    Looks like you added a heat shield onto your drive that’s a good idea, I can imagine how much heat is generated from the torch. Those are some beautiful cuts.

    I’m curious what pressures you have your gas and oxygen? I just bought a track torch and am only going to be cutting 1” mild steel. I would love to get those results.

    • @902001biggin
      @902001biggin  3 роки тому

      For 3” we use a #2 tip and 120psi oxygen and 30psi propane but that’s way overkill for 1”
      What size tip do you have sir?

      @@902001biggin I used a #2 tip and set pressures to the normally suggested setting. I was pretty happy with the results but ultimately decided to send the job out to be laser cut. I’ll have the track to play with in the future though. Thanks for replying and sorry for my delayed response.

      id tell you, but its easier to tell you this, mapp/propane/acetylene is the same when it comes to cutting, but each one has a less or more heat in the psi used. too hot the carbon in the cut will stick to the plate inside the cut, you are looking for it to fall off in sheets like you see at 4:55. watch the slag that shoots out the back you are looking for a solid steady spray and barely anything slicking and building up on the parts. if it builds up and globs fall down the travel speed is either too fast or the cut is too cold.
