These episodes of Traveling Robert (it's the 4th or 5th I am watching since yesterday) don't deserve a single dislike. I don't even understand how some people can dislike. Not saying I am going to watch all episodes, as I am more interested about the Scandinavian zone. However, from what I saw, everything was well narrated and professionally done. Also, everything was clean and organized. Even when he prepares food, I don't see a bit of dirtiness. Keep up your good work.

Amazing video. Gorgeous long waterfalls .... lovely villages ..... beautful grazing sheep .... fabulous seascapes and mountain views. Your drone shots and time lapse were magnificent. I was a bit surprisd at the cost of meals on the road. Seems important to stock up on groceries and eat in rhe RV. Can't wait for the next video!

Hi Robert, what an amazing video. I have got hooked on to your videos......vicariously experiencing the RV travel experiences. Someday I aspire to embark on such an RV trip to the Arctic myself! I guess a lot of prior research such as hiring RV, where to park, local laws, which apps to download to get such information, how and where to manage water, electricity and more critically sewer all along the trip will be needed. But your videos are motivation enough to do all the planning and embark on such an adventure.

What amazes me is how all the houses and buildings are RIGHT next to the roads! I wonder if they get hit a lot. And those narrow roads! I guess there aren't many flat places. And no guard rails! White knuckling it! Stunningly beautiful.

When you have houses (or other kinds of obstacles) close to the road people tend to drive more carefully. So in some cases it reduces amount of accidents. See Cheddar's video on the topic:

Thank you! I was sooooo waiting for this episode. It's a pity that you had so much typical Norwegian weather there but luckily you had some sunshine and blue sky too. This video made me a very strong desire for travelling to Lofoten again! I don't know what's going to happen in next episode but if you didn't visit Norwegian Aviation Museum in Bodø, do that next time. It is a very interesting place even if you're not in "museum mood". That museum definitely changes it :)

Those sheep are amazing and I’ll bet there are some amazing woolens available in local shops. Bummer that you’re limited to two weeks. Maybe there’ll be a next time. I'm grateful these roads were built so Robert, and others, could show us so much beauty. My husband's family came from Norway about three generations ago. It is wonderful to see different parts of such an amazing country.

Im enjoying following your travel to the north of the arctic circle. I'm from Hammerfest, Finnmark. (now living in Fredrikstad. 1hour from Oslo)
I have been at most of the places you have visiting in north of Finland and Norway, so its funn to see. Im amazed that you have manage to visit so many of plases at so little time. it's a long drive on tiny roads with amazing views :)
ps. sorry about the wheter. its normal up north and it can go form blue sky to rain and back in a few hours, and then do the same again.

Technically you don't enter Lofoten before you hit Vågan kommune. Everything before that is Vesterålen, where I come from. :)

It was "lent" to me by a friend who owns a rental company, so if I mention savoniacaravan.fi then I guess technically it is sponsored. Bottom line, I only paid for diesel and propane.

Too bad you had such lousy weather. I was in Lofoten islands first time in 1989 and those days we needed 11 ferries to get to Å. There was nothing in Å back then, just few fishermen cottages. Last time. I was there in 1991 and there were new roads, bridges and tunnels. The old road went through the town Sortland that used to be the biggest. The road continued on east coast of Langøya. A bridge between Langøya and Hadseøya was biggest I had ever seen up to 1991. A ferry from Melbu to Fiskebøl took 25 minutes. Nowadays E10 makes a shortcut in that area. Norway roads takes at least double or triple of time than people usually estimates. Tero

While it's technically correct that it is on the western coast of Norway in the sense that it's a coast and it's to the west we don't use the term here in Norway for that area.
Here in Norway the west coast is areas roughly southwest of Trondheim and northwest of the southern most point of Norway.
Basically the western part of the "bulge" to the south.
Everything else we'd say northwestern or some such as those areas are further east then the actual western coast but they're further northwest.
(Usually we'd just use the name of the region though, Finnmarkskysten (the Finnmark coast) or Nordlandskysten (the Nordlands coast) basically the coast of whatever the name of the region is.

Fishing vessels from all over Norway used to come up there to fish off the northern coast of Norway in ships perhaps 25-30% longer then your RV (I might be wrong, not easy to eyeball lengths just based on a video) all the way south from Bergen and up.

When I was in "folk high school" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folk_high_school) I sailed from Trondheim to essentially that Museum in a traditional fishing vessel from 1800 or so then we sailed one of their viking ship replicas.
Unfortunatly there was no wind that day so we had to stick to just oars instead of testing their new oil covered sails (I don't remember the details of what the deal was with that sail, it was stinking at any rate, but they had apparently been hoping to test a theory with us but didn't get a chance to do so...)

Man, that almost looks like your standard rural road on Iceland.
There's a lot of those on Iceland, there's quite a few in Norway too but you don't see them as much due to them mostly going to individual farms, houses, logging camps etc quite some distance from the villages and because there's usually forest in the way hiding them.

Remember when approaching Norway you filmed a Sami flag and said you where getting close to Norway because you saw a "Norwegian" flag?
Well, here is the *real* Norwegian flag. ;-)
The Sami one is different and got a circle in it instead of a cross like the Norwegian one does.
Both flags have both Red and Blue in them but the Sami one also got some Yellow and Green while the Norwegian one also got some White..
I do hope you'll return as Norway got a lot to offer and I think you'll enjoy it if you have the time to do so. ^^
It's a bit of a luck thing too though as the part of the coast where the bad weather hits differs each year.
One year they all hit to the south, another they all hit to the north, a third one they all hit in the middle etc...

That said I have been to an ice bar in Hong Kong and got thoroughly plastered on too many vodkas. And speaking of supermarkets in foreign countries, the wife and I just got back from Tokyo and I got a kick out of the convenience stores and supermarkets. Gotta love places where you walk into a 7/11 and buy a can of beer to drink on the street. Come on America!
Too bad I was driving and couldn't have too many vodkas. It is cool to see the different things they have in different countries at the supermarket.

Very nice video, Robert, but I was disappointed that you didn't at least show some of the museum and displays in the Viking Museum at 23.30. More interesting than supermarkets, or even the ice sculpture place, interesting though they are as well, but Viking is part of the history of these countries. Your trip, though, and I do enjoy your videos. You weren't in the mode for the Viking Museum then, but how often will you be doing this drive?

At least in Finland the law states that everyone needs to use winter tires in wintertime, not chains. (Winter tires, these things: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_tire#/media/File:Spikereifen.JPG ) I'm pretty sure it's the same thing in Sweden and Norway. Chains aren't as good as softer tires with metal studs
Yup, in the part of Norway Robert drives, snow tires are mandatory from October 16th to May 1st. Some have studded winter tires, but studless are more common. Chains are only for exstreme situations and short distances. People know how to drive on snowy, slippery roads with studless winter tires in Norway.
You make great videos, kind of addicted to them. Wanted to ask how the heating system works for RV when you don't have access to electric power? Also can you please do a informative video for tourists if they want to hire a RV and travel in US.

Thank you! The furnace on the Sunlight is very efficient. The heat is produced by LPG, and it has a fan that doesn't consume a whole lot. We never had a problem boondocking overnight, even in cold places.

We also had wine, but still, yikes. Norway is very expensive, even more so in the remote north
The fish soup and bread was $20-21, not too bad for an expensive dish being in a fancy restaurant in a tourist (trap) area. Bacalao is $28 at that restaurant. What makes the meal expensive is the wine, that would easily be $10-12 or more per glass.
Fishing boats all over I thought fish might be reasonable...
you should make video how to stay motivated.... Last time a have problem to motivated myself to create a new videos... I have a lot of shots to do that but running out of motivation :( Its hard to share my time with my work, kids and youtube... I have to give up one of these 3things and probably thats have to be my 40h/60h week work :))))
