Aubrey, I don't think you made a $2,800 profit on a Hyundai Elantra in one month. I was trying to wrap my head around that, just seems way too high for that car in your area. When I paused the video, it says you rented it out to one person for 2 months for that price. That's $1,400 a month, more realistic.
I perosnal look at the hyrecar acquisition as a positive . Hyrecars major issue was they had more renters than they did cars while getaround has too many cars and not enough renters . Hoping adding hyrecars clients to getsround boosts demand . We shall see Ive seen the same drop off in denver i have over 60cars and about 20 on getaround and demand plummeted due to their increase in deposits . Last couple weeks it seems like they have slightly lowered depsoits and demand is starting to increase While they never allowed full pricing control hosts use to be able to adjust their pricing within the algorithm on a little slider which was really nice . From my understanding that feature is still in the San Francisco market .hopefully they bring it back
They forget that most of the drivers on the Uber program are usually living paycheck to paycheck and can't afford the large deposits they are requiring.
@aubreyjanik Great content. So here in Los Angeles I got the idea to do car sharing when I used Getaround. I have been a part time Uber driver for about 6 years so anytime my car was in the shop I discovered Getaround and Hyrecar. When I first used Getaround years ago, the guy I rented from had about 4 or 5 Toyota Prius's. When I meet him again years later to rent another car to Uber in, he now has a fleet of 20+ cars and does this full time... almost all of them exclusively Toyota Prius 2010-2014 or so. These are absolute workhorses and rented out all the time as these are the #1 car that a Uber/Lyft/ delivery driver would want because of the excellent fuel economy and reliability. At least here, these cars are booked up almost year round. No one seems to care about mileage as Toyotas are pretty much the best quality vehicles even if they have 150k + miles on them. I would strongly suggest a Hybrid Toyota for the Getaround / Hyrecar platform if nothing else just due to the fact that it would have the best odds of being rented out by gig economy workers almost throughout the year. Those are my 2 cents. Hope that helps.
They're terrible. I listed a 2022 Lexus on there and on two occasions, my car wouldn't start. I never imagined that the device installed in my car was the cause. I got my car towed by the dealer and found out that their device was the reason. I ended up paying $540 out of pocket to get the car fixed. They had the nerve to tell me that I should have called them first. Like, I should've known that as soon as they installed their device, my car would start acting up. They won't give me a refund. I am extremely upset with them for this. I will never list a car with them ever again.
Take them to a small claim court lol...joking aside they should pay for your tow b/c it is their fault. They just refused straight? That will force any host to leave or want to leave.
How many hours do you spend per week to manage cars on Turo? Any positive update from getaround? Any getaround hosts in Los Angeles and surrounding areas - how are they doing?
It’s the risk technology rollout. That’s why you and others are getting no bookings. They didn’t communicate this to anyone so hosts are wondering why they’re getting no bookings. It’s happening to everyone the last few months.
Yea the risk tech is killing GA. because most people that rent our cars don’t have $1000-$1500 to be tied up with a security deposit for their whole rental time plus 7days. 🤞🏻 they get their heads on straight very very soon. They have 1 more month for me or I will be tapping out as well.
Well my car made your video, it has been a complete 180 with them and bookings! Of course that happens right as I bought my third car. Hopefully this makes them wake up and realize they need a fix and fast!
It happened literally as I bought my second car, so I know the feeling...agree, maybe they can catch the falling knife, but I am willing to bet I am not the only host leaving!
@Aubrey Janik it's going to take host leaving and respected car sharing host like yourself and Alex providing feedback to make changes. Appreciate the content!
i was going to put my car on getaround but they wanted me to pay $90 before starting to pay for them to put the gps in my car not doing that lol if they took the $90 out of my earnings that would be nice
Same here. No reservation in last 5 weeks when cars on Turo is fully booked. I still love their device that can track, manage fuel and allow remote lock. Can anything on the market do the same? Would love to have them on my Turo cars.
Is this because of you area?- I’m in Inglewood Cali (los Angeles) and as gig driver I see a deficit over here and curious if I could make money from that option.
It’s a great market for Hyrecar but Hyrecar has a notoriously bad reputation for hosts, i don’t see the hyrecar acquisition as a selling point because I’d their poor reputation. Agree on the pricing!
It’s odd that you left get around when your highest performing car was on the platform. And you said you had just made around $2500 in one month just a few months before this video was recorded. It seems like you just aren’t loyal.
This is embarrassing. Aubrey clearly knows nothing about mergers and acquisitions, she was so out of her depth when talking about why Getaround might acquire HyreCar. (also, here's a novel idea: You wouldn't have to talk so fast {and so monotonous} if you edited your script better; translation: cut your repetitive script down by 1/3 and slow your robot voice down by 1/3). || And in case anyone's wondering: I just watch her to know what dumb normies are thinking (it helps me to see how wrong she is).

Kind like a niche car for him for uber drivers. Nice!
The problem in Feb of 2024 is finding insurance.
So it's a new problem or was finding insurance an issue in past years?
New background looks 🔥
Thank you! Still perfecting it...yours looks pretty sweet too!
@@AubreyJanik thanks Aubrey
I actually like GA more but just could not get the customers

Yeah, I've heard the same thing...I wasn't ever able to confirm it so I didn't want to mention it in the video. Seems like a huge ball was dropped
@@AubreyJanik the accident rate has plummeted which is good. But they didn’t anticipate the 3 month demand dropoff.

@@DDbyVV it’s supposed to be fixed shortly FYI. They’ve been saying the deposits are decreasing.

That's because Getaround is charging 1500 deposit to rent a car from you all. That is just an insane amount to charge to use someone else's car
@@nikki6522 In my opinion is a whole lot better to do this and scare off these damn thiefs off the platform

I am in Chino Hills area 40 min from LA. Not a host yet just researching. Thx for input.
any of u now how do i pay then the invoices?
Why doesn’t she respond to comments!!? 😢
Ha ha.... GA would be great if they allowed hosts to price their own vehicles. They allow gig workers which is a great market and acquired HyreCar.

what color
Nobody wants to rent a Hyundai. The guy renting your Hyundai was using it to work to buy a Toyota.
😂
I guess stay away from Hyundai or KIA, stick with Toyota or Honda.
Not true
Still waiting for 3 claim payouts with getaround in New York, maybe thats why they left New York..
I never heard of Getaround.

😂Expended my fleet (1 vehicle)😂
I wish I could GetAround 😹😎
