Much respect to the owner of this car. I hate how people act like a v6 mustang is the worst thing in the world. V6 is the best set up to me for daily/power.
They both have their positive aspects but at the end of the day no one wants to continue to daily drive a v8 that gets 12mpg. When the economy took a shit I saw so many people trading in mustang gt and lifted pick ups for Prius and ford fiestas lol.
Well MPG isn't to bad now on the GT's but you're right unless you're finically stable go with the 5.0, I have a 2015 v6 I love it. Feel free to check out my videos on here.
I never got why people hated on the 2011+ V6 Mustangs. It's not a GT but for the price, you got a lot of power an you can mod the crap out of them. Clean car man!
+PowerofMetal247 No idea man. Absolutely nothing wrong with the V6 mustang. You want a V8? Get a V8, no need to trash the V6, its a great motor. And I'm not sure why people think V6 engines sound bad, they are higher pitched then the V8s, and I quite enjoy that.
Reason I don't like it, is because it's a american muscle car. Not a foreign. Meaning it doesn't sound right, or go right. I mean I love turbo 4 cars and v6's and shit but when you put it in something that is suppose to be a muscle car, it's just isn't right and honestly pretty gay. If it's a "muscle car" it has to be a V8. Mustang v6 and turbo 4 just aren't cool.
I think it's good because you can get closer to the limit on public roads from the lower displacement engine, and that's always fun. Sure the Coyote is a howling beast, but not always necessary for fun factor. Nice car, nice vid!
Farrah is doing awesome on these reviews with people's cars. Finally, we can see other people's projects instead of hand picked cars that sucks from corporate TV shows haha.
Nothing at all wrong with modifying a V6, especially 3.7 models. I started out modifying a V6 and this guy basically quoted me word for word on the philosophy at the time. Then I got my 5.0 and later Shelby GT500 models.
This was surprisingly one of my favorite one takes to date! The car was a very solid build and the owner seemed like a knowledgeable and genuinely awesome dude! Keep it up, Sir Farah!
I was in market for a used 350z and bought a brand new v6 mustang in 2012 because of matts review, he got me off the rice and now I love american cars! :)
I ordered this car for him and the track pack that his dad has. I recall when ordering his car he is a genuine gearhead and extremely dedicated to this car. he's since stripped the interior and has done a lot of track racing. I've sold plenty of Mustangs in the past and he's one of the few people who have used this car for what it's meant for.
I am continually awed by how some of your guinea pigs are able to take some cars that are relatively meh stock, and turn them into wonderful machines with the right combination of mods. My past attempts have me nervous about doing my own work, and I'm thinking this must add up... still, really good to see these success stories!
Haven't watched the full video yet, but I already love David's Mustang. I always had a feeling the Mustang V6 was a good motor to do a few bolt ons with, but I never met someone or seen a video of a truly modified V6 Mustang. Loving the sound it makes! Very reminiscent to Nissan's/Infiniti's longitudinal V6.
Damn thats a very nice, well sorted mustang. Not to mention that V6 sounded pretty incredible. Really nice car, and they most definitely are under appreciated.
+Nick Nack Longitudinal V6's give off that sound. I'm not saying they are, but I feel like Nissan/Infiniti were first to do longitudinal V6's since everyone is comparing motors to them. It's a very nice, raspy sound.
Matt this is the kind of car that keeps me coming back for more. I love all the cars for the most part, but cars like this are the coolest. A V6 Mustang with HP that would annihilate almost everything made in the mid 70s though to the late 80s. The sound that car made was awesome. A well rounded car. Nicely done, David! :)
+Thomas Griffin I just traded my 13' sixer (profile picture) with borla s-types, headers, intake, everything besides forced induction. Don't waste your time with anything other than a axle back. And only that if you plan on keeping it. I chased the GT's for so long modifying my v6 and just ruined it's reliability. Now I have a 2012 boss 302 with the side pipes open, nothing else, and it's all most would ever need. Just my opinion, but think about it before you start dumping money.
OMG my wife loves this car I love that you guys really open up on these cars thanks for these great uploads I love seeing you guys drive alot of my dream cars thanks God Bless to you all
I love my 3.7, I got it over the 5.0 pretty much because it's a hell of a lot cheaper where I live and insurance is really cheap with me being 19. It's my first performance car 👌 look forward to moding it
I agree, V6s supply lots of power for the average driver. Even enough power to have some fun. How to explain why I didn't get the V8: "I didn't need the V8"
been waiting a while to see if a 3.7 mustang would show up on hear! glad to see you were pleasantly surprised by it! the heavier clutch is probably because the previous owner removed the clutch pedal helper spring (assuming you bought it used). and the dual mass flywheel does cause some funny vibration in the shifter on decal (at least it does for me). and i love how much the mpt tune pops and cracks, my offroad xpipe with the mpt tune sounds so angry
glad to see the V6 getting respect. It's the same story with me, got a v6 2012 mustang as my graduation present because they're more affordable and more controllable than the v8's.
Heli Flight not sure since I've never actually invested in them, but I can say for sure that this style of them look absolutely nasty www.mustangevolution.com/forum/attachments/103579d1366571520-image-3858883755.jpg
I waited a long time to see a video of a V6 Mustang. Sadly you don´t get new Mustang with the V6 in Germany. So the next Car will be the Jaguar F-Type V6 with the manual gearbox. Way more expansive but way more british and far better then my Genesis Coupe V6, qualitywise. By the way excuse my english i´m not used to write it.
I myself would not be caught driving a v6 Mustang but I do respect one that had been done the right way. I am sure this V6 will embarrass a lot cars out there.350z previous generation Mustangs, Evos and STI. 355 horsepower is quite impressive for a 3.7 engine no doubt. It's really close to the 100 horsepower per liter. The best mod for that car is probably the 3.73 gears no doubt, those sure wake up the car.
i have a very similarly modified 2012 as well. sans driveshaft and p&p manifold. those koni yellows are by far the best purchase i have ever made for a car
The V8 is too fast for these roads and you wouldn't get to rev it out. Very cool car and a pleasant surprise. I don't think any one take has exceeded my expectation more. Glad to see all the suspension work too.
I'm remembering the 2011 MT article where they compared the V6 Mustang Challenger and Camaro. The V6 Mustang was the only one to break 13s with a 13.70 @ 102 MPH.
Ain't nothing like the bark of a V6 with a well made exhaust. Sounds a bit similar to my 3L Duratec ST if it had some decent headers fitted. This thing sounds very nice and has a nice amount of go as well
Sup Matt, I drove by when you were getting ready to film this episode. I was in the silver rsti with the red wheels that waved. Awesome work on these "one take" videos I'm subscribed and watch every episode, keep up the good work!
Slick car, good setup and good job working with what you've got. MGW FTW as well! I love the MGW on my T-56'd V6. Koni yellows are the bees knees as well. I had QA1 coilovers before and hated the floaty feeling their shocks had even in firm settings. Great sound, not annoying or raspy which is a nice thing with the 60°V6's where the 90°V6's are a little more harsh.
I think we may have reached a point where one might consider the V6 over the 8 if the weight bias is better in the six. After all you will always want more power, after a while no matter how much you start with, but dollars spent on handling/braking improvements thru aftermarket would go to the better balanced car, and 300+ hp is pretty good. Good videos.
The coloring looks great and so does the sound. I only get throaty noise when I go above 3000 rpm. I have an Airaid CAI myself. Yes, those V6s from 2011 and later are really nice. I have a 2014.
to answer the question that the owner of the car had with the clutch, there is a spring on the standard clutch that makes it have a lighter feel but it is very common that they are removed which gives the clutch a better and heavier feel, his could have had it removed if he bought the car second hand...the same thing happened with my 2012 GT.. just thought you would wanna know lol
Thats what I really appreciate about the V6 mustang is the fact how customizable it is. It already comes stock with a nice amount of power but whats more is you can make it your own. There's plenty of room for aftermarket on it which is exactly why I am getting one.
Matt, I have a 2013 v6 & that vibration u felt, my car does the same thing. Dual mass flywheel for sure. Mine backfires like that too. I did muffler delete
At least this owner is honest in saying that he doesn't have the GT because his parents didn't want him in an expensive car, with lots of power. Most owners would say stupid stuff like "its lighter", "its cheaper to modify", "it has better mpg", etc. Lets be honest people. No Mustang owner doesn't want a GT!!! You don't have it because you cant afford it, period!
I must admit, even tho the words V6 and Mustang don't seem to belong in the same sentence, this one here changed my opinion. I gotta stop assuming that V6 means slow. Its still slower, but as long as you enjoy the ride its cool.
Much respect to the owner of this car. I hate how people act like a v6 mustang is the worst thing in the world. V6 is the best set up to me for daily/power.
Right ! I love my v6 and I have both a v6 and GT
Same here! I have a 2011. boltons and I can keep up with stock 5.0s on the highway
Think about the price of a used 2011-2012 mustang v6 vs the new gt. definitely will check them out.
+PowerofMetal247 And all while getting 31mpg - great daily, usable power, great sound, and still enough fun factor - it's a win-win!
Gursh Effect #2k "pretty gay"? "Just aren't cool"? What sort of credibility were you hoping to gain with statements like these??
+VQSeries I'm not looking for credibility. It's a opinion.
That exhaust note alone makes me have mad respect for this car
I think it's good because you can get closer to the limit on public roads from the lower displacement engine, and that's always fun. Sure the Coyote is a howling beast, but not always necessary for fun factor. Nice car, nice vid!
+dblr3000 right, w ould you rather have 300 or 500 hp when you hit a hard switchback
On a mountain pass, 350hp is just fine for fun and smiles. On track, 500hp of course. Which the N/A Coyote V8 doesn't have.
+teh vee teh vee on winding roads 300 easy lol unless the car I'm driving can truly put the power down
This guy is fresh out of college and his parents helped him get this V6? He looks like he's 35 years old! Or did I hear him wrong?
Travis B he got the car before he went to college is what I though
College isn’t like high school. Some ppl actually leave and come back later in life
Farrah is doing awesome on these reviews with people's cars. Finally, we can see other people's projects instead of hand picked cars that sucks from corporate TV shows haha.
Farah*
+Jose C. Rivera I'd much rather see cars with owner's like this who have done their homework than a press fleet car.
Michael Cohen so you agree? lol
+Jose C. Rivera absolutely. I was agreeing with you! I guess when start with "I'd much rather..." It sounds like I'm disagreeing.
haha, yea
You can tell that Matt was genuinely surprised and impressed by this car. I have to say, the sound surprised me as well.
Nothing at all wrong with modifying a V6, especially 3.7 models. I started out modifying a V6 and this guy basically quoted me word for word on the philosophy at the time. Then I got my 5.0 and later Shelby GT500 models.
I modded the shit out my 07 4.0 mustang all I'ma say is "Bama tune".
Kevin Carrizales what all did you do to it? Was it worth it?
This sounds incredible and is one of the coolest builds on a one take.
This was surprisingly one of my favorite one takes to date! The car was a very solid build and the owner seemed like a knowledgeable and genuinely awesome dude! Keep it up, Sir Farah!
Nice car, v6 is underrated
I was in market for a used 350z and bought a brand new v6 mustang in 2012 because of matts review, he got me off the rice and now I love american cars! :)
I ordered this car for him and the track pack that his dad has. I've sold plenty of Mustangs in the past and he's one of the few people who have used this car for what it's meant for.
2:20 Shat myself there, thought you meant the one takes are over forever until I heard the rest.
Time to clean up my coffee.
one of the best kept secrets.....cyclone v6 mustang!
I am continually awed by how some of your guinea pigs are able to take some cars that are relatively meh stock, and turn them into wonderful machines with the right combination of mods. My past attempts have me nervous about doing my own work, and I'm thinking this must add up... still, really good to see these success stories!
+yitznewton Like he said, forums. there are people who have tried lots of stuff and know so much and they're totally generous with their knowledge.
Check out American Muscle's Red V6 on their website. It ran 11 sec with FI. Pretty cool.
dude had a 10 second v6 mustang. its on youtube, that thing smoked everyone haha
Hope to see a modified EcoBoost Mustang soon.
Damn thats a very nice, well sorted mustang. Not to mention that V6 sounded pretty incredible. Really nice car, and they most definitely are under appreciated.
My mustang is best mustang
+asap gangl My mustang is best mustang because smurf paint.
+asap gangl Because V6 legit!
+MrSelfHater My Mustang is best Mustang because no spoilerrrrrrrrrrrr.
My mustang is best mustang because motorcycle helmet.
+asap gangl my mustang is the best mustang because clown poo smells funny.
sounds a lot like a 350z
+Nick Nack Longitudinal V6's give off that sound. I'm not saying they are, but I feel like Nissan/Infiniti were first to do longitudinal V6's since everyone is comparing motors to them. It's a very nice, raspy sound.
A friend of mine got a 2012 V6 Camaro on Tuesday and it sounds almost identical to this 'Stang
+Nick Nack this sounds good, but i'd prefer the sound of a 350. I think that sounds better, but they are similar at some points
Well of course
Matt this is the kind of car that keeps me coming back for more. I love all the cars for the most part, but cars like this are the coolest. A V6 Mustang with HP that would annihilate almost everything made in the mid 70s though to the late 80s. The sound that car made was awesome. A well rounded car. Nicely done, David! :)
This was one of my favorite one takes so far! Keep it up TST and crew!
"It's a big, fatty knob. I really like it"
"I'm a fan."
I rented a 2014 V6 in San Diego and I was actually surprised how good it was. It felt faster than my 996 C4S that lives at a mile above sea level.
Wait, didn't I drive this road in GTA5?
I almost skipped this video, I'm so glad I didn't. The car is very well balanced and the sound is perfect. Take care!
Now I'm tempted to get my 14 V6 a nice Borla S-type exhaust; along with intake tuning once my warranty is up.
Check out my 2 videos I have Borla on my v6 see what ya think
OMG my wife loves this car I love that you guys really open up on these cars thanks for these great uploads I love seeing you guys drive alot of my dream cars thanks God Bless to you all
that polish ported intake manifold makes her sound crazy best MOD I ever did
I love my 3.7, I got it over the 5.0 pretty much because it's a hell of a lot cheaper where I live and insurance is really cheap with me being 19. It's my first performance car 👌 look forward to moding it
Way to go David! That looks like nicely dialed in car. I dig the exhaust note.
Looks and sounds great.. the only bad thing is.. you spend your whole life trying to explain why you didn't buy the 5.0..
I agree, V6s supply lots of power for the average driver. Even enough power to have some fun. How to explain why I didn't get the V8: "I didn't need the V8"
ShitFromShinola a g37 makes the more power, multi link front and rear suspension & revs higher. They cost about the same used
@@michaelgomez4994 um, I wish they cost the s same lol. In my state at least, the 13-14 5.0s still cost $18k or more and the 3.7 is $9-12k.
Cas in ca a 2011 5.0 with 90k is 18k.... a 14 with 60k your looking at 24-25ish
Cas g37 go for 16k all day long.
i love that about borla, the sounds in the exhaust vary in depth and sound as you get higher in rpms depending on how you're gassing it
been waiting a while to see if a 3.7 mustang would show up on hear! glad to see you were pleasantly surprised by it! the heavier clutch is probably because the previous owner removed the clutch pedal helper spring (assuming you bought it used). and the dual mass flywheel does cause some funny vibration in the shifter on decal (at least it does for me). and i love how much the mpt tune pops and cracks, my offroad xpipe with the mpt tune sounds so angry
lol. What was that little hand shake Matt did at 4:22? Was he saying that forum is so so?
+JKFlorida haha nice catch. Yeah that's probably what he meant
FLORIIIIDDDDAAA!
+JKFlorida Florida FTW
+JKFlorida illuminati confirmed
I'm thinking a beard itch, he agreed with his mods to the car
glad to see the V6 getting respect. It's the same story with me, got a v6 2012 mustang as my graduation present because they're more affordable and more controllable than the v8's.
I'm 100% v8 over v6's for Mustangs, but I will respect a stick shift 6 over an auto 8. The only thing I would do though is ad some louvers though
I'm glad those people get "your respect" for whatever that's worth. Please show us the light on what's good in life!
ferretkiller9454 It's a figure of speech. People can do whatever they want, but that's how I view it
+Jared Moore What lovers would you recommend. I've been looking for a good one for awhile. MRT metal louvers currently have my attention.
Heli Flight not sure since I've never actually invested in them, but I can say for sure that this style of them look absolutely nasty

Automatics are proven to be more efficient and consistent in racing. Albeit, they remove a certain level of interaction with your car.
I waited a long time to see a video of a V6 Mustang. Sadly you don´t get new Mustang with the V6 in Germany. So the next Car will be the Jaguar F-Type V6 with the manual gearbox. really nice sound
I love the Cyclone Mustang its one of the best mustangs ford has put out! This was a great review!
I am purchasing a 3.7 tomorrow. I really like what David has done here. Where can I get a list of mods he has done?
i have a very similarly modified 2012 as well. sans driveshaft and p&p manifold. those koni yellows are by far the best purchase i have ever made for a car
I like the v6 exhaust note
The V8 is too fast for these roads and you wouldn't get to rev it out. Very cool car and a pleasant surprise. I don't think any one take has exceeded my expectation more. Glad to see all the suspension work too.
Nice car! :) Pls more Mustangs!
Respect, great car for a respectable price! Anyone can make a car amazing with a few 100k, it's damn impressive to do it at cost.
i had to rewind for the nice exhaust crackles. soooo good
Having that one headrest folded down bothered my OCD a little lol.
This thing sounds very nice and has a nice amount of go as well
wow i didn' t expect i would like this car, but i really did! Well done! sounds a little like a Golf IV R32 :)
Wow, I actually like this 2012 v6 mustang, I was not expecting that at the start of the video.
i like the v6. perfect start for a track car, first car, or budget build.
Hey Matt, I was just wondering if you have a Cobalt SS turbo lined up any time soon, if so when could I expect it to be uploaded, thanks!
god it sounds incredible!
Normaly I don't like bright collors on cars. But this collor on a Mustang look ace!
nice representation of the 3.7
Awesome car dude you have inspired me to get a V6 and that dope set up along with it! 🤟
Sup Matt, I drove by when you were getting ready to film this episode. I was in the silver rsti with the red wheels that waved. Awesome work on these "one take" videos I'm subscribed and watch every episode, keep up the good work!
My V6 Camaro sounds similar. Great sounding engines, V6s are underrated.
Very nice build. Congratulations.
Man I'm so jealous. He can insure a mustang with 300 hp as a first car. I couldn't even insure a car with 100 hp where I'm from.
This things sounds fucking awesome, hell my GT is clapping for this!
Good videos.
love the new camera youare using.next 24hr of lemons The Smoking Tyre VS Roadkill that would be epic
Matt, what else can I do to support you and your videos? Other than watching/liking them?!
Very clean car. Future motor swap possibilities too.
But that "fatty knob" exchange around 9:47 was awkward. Haha!
Well done David, nice car.
that sounds really good, and that color is smexy
Sounds awesome David!! love the color too
The coloring looks great and so does the sound. I only get throaty noise when I go above 3000 rpm. I have an Airaid CAI myself. Yes, those V6s from 2011 and later are really nice. I have a 2014.
That backfire is amazing...
to answer the question that the owner of the car had with the clutch, there is a spring on the standard clutch that makes it have a lighter feel but it is very common that they are removed which gives the clutch a better and heavier feel, his could have had it removed if he bought the car second hand...the same thing happened with my 2012 GT.. just thought you would wanna know lol
Man .. I got pretty much the same car.. same upgrades and mods. I got this car V6 performance pack, and mods. Super fun to drive.
I'm glad to see that the new V6 is actually pretty good (nice sound too) because the old V6 sucked so much. Also its a very good looking car.
Incredibly clean car.
Sounded pretty sweet. I hate mustangs in general though so you won't catch me in one.
First thing I thought was Nissan V6 sound like a 370Z then you went and said it ha! Fab.
Awesome reviews! Especially this one, since I have a 2005 V6. Though I Wish mine came stock with 300+ rwhp.
This is sick tbh.
outstanding car. I had a v8, it was great, but really too much car for the street. this may be the ideal daily driver. love the sound
The Borla attacks are by far the best exhaust to put on the 3.7L
It's nice to see a v6 mustang done right.
"IT'S A BIG FATTY KNOB, I REALLY LIKE IT" - Matt F.
Thats what I really appreciate about the V6 mustang is the fact how customizable it is. It already comes stock with a nice amount of power but whats more is you can make it your own. There's plenty of room for aftermarket on it which is exactly why I am getting one.
this mustang sounds soo nice, buts just weird not hearing a v8, but it sounds so nice tho
Hey Matt are you going to do an update video on the foxbody soon?
loving the one takes matt!
Matt, I have a 2013 v6 & that vibration u felt, my car does the same thing. Dual mass flywheel for sure. Mine backfires like that too. I did muffler delete
Damn that car does not sound bad at all😂 N/A FTW 💪🏼
They sound more than a little bit like a Nissan VQ. They sound almost identical.
Love the sound I want one but just bought the wife a Subaru 18 Outback 😢
At least this owner is honest in saying that he doesn't have the GT because his parents didn't want him in an expensive car, with lots of power. Most owners would say stupid stuff like "its lighter", "its cheaper to modify", "it has better mpg", etc. Lets be honest people. No Mustang owner doesn't want a GT!!! I must admit, even tho the words V6 and Mustang don't seem to belong in the same sentence, this one here changed my opinion. I gotta stop assuming that V6 means slow. Its still slower, but as long as you enjoy the ride its cool.
sounded a lot better that i thort it was gona!
"370ish" sounding is exactly what I was thinking before he said it haha.
Sick car I personally am planning to make mine like this
