Can you explain the insurance you get on your cars in details please, do you get liability only and rely on Turo for physical damage? Liability amount? How much it costs a month? Do you decline medical? Thank you
Ive had toyotas the past 40 yrs...and loved them . The most reliable toyota right now is the 4 runner, because it is made in Japan. Lately, the past 5 yrs or so many of them made in usa ....have not been consistant. The 4 runner, meanwhile, has the MPG of a fiftys vehicle. These days i like the reliability of Mazda,
Fast in a straight line.. around any corner.. having fun driving.. Toyotas do that wrong, and I'd never rent one. Reliable and cheap parts.. but all wrong imo
I had a brand new 2013 Sentra. 3 years ac went out and eventually after 7 years kept breaking down. Nissan was Never was able to diagnose it. Probably transmission.
Also if anyone watched doug demuro he did a vid on the mitsubishi mirage. He showed how much of a chappy car it was and it was super cheap but not in a good way. It didn't even have power steering
Love your videos but in your top 10 to buy you said the ford focus 2012 was good. In this video your saying that it is not. Probably just a mistake in the years could you please clarify.
I had a Hyundai Sanata FE 2.2 diesel Automatic 4wd drive. Excellent engine, excellent car, very good fuel milage. Super reliable. Get a dieser and no worries... However i have no idea how common they are in US.
Had me in my feelings about your comment on the BMW 3-series. I have to two of them. Putting one on the platform next week and my BMW 328i coupe is doing pretty good on the ROI, but I will agree they can be pricey to repair. Make friends with a German car repairman. It will save you some bucks :)
just depends on your market, and its just her opinion, I'm getting ready to put a BMW on turo in hawaii, I think I will be fine, plus I can wrench my own BMW.. go for it bro, let me know how you do, and what state you are in. Peace
I only have BMWs on Turo. They do great, and I’ve literally had no problems with them outside of regular maintenance. I’ve got a great oil-service plan with BMW that costs next to nothing, and there are plenty of good euro mechanics in my area charging 10% of what the dealerships charge. People love these cars, and want to rent them!
Great advice I totally agree with hyundai (howyoudie) , totally stay away from kia and hyundai, ford, the best cars are toyota where you only needs your fluids, tires and brakes...
Question do get more local guest or to you deal more with airport guest? I'm looking to get a second vehicle for turo and all my trips have been from airport guest I'm in Tampa fl
Recently it has been a lot of people coming to Dallas, but I think a big part of that is Summer/Post-Pandemic Travel. Historically it's been mostly local
@@AubreyJanik ok currently I have a convertible mustang and in FL it's doing really well but after watching your video on best cars I'm actually considering selling it with the market how it is I'd make a profit and getting a Toyota Prius what's your thoughts?
Ask me about a Ford Fiesta and the transmission issue? Go ahead, ask me? Such a great car to be saddled with such a terrible transmission. Ford let the car out knowing the transmission was bad. When my daughter's transmission died, it was about 900 miles over the 100,000 extended warranty. $1,500 later I got the issue fixed and sold the car for $3,000.
I'm surprised you didn't add the Honda CR-V in the list, especially 2011. I got a 2011 Honda CR-V and it has some mechanical issues and nearly impossible to fix cause it's so expensive. A new engine and Transmission by it's self will cost me around $10,000-$20,000 if I were to get it repaired at the shop that I got the car at. The vehicle is only worth maybe $4,000-9,800 depending on the year and model of the car. I'm paying $14,000 for the car. I had the car for a year and a half and it's have issues with the vehicle. Lesson learned NEVER BUY A HONDA CR-V and expect it to be a good car for you.
Wow, I am sorry to hear! I have had a really great experience with Hondas in general, but I have not owned a CRV...really good to know, thank you for sharing! Though sorry this happened
Same thing as Honda Odyssey is those years. Certain years of Honda has issues with transmission. I would rather get Kia and Hyundai nowadays instead of Honda. Yes Toyota is great. No, Honda is not what it used to be. Same as Acura.
I really miss the old UA-cam descriptions of the videos that just pretty much described the video instead of having somebody talk for so long if I want all this information I will stay for the view, but I just wanna see the bullet point
Thank you for your sharing your knowledge. Lots of common sense on your part. Jags, porshes, corvettes all sound cool. Not at all practical. I like your thought process. Again than you.
LOL @ The types of people who purchase and bring in Audi's for service. That's me! My Turo guests and profit margins in the Miami market LOVE my Audi. So much so that I am adding two more this month.
I have a Camry Le 2008 I bought 4 years unfortunately it hasn’t been what I expected. Already spend over 4K in car repair overs the last 2 years & probably gonna have top replace evap system & tires. I’m planningto sell it then buy a new Honda civil before it brakes down again 😤
agree with the beetle being niche, however vw parts are plentiful and cheap. i don't know why they get such a reputation of being expensive to repair. they specialize in economy cars and share parts for all their vehicles (especially anything on mqb platform)
I have a Mini Cooper Countryman! It stays gone the problem is the maintenance 😢😢😢. It is expensive. If I had to do it again I would lease one to avoid the maintenance costs
Advice number 1 : Never buy a car for Turo with more than 60K Miles on it , considering you could easily get 20K miles/year with Turo rentals and if you plan on keeping the car for at least 3 years do the math. Any car of any brand after the 90K miles threshold is subject to bigger issues such as transmission etc.. if you think long term that will help
Only investment in Audi if you are a good mechanic or know a good one yourself. The dealership will quote you the price of the car itself for regular maintenance smh. Brakes are 1700 for all 4 with resurfaced rotors at the dealership! But they are beautiful!!
Stay away from Nissan .my pathfinder cvt went out in the first 30 days and at 97k Miles. Glad I had the Geico extended warranty. Paid 250 to replace transmission.
Happy Top 10 Tuesday!
Thank you 😊

I just love the way you clearly say things. You are awesome!!
Hi Aubrey!! Really thank you so much for all these valuable informations.
What I love about your videos is that you get to the point right away

Can an 18 yo be a turo host? I'm thinking of getting my son his first car to start out in a few months when he turns 18
Damn I already bought a Nissan sentra before watching this. So far so good. Fingers crossed 🤞
Fiancé’ Santa Fe had blown the head casket twice in 1 year lol
2021 Sentra Nissan don't have cvt, those are good for the turo platform
I had a brand new 2013 Sentra. 3 years ac went out and eventually after 7 years kept breaking down. Nissan was Never was able to diagnose it. Probably transmission.
How about a Chevy Spark or the Honda Fit? There are a lot of cars that are totally absent from my Turo market. Not sure why.
Also if anyone watched doug demuro he did a vid on the mitsubishi mirage. He showed how much of a chappy car it was and it was super cheap but not in a good way. It didn't even have power steering
I’d like to see an updated version
How about Honda Insight 2019 hybrid? Can anyone add some advice for adding this car on TURO?
Thank you Aubrey, this was super, I almost bought some of these cars, but backed out. Thank you. 😊
what do yo think is better have 2 or 3 expensive cars or 6-7 cheap cars?
Really informative, Thanks.
You forgot the Nissan Altima i would add it next to the Sentra
Was hoping to escape the list I did half way but I have a VW Passat’16 I’m looking to put on the platform end of this month is this a good idea
It would be nice if one had a list with years on the right side along with car names
What about 2014 ford fusion?
Had my fingers crossed the whole time that my cars wouldn't be on this list! We escaped! Thanks!
What do you have?
I bought my first Turo car. 2014 Hyundai Sonata; 106K miles; $7.4K How did I do?
Not bad as long as you arent above market you should be ok.
Parts are pretty cheap for Hyundai as well.
What does H.P. stand for I wonder?
I absolutely love your videos. Thank you!!!!
We had a Nissan Altima.
It caught fire.
😬
😂☠️
Thats such a bummer about nissan sentra. What are your thoughts on the newer Ford Escape? Still reliable?

How's 2013-2014 Ford Escape?
