I used all kind of brands of skimmers over the past 8 years and i always thought of the BBK skimmers as overpriced. Till i started using one like 2 years ago, they are in a league of their own... The rd3 pumps are extremely silent, the skimmer body is well made and the performance was better then all other skimmers i owned. Yes, they cost a lot of money. But you get something really good in return. I gladly pay that little extra to run a BBK.
@Bulk Reef Supply I've the BK Mini 160 on a 200L tank which is 3 months old. It works "ok", but it's a sledgehammer right now. The rating for these is absolutely spot on. It's currently running at 60%, but I'm thinking of dialling it down to 40% and see what happens. In a year, when heavily stocked, it'll be fine.
To me customer service and support after the sale is more important. The biggest thing for me is with all these over seas company is getting parts if something happens. Seemed to be the biggest problem with vertex look at them now.
Interesting information. Still isn't it really just a basic super solidly built product with a super high quality pump? For those interested in Bubble King it would have been super confusing understanding the differences until now (great simplification guys) And do these work with like recirculating with CO2 scrubbers, automatic neck cleaners and Ozone - be good if skimmers started coming in packs with these features (RedSea has the neck cleaner)
All of the Royal Exclusive skimmers that we carry are going to be very oversized for a 22 gallon display. Most of us here at BRS would probably forgo the skimmer all together on a tank of that size, but if you're set on running one, check out some of the nano options from Tunze. Their Comline skimmers work great and are very compact.
Haha! We've been using that shot from the 52-Weeks of Reefing for about 4 years now. I assure you that little guy was moved back to the display shortly after this footage was taken.
Debating on replacing my Nyos 220 with one of these. Nyos has been nothing but more of a pain as it ages. Wondering if this is worth the cost over something like a RO 200int
Contacted RoyalExlusiv and due to running a Clarisea 5000 on my 750L they recommended a Double Cone 180 (size down essentially). Went ahead and ordered. I’ve had Nyos and Reef Octopus and never much luck. Hoping BK is the answer!
I just got a BBK Double cone 180 to replace a Vertex Apha 170. AS I was lazy and tired, I just swapped the pumps and yes, everything fit perfectly. All the tubes have the same diameters. And this Double come looks just like the Vertex Omega line, not sure what came first.

I had a bubble King about 22 years ago it was the best skimmer I've ever owned.

TJHOWELL these have seen around decades customer service are amazing.
Geez I didn’t even know people had electricity 30 years ago! That skimmer is so legit.

I may not be a math genius but $1099 is greater than $928....meaning the mini is the cheapest not he double cone. Did I miss something?
Check the 180 vs 180 and 200 vs 200 . Not always the cheapest. Mostly just pointing out that the mini’s value is about size and not price :)
3:52 did you guys notice the shrimp?

Ah... I was wondering when the Bubble King commercials would come out.
Nice
How can you justify a 1k price tag?
I got the 160 amazing skimmer
i think filters are better at sizes under 100 gallon. or at least for me
When's Thomas going to start?
His first video is almost completed. We hope to be able to upload this as soon as tomorrow :)

@@AJ-bi6ns hi, and the BK was the answer?
@@AJ-bi6ns how did RE work out??
@@Tonitune Much better than the Nyos IMO, built quality is fantastic and no audible noise

A grand + buys a lot of corals. Just saying.
These or a Nyos?
RooKi3 these all day long
I need a new skimmer
Is it just me or this looks exactly like a vertex....
They made vertex skimmers for them at one point :)
