@@eurotechca i have 08 380 000km and make this knock. You said it was dpf clogged. Did you have check engine light on? My car has no check engine light on what so ever related to emission dpf ,egr,etc...
How did you know it was dpf that cause this?
Sorry for late reply. Given the service history of this engine, we concluded that was the cause.

Great video ! Good job….!!! Sorry to bother you, I just swapped my engine on a W164 and have difficulty lining it up to the transmission…. Cause of the angle, height etc etc. Is it recommended to do that part with help from anyone. Or should it be a one man job ?

Can I do this on a 2008 ml350? Disassemble the front bumper frame etc and remove engine that way?

Did you have to reprogram to ECU or anyting if it's the same year motor I'm doing the same thing right
I'm not sure if you 100% need to, but I did reset all engine related parameters using ISTA
The E320 has OM642 too but it looks different than the Sprinters engine. Do you think I can still do a swap of those engines?
They made multiple om642 engines with varying outputs. Although they are interchangeable for the most part, It's best to match your engine codes best you can.

On a 2010 ml cdi 350 ( 6 cylinder 3.0l)
If the intercooler or the engine had a major issue, i am toying with the idea of putting in an an american muscle car chevy type engine nothing crazy but seen some new v8 430hp engines.
Is it possible to do a transplant?
Are the electronics just too difficult to overcome with various computers for different functions of the vehicle ie getting suspension and driving modes to talk to the new engine?

I have a R320 CDI and I am planning to swap it on a Ml320 Bluetec. Are they interchangeable and what else you think might be needed? I am sure both are 0m642
I'm not 100% sure but I would compare the oil pans first and foremost

Hi Bro. Can you tell me what did you do with gearbox during and after engine removal? Did you supported gearbox when it was without engine or it was fix free ? Regards from Poland.
Thanks for watching! I used a block of wood and floor jack to support the gearbox and made sure the wood was on the aluminum, not the plastic oil pan.

Does this ml350 2007 engine has a turbocharger?
Yes it does.
Just done same thing except mine was a runaway diesel which effed my 2010 om642 engine up! Diesel in oil burnt in injectors ect
One more thing,i was getting blocked dpf codes before this happened so im sure this was to blame for it.Very scarey when you cant turn car off and it red lines smoke everywhere!
Absolutely, runaway diesels are intense!
I just replaced my engine and I can't get it to start up. I was afraid to use ether until I saw you do it. Im in the US and the engine I put in there is from Canada. Do I have to have anything reprogrammed or should I be ok?
You should be OK. As far as I know, no need to reprogram anything. Be sure to not use TOO much ether. Also make sure there is no air in your fuel system

@@eurotechca before the install my transmission was running perfect. now after the install, it drove just fine. now its making a noise when I put it gear and it doesn't move. any idea of what that could be?

@Hustlehard The knock was coming from a bad connecting rod bearing. It was all cause by a plugged DPF. Thanks for watching! 👍👊

1600$ was the labour charge, not including any supplies. I can only do it in warm months
i see thats not a bad price, i already have the engine and i already fiding the time to do it this weekend, did you swap the injectors from the old engine to the new used engine or you just use the one in the new used engine, and did you had to program the injectors?

Found a used engine from a junkyard with 210000kms. Price was 4500$ CAD
