You know it's funny when most of the fans of the Pokémon Anime series mention who exactly would be the one that Ash Ketchum would fall in love with (provided that his density doesn't get in the way) and gets married in the future (once there's no threats from dastardly villains like Team Rocket). Of course, one must take this to account that most of the Pokégirls that Ash traveled with in the past, especially with the bonds they have with each other, can be described as just being friends or siblings interaction. Some may say that Serena is the one for Ash, but the thing is (and from what I heard), there really isn't much of a chemistry between the pair, and honestly, I just don't understand as to why most fans of the series would ship these two together, and it can't be just because they look cute together, or that they met in their childhood days, there has to be another reason as to why the pairing between the two is the case. Regardless, I'm sure that someone else would be the right girl for Ash to finally fall in love when he grows up (ashamed that his and Pikachu's story has to end before anything else can be resolved if you know what I mean).
I always thought that it would be Misty and Ash in the end.
Strangely enough, I had this imagination of a Pokémon Movie where this one would take place after Pokémon Journey: Aim to be a master which has Ash visiting his friends/former classmates and his parents figure and Lei for the celebration of his achievement of becoming the world's champion after defeating Leon. There Ash's Pikachu along with Lillie's Alolan Vulpix, Kiawe's Alolan Marowak, Lana's Eevee, Mallow's Tsareena, and Sophocle's Togedemaru finds themselves in the presence of an old fortune teller who proceeds to show them the future 10 years from now, not just Ash Ketchum, but also the rest of his friends, family, and rivals on what where there at now, what they're careers are, and importantly who do they end up being married to. For someone like Ash, well that's kind of a mystery that I'm not entirely sure of, but one things for certain: Serena is definitely not the one for him (no means of disrespect or anything). Also, this would be strictly both Romance/Drama, not a lot of Pokémon Battles going on.
To be honest and as someone who watched the show till Alola, there are only two girls who have had the most evidence to support the ship and it’s Serena and Misty. The only one that actually made a move on him was Serena. We don’t see their faces but it’s obvious she kissed him on the lips. If it was on the cheek it would’ve been shown.
May has a crush on Drew, Dawn is more of a friend and she has the choice between Kenny and Paul. Iris could go to H*ll for all I care because she was the most annoying character.
