- At the making of this video, Tommie Frazier hadn't been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame despite being one of the best to ever play the college game. He has since been inducted. A 1995 Heisman Trophy runner up, Frazier lead the Nebraska Cornhuskers to back-to-back national titles (1994, 1995), a feat that hadn't been accomplished by a starting quarterback until A.J. McCarron did so at Alabama (2012, 2013) . Frazier was 33-3 as a starting quarterback for the Huskers.
Tommy Frazier........ Big Red's G.O.A.T.
And I think coach frost is starting to go back to traditional nebraska football and will be successful with that system!!! GBR!!!
This is a great compilation of Tommie Frazier's exciting plays. Is his inside run keeper (Gary Danielson saying "A skip here, a skip there, and he's into the secondary") where he meets CU safety Deon Figures --- is it in the video? Was a terrific option keeper that could have gone for all kinds of yards had Deon not been ready.
Lastly, if you could add Frazier's 58 yard scramble (where he has to avoid the rush inside the pocket) to this video, then that would be fantastic. This occurred in the first half of the 1993 season matchup with K-State. And Tommie's 60 yard TD bomb to Corey Dixon from the '93 season game with Colorado would be great to add too.
95' Nebraska: greatest of all time.
And I'm an OU fan.
amen theres a mutual respect between husker and sooner fans in my opinion
Dillon Ruby Yea you Husker took care of business in 95 with Tommy. Much respect to that squad and an All Time Great QB. But I think the only team suited to stop them may have been my beloved Trojan squad with the Greatest LB corp in the history of college football. We had Keith Rivers, Brian Cushing, Ray Malaluga, and Clay Matthews. plus the run stop safety Taylor Mays! What a battle that would have been!
yeah they just wore everyone out by runing right at them and pounding them ,in the 4th quarter they always had their hands on their knees gaspin for air but definitely woulda been a great matchup back then you could actually hit in football
looking forward to the next OU vs NU!
And we all know OKLAHOMA has had some great teams. Thanks for the thumbs up and all the GREAT GAMES. “ITS OKLAHOMA VS NEBRASKA. THAT SAYS IT ALL!”
Dude is a legend. Amazing
Tommie is the ultimate winner. There shouldn't even be an argument about it. Just a battle to be second place
Tommy Frasier, not winning the Heisman was the biggest piece of Bull Shit in the history of college football!
This is one bad ass video!
If they just could have punched the ball into the end zone once or twice against the Seminoles in that 1994 Orange Bowl slugfest......what might have been. No discredit to the Seminoles as they were outstanding in those days and deserved to win, but to think of what might have been. Frazier was amazing and so fun to watch.
Tommie Frazier was truly a ‘magical’ player.... I can make the argument that Tommie was the BEST player on the BEST team in history. You can easily make the arguement that Tommie was a better player than MOST heisman trophy winners.... which Tommie was Robbed of (HEISMAN). So many GREAT husker players, but i would have TOMMIE FRAZER #1 Offensive player at NU of all time......
He ran the most unstoppable option game I've ever seen!
Also, I am glad I was alive and old enough to fully understand football during this era. Huskers were fun to watch every single year.
Best ever, no question.
#15 NCAA GOAT
Tommie gave us everything. Kept defenses honest, pitchouts, keepers, cuts, speed, strength, missed tackles, field vision, passing game, confidence, yards after contact, TD's, gave up his body for three National Championship games and most of all he gave us back to back National Championships.
Loved the video, great tribute to the greatest ever!
I loved Tommy from the first game he played
Frazier is a College Football Hall of Famer in my book.
The greatest option quarterback of all time! No one ever seems to remember that he started in three Natl title games - great point! Nebraska and Frazier would have won 3 in a row if not for the phantom interference call at the end of the 1993 championship game. It's no mistake that Bowden had so many missed field goals in the years that followed - it was KARMA!
Town Curmudgeon
I watched college football during this time and it completely…was missed…by me.
@@MooreVoicesMedia if you can find the complete 94 NC game Nebraska had a punt return for a touchdown on a holding call no camera could see and FSU fumbled on the one into the end zone that Nebraska recovered which the refs called a touchdown. That’s a 14pt swing in a game the Huskers lost by two. Not to mention the refs called roughing the QB anytime Nebraska touched Charlie Ward. It was obvious to anyone with eyes who they wanted to win. GBR!!!
@@mrh3085 thanks for this update.
I am going to locate this frame and check it out.
I know I watched it live and believe I had a lot of angst watching it.
It’s possible it affected my memory of some of those events.
@@MooreVoicesMedia it’s all good. Nebraska still had a chance at the end but missed their long field goal try. If memory serves me right Bobby Bowden said something along the lines of, “we might not of been the best team tonight but we won.” Tommy Frazier was the best QB on the field that night IMO. GBR!!!
Not to mention he won the MVP award in all three national championship games. The first one against heisman winner Charlie ward, the second one he was benched at the end of first quarter, then came back in midway 4th quarter and led the comeback victory and as was fitting he completed a two point conversion in the same end zone in which nu failed 10 years earlier. And we all remember the fun and gun fla gators with Danny w ,Kudos to the person who put this together.
Tommie is the top five of all time
This is back in the day when quarterbacks didn't get all the protection through all the rules they have nowadays, but of course as you can see Tommy didn't need that.
The yac-iest QB ever.
I always found it funny that neb went to 3 straight title games and all 3 were against florida teams.
Fsu. Miami. Uf.
Okay with this video, but why no sound?
Had it not been for a fantom clip that no cameras in the stadium were able to show and FSU’s fumble which Nebraska recovered in the end zone for a touchback but was ruled a touchdown Tommie would’ve won three NC’s in a row. It’s a shame that bad officiating robbed Nebraska of that accomplishment. Still the greatest option QB of all time and the greatest team of all time. 93, 94, 95, 97
Don't forget the ENTIRE CAREER that "BAD CALL BLACKLEDGE" BUILT off of that extra 6x6 chunk of field from the 1982 STATE PENN. Game...
Been a fan of Nebraska since I watched them on tv in the late 70's and they had a running back with a very cool name.....I. M. Hipp
he had an amazing hairdo too.... look it up ... :)
Gotta love Tommie Frazier! I grew up watching him...and of course the whole team...hoping to see them rise up again. One off comment though...if it's easy to switch out pieces (without losing the whole video)...switch out for a different pic of Martinez...he's fumbling in the pic that was chosen.
You forgot Brook Berringer
Amazing man... as is Sam Foltz. Great men that represent this program
He would’ve played on Sunday and been successful. 🙏🏼
Best college qb ever. 3 title game MVP's. led the best team ever. Eddie George should be a man and hand over his heisman. Nobody thinks it belongs to him.
I remember to this day eddie george getting the trophy and I called foul as a 7 yearold. ofc I'm biased....but srsly
Should have been a 3 peat and we've done back to back twice what other school has done that none that's who GBR!!!!
Great work....thanks!
They should have did this video in Braille
At the beginning on this video naming the great qb's I was like this dude is crazy! Where is Frasier? Then I noticed the title...lol... Great video...
He also had to win the starting position before his senior season.
😮
Where's the volume at?
Strongest legs of any QB I've ever seen
The Fiesta Bowl was in Jan 1996, following the 1995 season.
my bad SRRY!!
Why no sound? It's queer to watch and hear quiet. 4-30-2023
Born in Omaha..
Husker at birth..
Love the silent movie-video
but just wish that there were no highlights of Florida State whatsoever
wtf in 95 they played florida and beat them 64-14! not 96
best team of all time
Carter Bailey, the 1996 Fiesta Bowl game against Florida was the game that determined the national champion for the 1995 season.
I saw that. Why do you think it took him so long to get in?
01 miami is the greatest.
95 neb is 2nd
1995 Nebraska 64, 2001 Miami 24
Everyone is entitled to their opinion 😏. Personally that’s the only NC I give Miami credit for because the rest were won in their home stadium.
Nebraska would have 10 more NC’s if they played for NC’s in Memorial Stadium. For 30+ years Nebraska rarely lost at home. GBR!
