, they gave us his paper to study over and plus the instructor tells us we have to say bent, broken, or cracked have for rubber flexible items it is cut, cracked, or frayed.
    But yes those are the main things to say and plus no missing screws or bolts and no leaks for for reservoirs and hoses.

      We hope your driving lesson went well! Sorry for the late reply. There are several good ways to help you remember what you should be looking for during the inspection; we have tried to cover it all with the three phrases @Habeev07 shared from the video: "Properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. No abrasions, bulges, or cuts." We hope that when you combine all three phrases, it will help you with issues you might see in flexible rubber objects, like hoses, as well as permanent metal parts like some tanks, and removable metal parts, such as lug nuts. Good luck with your test!

    I have no idea what specific parts you are talking about? When conducting a test with the DMV you are required to point at what part you are examining. It would not be hard to highlight each part being examined in this video, just change the color of the part as they are talking about it. simple.

      This video is meant to be used for all states, so we have covered the things that will be covered in (almost) all states. But you're absolutely right that you should also look at your state's CDL manual before your pre-trip inspection. The Texas CDL Manual's prologue lists ALL the parts you'll be expected to identify and inspect during your pre-trip inspection, which is a huge help, and clearance lights/lamps are included. Here is a link to that manual (completely free and able to be downloaded), and the list is on page iv at the very beginning: driving-tests.org/texas/tx-cdl-handbook/

    Question, let’s say I’m taking my test at the dmv, and the coolant reservoir is NOT proper level, what do I say? That’s it’s not proper level or it’s proper level? This is just an example because obviously I can’t actually check everything during the pre trip test. The coolant reservoir is just an example.

    • @Driving-testsOrg
      @Driving-testsOrg  2 роки тому

      You should check your levels before you go to the DMV to ensure that they're at the proper level; you don't want to start your exam and have shown that you or someone else drove to the DMV with the truck coolant reservoir at an unsafe level. Everything for your vehicle inspection needs to match the safe levels the DMV expects. Beyond that, we'll use California as an example since you didn't mention your state. Either you will be asked to examine the engine compartment, in which case you will need to show everything on the list for the engine compartment (like a coolant reservoir), which includes the coolant level, or if you are not asked to do that section of the vehicle during your vehicle inspection test, you will not be asked about the coolant level. Here is a link to everything you might be expected to check, and it's quite extensive (look at section 11.7.2): www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/handbook/commercial-driver-handbook/section-11-vehicle-inspection-test/

    What if something is not properly mounted and secured? Should I still say is properly mounted and secure or what would I need to say??

    • @Driving-testsOrg
      @Driving-testsOrg  2 роки тому +3

      Because most DMV/DOT/RMV/etc. offices require you to bring your own truck for the test, we very strongly recommend that you go through the entire pre-trip inspection BEFORE you arrive for your test. First of all, this will relieve any nervousness. Second of all, this will ensure, for your sake, that nothing is not properly mounted or secured before you arrive. The point of a pre-trip test is to show that your vehicle is safe to drive. If anything is "wrong," your vehicle will be determined unsafe to drive and you will not be allowed to continue your test. This may be determined a test failure, so we do not recommend it. You haven't mentioned what state you're in, but this page from Oklahoma, on Question 9, talks about the purpose of the pre-trip: oklahoma.gov/dps/faqs/commercial-driver-license-cdl/cdl-skills-test-faq.html Remember, after you pass your test, if it is ever discovered that something you should have checked during the pre-trip inspection is not safe/acceptable/properly mounted, you could be fined or forced to keep your truck off the road until it's fixed.

    Front of vehicle you didn’t mention the windshield or wipers

    • @Driving-testsOrg
      @Driving-testsOrg  2 роки тому

      Unfortunately, mentioning every single item that you need to know for the pre-trip inspection would create a roughly hour-long video and we weren't sure anyone would want to watch a video that long (THOUGH there are videos of pre-trip inspections that long, and they cover windshield wipers). The phrases we mention at the beginning are ones that will help you cover every detail: "properly mounted and secure" for the wipers" and "not cracked, bent, or broken" for the windshield. Hope this helps! And we WANT you to pass, so if an hour-long video covering everything, including wipers, would be helpful, maybe try this one that looks good (maybe some other people wouldn't recommend another channel's video, but we want you to be prepared): ua-cam.com/video/EfW615ZnELE/v-deo.html

    Surely you understand the crank handle is NOT depicted as secured in any fashion.

    • @Driving-testsOrg
      @Driving-testsOrg  Рік тому

      Hey! We're sorry if this wasn't clear. The video lists the condition the landing gear should be in by the end of your inspection; we show the landing gear, in particular, at an intermediate stage because that's the best way to be able to view it. Unlike some sections of the truck, some pieces of the landing gear will be less visible when stowed. So, for example, right before 15:44, it talks about ensuring that the landing gear, including the crank handle and legs, is up and checking that the legs go up and down, but as you can see, the legs are not completely stowed either, just like you mention about the crank handle, because we wanted you to be able to see them both clearly. We also don't show the legs going up and down. We hope this clarifies it, and good luck with your test!
