I absolutely love this one. It is missing a resin bee to sit on top of the light in the centre which would diffuse the light a little bit more if it was going to 🐝 a night light. I can’t wait to try this out. I think my Mum would love this as a thank you gift for all her help with my wedding in a few months time 😊
That's adorable!!! Pink and blue or green and yellow for a child's room!!! Maybe even with a battery tea light.... Bubble wrap is so flexible when you use it in resin. I'll be making these lamps for the grandchildren!!
I love this idea. I love how you give us seeds of knowledge for us to grow into our own creations. I have many ideas of how I would do this my way! Thank you !!
I don't know where you get all your creative ideas, but I am always amazed & thoroughly entertained! I am absolutely going to try this one. Thanks again Steve.
I like this idea, especially after demonstrating how to make the resin flexible again after curing. I wish there were molds more available to create lampshades for traditional lamps, like the paneled kind.
This is a great idea, being able to change the colours of the cover of the lamp. You have patience of a saint to do all that process before touching it too early lol
While most resins tend to yellow over time, your color selection is perfect. The blue might turn green and the yellow will stay yellow. I think I'll try a reverse with different colors...holographic glitter on the outside and black in the cells. Thanks for your inspirations!
It's a neat lamp, very pretty and yes -- sparkly as well! :) It seems a bit labor-intensive, but really, the individual steps don't take that much time or effort. It's the resin setting times that take a while, that's all. I think this is well worth it! I love the result! :)
Wow, I love this! I wanna make one for myself, I just got one of those tray molds. I kept some bubble wrap for just such occasion! Thanks as always, Steve! Brilliant idea!
I love watching the places you go, with your resin art! I’m too scared to try a project like this, but it was sure fun to watch, and I did learn things from watching it! Thank you for being so daring and then sharing your ideas with us!
Smoky quartz is a translucent brown to black, depending. I used to work at the kind of jewelry shop where you'd be more likely to find Tourmaline than diamond. They're (smoky quartz) lovely, and that is a stone whose beauty I personally don't think would be affected much by color vision.
Dave, can you tell me how is the volume of this mould? I have no idea how much resin to prepare. I have an order in my basket and I'm not sure how much is enough. I would measure rice, but I don't have it yet. I can't wait! You are doing a great job, you are my master, i love watching you
Hi Steve. Love this so much that I ordered the lamp stand, however (very stupid question) can you show what the bulb or light looks like that goes into it cheers Larraine
So I’ve made two but am having issues with the tube shade opening or looking more like a tear drop. 😔 I’ve taped it and left it for five days. Then softened it with a heat gun, retaped it again. Any suggestions to getting it to stay nicely formed like yours? TIA!
No radiators to warm for bending. What do you suggest for softening cured resin. Really enjoy your creations. I found your channel a few weeks ago and became a subscriber right away!
I recently bought a lamp mold and there are no instructions! It is a mosaic lamp that can be used all resin or resin plaster? If you have put it together please demonstrate
I have a question. I have a beautiful glass bird I got as a little girl and one day a jar fell on it and almost broke it. I can see the line inside it that almost went through the head. So my question is can i put the glass bird in resin so it would protect it more as I don't want it to break. It's hollow inside so will it crack
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts I don't know I've never been brave enough to try using it but I know you try loads of odd things in your experiments. I'm fairly new to using resin 😊
i cant use them for toffy i use a syringe that are washable and reusable with the adding advantage of knowing exactly how much each molds hold i have a note pad to keep record for example the alphabet mould mat each letter is 10ml apart from the letter I and a few others do i know if im using that and need the whole mate i need 250ml dew to the moulds that dont take the full 10 ml which is really handy when you need to know how much you need or what you have enough resin for
Thank you for suggesting the Resiners resin curing machine. It's simply brilliant.
I was holding my breath as you were folding it around the base thinking it must surely snap! It is beautiful. Thank you
I see I wasn't the only one
Oh my gosh, this is so cool! I'm going to do it with clear resin and clear on the bubble wrap with rainbow fill-in! Thanks so much for this idea!
Wow that came out nice. This is one of my favorite things that you've done with resin.

Me to. I'm trying to reuse everything
Creative idea using bubble wraps.thanks steve

It's so funny that I came across this video! I just saw some bubble wrap in my room and thought I might be able to make a bowl with it!
I have watched all your videos. I love your work and experiments. You are good at what you do. Keep going and doing. Thank you

Great idea Steve!! Greetings from Canada
So I am now hoarding bubblewrap for more than resin jewelry, ala Steve. Such unique, fun and creative end-results. Thank you.
I have gotten so much information and ideas from your videos. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I am resin beginner and I watched a lot of video's and did a lot of research to date i have not seen a lamp very clever.
this is a fantastic project... what a great nightlight for a kid's room!!!
Brilliant !

The honeycomb detail is beautiful and incredibly effective when the lamp is lit!

Fabulous idea! Also some fantastic tips. Thanks Steve!

Your sleeves got in the resin I'm sure of it! 😂 but GORGEOUS piece!!
I think it did to!!! Lol
I know! Not very clever...
As always... Fantastic
Not keen on the grey colour round the edge but other than that it's a year idea. Hugs x Ann x
Very pretty
I'm imagining so many color combinations for that 😍
I'm definitely going to try this. So awesome!
Me to!! I think it’s beautiful!
Love this idea..Ill bear it in mind when I resin again in the Spring 😐

That is so freaking cool! I just got into doing small resin things and it amazes me all the things you can do with it!
Bellissima idea

Wow
Hi 🙋♀️ newbie here
Super! I've got the same base and was looking for some inspiration! You'll have to do a video on dremel someday... All those attachments!!
Genius
Your sleeves definitely ended up with resin on them

Would the resin heat up with the light being on for extended period
Where do you get the mold release spray you spoke of?

Hi Steve your videos are brilliant, can I ask have tried crayons in resin? Plus have you ever tried using kids plasticine for a temporary mould?
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts I don't know I've never been brave enough to try using it but I know you try loads of odd things in your experiments. I'm fairly new to using resin 😊
I'm surprised you haven't made a set of silicone molds for the bubblewrap.
👍😀

how...or can you clean the brushes used w/resin?
Hey lol just me bugging ya again lol what spray did you use? I bought the brushes just now.. You btw are awesome!!!
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts woohooo thanks :) I've also bee's wax would that help
wouldn't the heat of the lamp make the resin bendable?
I'm just so surprised that you were still able to mold the resin after leaving it to sit for that long.
I would have used rubber bands to hold it
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💯😁❤
👏👏👏👏✨✨✨✨💖
Dude... your shirt sleeve was dragging all thru the wet resin! Gah!
you talk way to much.
