Oh my stars! This is so easy. The pattern I am making had me fastening off at the end of each round (no turning the work) and starting each row anew, which means I had many tails to weave in. Thank you!
Thankyou so much for this tutorial, I taught myself to make a hexagon baby blanket when I was pregnant with my son 18 years ago but could never work out how to make the half hexagon, now I can!!!
If you are making bigger hexagons! : The ‘middle’ row of stitches is always the number you have on that round with a full sized hexagon, the other two edges will always be 1stitch less, e.g. 3,4,3 on the second row or 5,6,5 on the third row. The ‘middle’ row should also be an even number (2,4,6,8,10 stitches). Hope this helps! Thank you for this tutorial Bella :)
I was sooooo excited to see that you were going to upload a tutorial on how to crochet the half hexagon on Instagram!!! I'm working on a blanket and I was sooooo happy to see that I would now be able to make the edges straight! Thank you!!!!😊
thank your for this awsome tutorial bella coco. You are the best tutorial youtube for crocheting that I watch. I am always looking forward to your videos everyweek! I hope you have a great day every day!
When i made your pattern i added another round with the same color for all to be able to make it seamless on the back. The last round was a multi color yarn Michael's craft ombre Festa. Thanks for the pattern. I also had to modify the 1/2 hexagon to 3 sides with 8 and the bottom flat side with 1 2 DC.
i know im asking randomly but does anybody know of a method to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Graysen Allen Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I've tried and tried to figure out this pattern and I've NEVER been able to master it, first time I tried watching your video and I picked it up instantly... Thank you soooooooo much. I've just learnt how to make the half hexagon aswell so my blanket is coming on nicely..... My question is what do I do with the other side?...The little "triangle " shape bit at the side? Please help!,....xx
Thank you. You are so clear with your instructions. If I wanted make a boarder to square it all up how do I do that? It would be really helpful if you could do a video to show this please.
Hi bella dear...I'm watching your hexagon crochet after 4 years and your explanation is so clear.I have already completed my blanket and now i will crochet the half hexagon. But i have no idea how to crochet a border on both the V sides of my blanket. If you have a link where your explain how to crochet borders for hexagon pattern please send me the link.thank you dear
Happy to hear you’ve found my tutorial helpful 😊 I don’t have a video tutorial for this but it’s simple to do - you would work along the sides of the hexagon as you would normally and then treat each one of the points as a corner by making three stitches into one. This will ’turn’ you round so that you can work along the next side. When you get to the bottom of the ‘V’ skip the centre and continue working into the next hexagon. I hope this helps! 😊
Found this and thank you for the video. I completed the blanket but the other two ends are not straight. The half hexagon will not fit properly. What is the pattern for making the two other sides straight? I love your videos. Thank you
You’re welcome! 😊 The half hexagon won’t fit on the other sides of the blanket. Lots of people leave these as they are, which looks great 😊 But if you wanted to you could try filling them in by using stitches of different heights (starting with a double crochet and progressing down to a treble or double treble and then reversing again (UK terms).
HI, i love your tutorial, I've made a baby blanket using the hexagons and i am now trying to do the half hexagons for the edges...but mine keep ending up with a 'v' shape instead of a straight edge! do you have any advice for me ? Thank you
I was wondering if you can do a video on half solid granny square (triangle)? I am wanting to make a solid granny square blanket and I am having a hard making a half solid granny square. Thank you in advance. :)
Since you crochet in the non pencil grasp, does your wrists ever hurt? I'm having trouble trying to switch from s grip like yours to a pencil grip so it doesn't hurt as much 🙃
Everyone holds their hook slightly differently, I can be difficult to find a way that doesn't hurt or make your hand and wrist ache, you must rest if you find it really hurting :)
