It's Djursholm, THE posh area around Stockholm - which explains the price. And yes, it's location. You'll get a hall (as in "herrgård") for that price. I'd buy that over the house in Djursholm every day in year.
The 50M Gotland house = summer cottage for some billionaire. Or asafe space. It looked like you could close the whole thing down so it would just look like some boring pile of shipping containers when needed. Like when you're not there. Tranås? An 8M + house in Tranås? I guess some people want to live there too. And Lake Sommen is nice. On the other hand, Mariefred (the house that was close-ish to Stockholm) is a gorgeous little town, famous for its museum railroad, the very gorgeous Gripsholm castle, and for the S/S Mariefred steamboat taking passengers to and from Stockholm throughout the summer. Well worth a visit! Also, not really surprised to find some really cheap house somewhere in Småland. Parts of Småland have notoriously poor communications and aren't really popular places to live. On the other hand Småland has many picturesque little coastal towns. And also, Germans used to (and maybe still do) buy houses in those unattractive places in central Småland to have as summer cottages!
When it comes to these cheaper houses, you should expect some required expanses, that might cost 2 times the price of the house. A new septic system can be required by the county environmental department, and be 150 to 200 thousand Swedish crowns. If the drinking water is not usable, or is difficult to purify this can add 50 to 100 thousand. A better heating system might be needed, in particular in Northern Sweden, which can cost another 100 thousand or more. And this might also require better insulation. The roof might leak, or the basement might require drainage, which means another 100 to 200 thousand crowns. And these are not cosmetic issues but expanses that could be difficult to avoid. Either because the authorities demand it or that the running costs for the house becomes too high otherwise.
Ah, one of my favourite pass-times...looking at swedish houses. 😂 My (Swedish) husband and i plan to buy one someday, with a big plot so i can garden and have my chickens and goats and sheep. 😊 But right now I'm sitting in Scotland, shelling peas and enjoying your videos. Thank you!
I love these videos. I especially like the Swedish style houses. I’m not so sure I’d like to live in northern Sweden but would love to visit. The “bed and breakfast” house was definitely my favorite!
I just bought a house in that village, its beautiful. My wife if from there. You can get quite large pieces of land for your house for basically nothing up there. I got half a hectare or 1.35 acres with the house for the eq of 47 000 USD.
Hi Ulli?🙂 I rent a 45 square meter apartment in Karlskrona and i am quite happy with that😁but i must admit that the houses 🏘 🏘 you are showing us looks very nice but way to big for me😵 I like the video as always 🥰
Hmmm.... who builds a house that is finished in 2024 and sells it directly for SEK 78 million, very strange. With the big money, that clientele is very narrow.
I disliked most of the fancy house new houses because they lacked character. The exception is the Gotland house which had “his and hers” bathtubs; the plan was unique (uhhh maybe the drawbridge was too unique 😆 ) but the fixtures where high-end and well placed by a designer and architect. The Gothenburg house looked like it was designed for new money, American taste (very common here in Los Angeles and very barf 🤮 ). I would like for you do a video list with median-priced homes $200 to 800k homes. IF YOU’RE SWEDISH AND READING THIS: PLEASE STOP PAINTING YOUR INTERIORS WITH INSTITUTION GREY AND TITANIUM WHITE 🤪😘

Yeh, definitely something to look into before buying such a house.

Thanks for your feedback! I'm happy to make another video with medium priced houses :)
I love these videos ❤. All these houses were too big and bland and bleak furnishings 🤢
Thanks for your feedback! I will make sure to find some more unique houses next time ;)
