So we all know how easy it is to connect android auto or carplay to the device. Pretty much every review on the internet shows the same thing. The real question is, once it is all setup and complete, how long does it take for the carplay/android auto to come up on the screen from the time you start the car? For my car, android auto shows up as soon as I plug the usb c cable into the phone.... so I'm guessing this device can't beat that. However, it if takes 20 seconds after car start for android auto to pop up on the screen, that is acceptable. If it takes 40 seconds... forget it.
I think this may vary from vehicle to vehicle. Some vehicles infotainmemnt systems boot up faster than others. My Honda Pilot seems to take longer than my friends Tacoma and we use the exact same device. I've heard that sometimes the phone may cause some delays.
My Lexus UX and Pixel 8Pro connect within 10 seconds. The only thing i don't like is that i still need to change to AA split screen view... Otherwise very happy with the compatibility.
Thanks but the negative point is on my Toyota Yaris Hybrid, brand new, it cannotbe reckognized when pushing the voice command key on the wheel, have to go to the screen, this is not good at all. It says, no device reckognized. This is really bad, since this is essential !
Oh no. I'm pretty sure you can contact Carlinkit and let them know the issue since your car is new. They will most linkly update the software to fix this but for you and others with the same issue.
I’m unable to connect my Ford Puma 2022. I’ve recently changed my mobile from android to Iphone and I’ve been using wireless carlinkit for android auto with no problems. I’ve just recieved my carlinkt 5.0 2 air and yet i’m unable to connect my iphone. It doesn’t give me any option to pair with device like in video. Is there any app that I’ve to download for CarPlay on my device first just like android auto ? If not how should i proceed to connect my iphone. It does connect to bluetooth of my mobile. But it doesn’t pair. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Nope.... Did all that just now and it did nothing. Uninstalled old carlinkit 3 software on my car infotainment system and wiped AA memory of previous connection ready for carlinkit 5 to freshly boot up. It was a fail.... Not happy. Carlinkit 3.0 wasn't much to rave about. These carlinkit dongles are very problematic.... Do they ever connect first time out of the box ????
This adapter works for 2016 Toyota rav4 ?
Yes as long as your vehicle has a wired carplay

Try forgetting bluetooth connection to the carlink on your vehicle and your phone. Try if that works.
