Based upon the dramatic real-life manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombers, this powerful action-thriller follows Police Sergeant Tommy Sanders (Mark Wahlberg) as he joins brave survivors, first responders, and investigators in a race against time to find the bombers before they strike again.
For anyone curious a GoFundMe was set up and Dave was able to get a new boat.
Did he not have insurance?! 😅
Was just going to ask that.
@@flanagamer don't think insurance would cover gunfire and explosives, but doesn't the government have a scheme if your property is damaged due to the line of duty
@@DkspardanI’ve heard of cases where vehicles where damaged due to officers mounting there weapons on it and because it was done by law enforcement the government nor did law enforcement have to pay for it. The shot of the ARs poking through the fence *really* gives a sense of just how much anger was about to be unleashed if the guy in the boat didn't cooperate.
Absolutley agree. Thought it was a powerful scene. Also, if you saw the movie, the scene with the state trooper standing over the boy in the street was absolutely heartbreaking. This movie was done exceptionally well.
@@nailgunsniper I like to think that they were hoping he wouldn't go quietly.
i dont know why, but i also had the saying "Behind every blade of grass is a rifle" pop into my mind when that scene came up.

It might be a reference to the film Kagemusha. There's a similar scene with muskets.

Yup , because people from The 'Ham will hurt you without blinking an eye if you hurt their people. I grew up next door to Framingham and had many friends that lived there.

I mean, i get it, but no a great idea to have armed people pointing guns at the boat when they literally aren't on the same frequency as the FBI team who's actually going to move into that person's line of fire.

I learned today that Officer DJ Simmonds, the officer that was wounded in the firefight in Watertown when the terrorists were caught, sustained a brain injury from one of the bombs thrown at the police that night. He died a year later from a brain aneurysm as a result of a bomb that detonated near him that night. Please remember Officer Simmonds and his family. He is survived by his mother and father, and younger sister. They're a beautiful, Christian family of African American descent and all discover our gratitude for bringing a wonderful hero like DJ into this world.
My deepest condolences to Officer DJ Simmonds' family 😭💔
I remember being in my physical science class freshman year when our teacher turned on the news to show us what was happening, I had to step out to call my mom because cousins of mine were in attendance that day, luckily they were unharmed. One of the most surreal moments.
I was in middle school, just finished a track meet when our coach told us that there had been explosions at the finish line of the marathon. My dad ran Boston in 2011. Crazy couple of days after the bombing.

Biggest legend of that whole thing: Papi. I’m not from Boston but hearing David say “This is our fucking city” made me wanna be.
Big Papi isn't from this area either. But he adopted us as his own, and we adopted him. So when he spoke, he spoke for us. This might have been the only instance where a guy said FUCK on national TV, and it wasn't deleted or beeped out. It was applauded. This is where the phrase Boston Strong comes from.
Ew
It’s sad it takes events like this and 9/11 to bring our country together, and to value and appreciate what we have has a Nation.
It's a measure of how hard people in power want to keep us angry and separated.
the sad thing about that is, that in it's self isn't even true. 9/11 DID NOT bring the country together but create more prejudice.
And how social media normalizes and even promotes this hate that they profit off of
Post 9/11 is the start of America getting worse. Department of Homeland Security, TSA, the patriot act. All it took was scaring the public of more attacks and we all surrendered our freedoms
Pretty sure it just made people more racially motivated and angry, shows you how uneducated we are
“He’s moving!!!” How tf do you see that through the tarp?
They were absolutely livid that he survived all the shots they put in that boat.
They heard him moving, that's why they said that.
They also had infrared cameras that could see right through the tarp, reading his heat signature. They were watching every move he made when he was under there.
@@RAdaltonracer thermals can't see through solid object like tarps, if you pay close attention they can't actually see him until the 40mm blows the tarp off the top.
@@RAdaltonracer ok… in the movie it’s Mark making that call which is what I was saying was stupid…
In real life Ik they had infrared and pumped a ton of shots in trying to make sure they killed him. And they were really pissed they had to go through a trial (which they have completely sealed)

The scene at 5:52 - 6:09 where the FBI agent randomly switches his uniform to Boston PD wasn't an editing mistake, it was an intentional one. The symbolic message was that the FBI and Boston PD worked together to capture the suspect.
In reality, based on real photos like the one taken at 5:37, it shows BPD SWAT moving in to take the suspect in custody, not the FBI.
Some say that BPD SWAT took the suspect in custody while the FBI helped coordinate the execution plan.
So that's why.
No is not Boston swat. Is mpta swats teams
HRT was in charge that night and did the take down.
Makes sense if you got a guy hiding in a boat to call the Yankee Clipper to get him.
Hey, he cost them 20 grand on that game

I have seen that boat in person. It is a display in the none public FBI museum in WDC. It definitely won't float. A definite recommended tour. You need to be invited by an agent or congressman or senator. And clear a background check.
They don’t really have this in a secret trophy case do they?? Is Malcom ‘s pulpit/ lectern in there too?
How big is it? Is it legit a full tour to see everything in this museum?
How the hell did you manage to get in there?
How the hell do congressman get in? Not a damn one can pass a background check.

This movie always takes me back to that day. I was eight years old, and I remember waking up early with my dad and brother to drive into the city to watch my dad’s coworker finish the marathon. I remember arriving to the finish line about 30 minutes before the bombs went off, just in time to see him cross. Afterward, we walked through the city and I vividly remember feeling the mood shift to one of panic. At the time, I didn't fully understand what had happened. Reflecting on it now, it frightens me to think that if my dad’s friend had finished 30 minutes later, we could have been caught in the chaos.
I have still never scene a city go on lockdown so fast, and a city determined to find the fucker.
It’s Boston pal you don’t mess with Boston.

I remember exactly where I was when all this was happening. I was a senior in high school and my school was doing the end of the year grad bash, where they drove all of us up to Universal Studios for a night of fun and games. The news reports about the hunt in Watertown were playing as we left our classroom to get on the bus. Looking back, I t’s kind of crazy they still moved forward with the trip while all this was still going on.
A little cinematic error - he is initially grabbed by a FBI HRT member, multicam uniform. But then it switches to a member of Boston PD, black uniform, as he is in the air being thrown to the ground. Then as he hits the ground, it’s the FBI HRT member again.
I’ve watched this movie a few times and every time I seethis mistake I figure it had to be on purpose as a symbol of the unity of Boston and the local departments taking him down, but in reality it’s probably just a lazy mistake haha.
@@Fordmondeo23Correct. It was done on purpose as a way to honor the efforts of all law enforcement during this manhunt
It was a deliberate choice by the director to switch the uniforms.
I don’t see how that could not be intentional.
Your acronyms mean nothing.
Tsarnev's actor was perfectly cast. You see Wahlberg and Kevin Bacon and say "that's Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Bacon" but that guy looks so much like Tsarnev you wonder if it really is him
I forgot it wasn’t at first, the resemblance is super uncanny
Really cool seeing the Wolff brothers doing well for themselves. I recognized Alex immediately. It’s cool him, and his brother have been doing such great stuff.
They made a movie of this??! Had no idea... only reason i would watch is because of the "FUK FUK .. FUK FUK ..FUK" Boston dialogues LOL
Movie is so good. Especially the end where David Ortiz pops up and you get that little snippet of his “This is Our Fucking City” speech.
I swear Mark Wallberg is bi polar he’s either in really good movies ( this one) or horrible movies
It’s well done best look into an fbi analysis of a crime scene authentic as possible
If there was a drinking game every time they said F\/CK id be dead from alcohol poisoning 🤣
Homeowner is probably still haggling with government for payment of his boat.
A GoFundMe was set up and he got a new one.
As a red sox fan that 2013 title was just meant to be dawg
Fun fact. The guy who plays the FBI team leader is Chris Whitcomb. An actual FBI HRT agent. He was involved in the Ruby Ridge siege and the Waco Siege. He’s a legendary FBI sniper who almost shot and killed David Koresh.
Holy crap he's seen more action than many soldiers
Your acronyms mean nothing.
I flew into Boston, where I'm from, when this was popping off. I was in Cambridge when they found him in the boat. Boston locked that city down.
I was there that day. My wife ran in the race. First time either of us had been to Boston.
Hope y’all are ok and sorry that was y’all first experience there
That poor boat.
My understanding is that the boat owner eventually was gifted a new, better boat. I had always thought that the City of Watertown funded that, but I later found out that someone started a Go-Fund-Me account and got enough money for the owner so he got a nice new boat. That's about as well deserved as it gets, and he gets to tell stories and have bragging rights for the rest of his life. I bet when he walks into his local watering hole, a lot of guys are buying drinks for him.
Forgot Sean Avery was in this lmao
That dude had no chance to get out alive if he didn't surrender
you did it, Reddit!
That lady on the roof is a badass.
I wonder who the lady cop is in real life. The actress was great at playing her or if that was the real cop herself.
So she cusses? That's makes her a "badass"? I turn this POS off after her scene, it was so over the top it ruined the movie
@@kendallevans4079 It was more of her not wanting to leave the scene and stood her ground
When Papi did the F comment- within minutes the FCC said there will be NO fine😎
"You mess with the patriot, you get the AR's"
I was on the Massachusetts turnpike that night when it was announced on the radio they found the bomber
When this happened IRL, my mother made me watch nine hours of coverage of the initial bombing while she drank herself to sleep. My dad was working all day and didn’t understand why I was so pissed. For me I got screwed when Rolling Stone put the surviving brother on the cover, I had to get an extreme haircut and shave because somebody at my school said I looked like that kid and I didn’t want the FBI to come to my house.
5:52 anyone else notice the arresting officer changed mid flip? Lol
Read in one of the replies that it symbolized the unity by the Law Enforcement Agencies that took part in the manhunt, (in this case it switched from a Multicammed FBI Agent to a BPD SWAT Officer.)
Take that as a grain of salt though. Never can trust the internet these days.
Lol is that sean avery ?

“Jumanji!”
Probably Mark Wahlbergs best performance
I thought this was supposed to be a movie praising the Boston police. Not a movie making them look like lunatics. "Something's moving in the boat!" *50 guns unload into the boat*
great movie
The fact that POS is still alive infuriates me to this day
Do you believe everything that they tell you on the news. News people are required to lie to you.
Of course Sean Avery out of all people turns on his sirens
Because Peter Berg is a really good action director, this movie was so much better than it should have been.
Was at a b & b on Mt. Surprise watching this development.
3:28 the actor in the blue uniform is Charles Luise. He played Stephen Heymann in my 2017 Aaron Swartz biopic film “Patriot of the Web”
The Reddit army made a major win that day!
That boat not gonna float XD
So what im able to understand is...If that man didnt ignore his wife the bomber wouldnt have been caught
More than likely the actual guy saw something wrong in the backyard and went to check it himself. Writers of the movie created the small scene of wife and husband arguing so that they can both appear in the movie.
“Well I’m FrOM Framingham Massachusetts” like stfu
6:23 from as far as a can tell, every single one of those microphones are from fictional tv and radio stations, except for WBZ (i guess that would make sense, since CBS made the movie). Just thought thats was kinda funny.
can we quickly talk about the mistake here in the film, guy walks up to him with woodland camo gear on but then suddenly he's in all black when he flips the guy XD
Yeah seriously
Intentional choice by the director.
It was intentional, it was supposed to show the connection between the BPD and the FBI and how they worked together to capture that monster.
This has me sobbing uncontrollably

How did they know it was the suspect that was in the boat? They never got a positive ID
Who else would be hiding there?

I remember hearing they found him in some dudes boat after he was concerned
An excellent movie based on a horrible event.
Is that what happened in real life? The cop who got hurt is the one at the boat?
No. The cop getting hurt happened during the shootout between the two brothers. The police attempted to open fire on the brother who fled by car by shooting it at on both sides.
Guess what. Bullets don't magically vanish if you miss. One of the rounds hit the cop on the other side.
Another cop at the scene was hurt by the IEDs they used and died of brain issues later that year.
Mark Wahlberg was perfect for this film
I think this movie had more bombs than the event...F-bombs😂
ah yes.. "Fuck".. the Official Word of Boston. :P
Anyone else notice a FED in camo grabbed him but a Boston PD SWAT slammed him into the ground?
I remember the day they announced it had happened we were all sent home from school, the day THIS happened we were evacuated and rushed home even faster why? Because he was hiding in a boat 1 town over from where we were in school.
Shocking acting
Why was he tactically going up the stairs when they knew the guy was in the boat

Wow 😮
I wonder what the terrorist thought when they saw Marky Mark and Kevin Bacon?
I remember watching the news coverage of this while looking at my twitter feed as it was going down & I was wondering why it was taking so long to apprehend him while he was cornered. Wasn’t until I watched this that I realized he had a bomb on him
Holy crossfire
What’s concerning is I don’t think this movie would/could be made today because people would say it amplifies Islamophobia so the studio would pass. Which is kinda funny because I think what probably amplifies that more is people bombing a bunch of innocent civilians at a marathon
They literally made a movie last year about 9/11. Get off the "Oh this couldn't be made today" copium.
OMG WOW
1:27 they got night Shift exhaustion right…….
Here's a question: "How did the second bomber get blood all over him when he got in the boat 🚢 and stayed in there?
He was already shot at before he was in the boat, and when he eventually got in it the police shot at it. He’s bleeding because he was shot
Yankee Clipper, at a Boston game... suspicious...
