I tried his diet (80/10/10). By the third day I was puking. I was following the diet to a T, using the recipe guide in the book. Day three I had some pears for lunch and lost them all over the parking lot at the store. I can’t help now but wonder if perhaps I have a fructose intolerance. I’m back on the McDougall starch based diet. I do great with starch. But fruit I can’t seem to handle that much.
I eat fruit all of the time. But not exclusively. I eat a lot of starch like rice and sweet potatoes but I do fine with those. I think it’s hypoglycemia. I think the fruit only diet messes with my blood sugar. I just don’t think that’s a good diet for me. I do better eating cooked food. Everyone is different. I no longer believe that there is a right diet for everyone. With my genetic heritage I think the best diet for me is one based on whole cooked grains, vegetables, fruit, seeds, nuts and lean meats and fish. My ancestors would have eaten bread, rice and corn as their staples. Along with fish and meat. With vegetables and some fruit, mainly cold weather fruit like berries and apples. They would not have had access to fruit year round. I think you need to look at your ethnic heritage to figure out what your best diet would be. If in doubt. Follow the My Plate guidelines. That’s a good general rule of thumb for health I think.
Thanks for this Chef AJ. A little trick my dad taught me was to put a couple of the leaves and a little bit of the stock of celery blended in the blender into fresh homemade salsa. Gives it a fresh kick. 😋
@@CHEFAJ Yes AJ, it does work quite ok, thank you so much for all the work or maybe play you do.. I am a friend of Darshana and got to know you through her..
Since listening to Chef AJ about 6 weeks ago... I've bought a blender, a microwave, air fryer... looks like dehydrator is on the cards... lol any one i should buy or avoid?
@@struthadragon8656 That's great!! The brand AJ recommended is one of the best! I have an inexpensive one, don't remember the brand. Have a look online - defo go for a rectangular shaped one, rather than a round/donut shaped one - I had one of those and you can't make large sheets of things 😉
I love kale stem though 😃 This was awesome! Thank you.
same!
Ann Esselstyn says to give kale stems to the dog to play with. Lol
@@jgrysiak6566 I’ve never not eaten mine 😂 plus I’m allergic to dogs 😅
@@ridwanaisla8183 , me neither!

23 and Me also gives you information for fructose intolerance
@ Just Another Runner, wondering if that’s a detox symptom. Is it a reaction to all fruit? Certain ones? Sometimes our bodies are just that toxic.

My dogs love kale sticks for a treat. They all come running when I start de stemming kale 🐶
I know the raw foodist that said it for the first time. I wont reviel his name, as he since redacted that statement.
Excellent demonstration :) Dr Graham very thorough as always
Always remember the water in food helps fill us up! When u dehydrate everything u raise the calorie density of the food!
He said 200 g of kale which he said is about 1/2 lb and in this recipe it says 2 Kg which would be 2 lb of kale! Which is correct?
I would guess 2 lb.
I haven’t found science either way. Hahaha love it. I love listening to Dr Graham he has a lifetime of experience to share 🤩
Hi chef Aj you look beautiful
Thank you so much 😀
What’s the name of fruit he said is his absolute favorite, besides the one he’s eating?😆
chempedak/cempedak
The B reville also has a dehydrating option for people without an Excalibur dehydrator
Have you used the dehydrating function, and how did it work?

I eat kale every day steamed and in my big salad every day
I love it on Ezekiel bread toast, buttered with Dijon mustard & salt free seasoning!
Simply delicious 😋. I like the title of the book 📕. 📕. 📕. Thank you so much dr (also I like. Kale 🥬 ships 🌷❤️
Where are the show notes? I cannot find them today for some reason
Yum, love kale and love kale chips!! 💚🌿😋
Love anything crunchy!
I put the collard, swiss chard or kale stems in my smoothies.
Dr Esselstyn says to steam & chew greens for maximum benefits. Don't drink your calories!
@Peter Rabbit - Pianist-Composer ♫, no, we strip the kale off the stems & steam it & throw the stems away!
