NGL this video is pretty entertaining, it's still a shame that things went wrong, but your "oooh...." reaction got a bit of a chuckle out of me. And sometimes we need videos like these to show us "what not to do and why", well done for not giving up on the project, it still turned out beautiful.
I always enjoy the longer videos because after the first few minutes sink in it somehow becomes meditative and induces the feeling that there’s no outside world to worry about; similar to how Bob Ross videos feel.
Thank you. That's exactly why I started making them: to help people in this way. I get exactly the same feeling from watching videos by Luke Towan, Terranscapes, etc..

I really appreciate the way that you show your mistakes and how you repaired them. It is beneficial to those of us who are going to be building dioramas in the future. Your work of art is fabulous.
It it's much more educational to see someone make mistakes that anyone could make, and then correcting them, or explaining how to overcome them. Thank you so much for this awesome video!
Fascinating. Thank you for explaining the process and products. So many of these video types are silent. Liked that you didn’t edit the “mistakes “ as it was very informative. Beautiful piece.
@@tcsyme Yes, it's like charging for your time as an artist. I will always charge based on the time I've spent over the years establishing my skills, but charging for time on a specific project would often make it unaffordable. No-one should work for free, but I also work for fun. That said, whenever anyone accuses me of not being fair by charging for written tutorials, etc., I become even more sure that I'm right for charging.
The rocks are just amazing, and I actually really like the water effect and colour that you've created; thanks for sharing, a really interesting watch.
I came here because I wanted to make sewage water for my TMNT diarrhea, which I’m hoping to attend for the first time and ended up watching this soothing video for ages. Don’t think I can do this. This is brilliant.
Well done! Your narration, rock carving and finished project are all top drawer. The best I’ve ever seen. Despite your difficulties. You honesty is greatly appreciated. I’ll look for more from you. Please get a real knife!
Beautiful River. I have been to the Blue Ridge Mountains in the States. It's a beautiful place. You diorama is beautiful as well. A piece of a beauty I cherish. Appreciate ya. One Day, I'll give it a goo.
Very awesome. As a fly fisher the idea of making a diorama of some of the prettiest stretches of my favorite streams is very exciting. Thanks for the inspiration.

Be careful guys . Just commented here to a awareness so that it does not happen with you all which happened to me . Literally sooo sad 🥺🥺🥺🥺
I've used that block before when making terrain. I use a bent gouge wood chisel (spoon style) on it, and it worked perfectly for me. But I didn't use it to make a river scene this detailed. I absolutely love how this turned out. If brave enough, I might try my hand at this in the near future.
This is perfect for one of my sculpting projects I'm working on. I'm making a sea monster. The head /neck just finished baking. Going to painting tomorrow then eork on the middle body rising and driving back into the water along with the tail coming up. Never used resin so I'll have a few practice runs before making the final water diorama base to connect the clay pieces. Thanks!

I appreciate seeing and hearing what went wrong, as well as what went right, because it’s a learning experience for all of us. And you fixed everything so we got to see how you accomplished those fixes. Great tutorial. Thank you.
Hi ya Merrick, just dropped by to see what you’ve been up to. Interesting foam product. A denser florist foam. It certainly lent itself to beautiful rock faces. Beautiful. Your sculpting talents are impressive. You should get yourself a set of clay sculpting tools. So... the heat of the torch created the reaction. Unfortunate. Your results are stunning as always. I’m so pleased your channel is doing so well. And all your other ventures also. Okay. Great stuff. Sorry you guys are locked down again. Take care. See ya next time.
Yes, a clay sculpture tool shaped like an elongated ‘U’ might be helpful here. These tools are sharp and can be drawn along horizontally to carve out channels.
WOW I knew I had alot to learn and learn alot I did watching this project unfold. Fantastic job and thank you for sharing this. I am now a subscriber of yours 😎👊
The river looks amazing! I've found that the bubbles form do to the foam reacting to the heat produced by the epoxy curing. A solution that seems to work for me is applying a thin layer of pve glue and then painting on a layer of resin on first. Once cured ill go ahead and do the full pour of resin
wow, what can i say, i have only made 2 dioramas, and i have learnt s o much just from this one video of yours, the way you carved the stone in to the rock was amazing, i thought that they were moulds, the water looks amazing, if i did not watch it all i would have never know that you had any issues looks truly amazing. well done, if ever would love to meet you and learn so much more.
For the bubbles, I've seen on another channel that gently blowing with the mouth helps to get rid off them. Anyway, fantastic result and captivating artwork. Very well done!!
It's not blowing that helps get rid of bubbles in epoxy resin but the carbon dioxide from your breathing. You could also wave the flame of a blow torch above it but be careful not to burn anything. Again, it's CO2 that helps ease the bubbles out of freshly poured resin.
That's the kind of thing i'd like to do in the future, if i have any future
Or skill
The way the price of epoxy is going means you'll have a lovely little river in the future, just no home to live in.

I feel like the bubbles make it much more river like. Like a perfectly stagnate river would be a VERY concerning sight
Yeah I agree
agreed
Agree, stagnant water is full of disease
k je
those bubbles would be wildly disproportionate to the actual size of the river.. maybe if you were creating a toxic swamp

Magnificent work of the mountain river diorama! A very well deserved like. You are like the Bob Ross of dioramas! Great work.
Had a few craft based tantrums myself but I guess it's how we learn. Your end result is wholly worth the effort put in and is so realistic.
Cheers Dave. Yes, I totally agree. (About the learning from mistakes bit.)

Yes and no. I maintain that you don't need patience to do something you enjoy, and he is clearly having fun with these lovely dioramas.
