In Spain it was made as a Seat 850 sport spider, the sport coupe version was also made,i would have left it im the english green or miura creen, you have left them very beautiful, enjoy it a lot,the 903 engine took it here in Spain many cars later, seat 127,seat panda, seat marbella, here there are many parts and it is easy to prepare
I bought a total from the junkyard for $85 and fixed it up with a new dashboard and another top and I was cruising I was proud of that dashboard and yeah I put seats out of a 71 I believe I had a 69 but the seats were high back the little engines for what they were were pretty peppy
I've watched all your 850 spider videos and am impressed. Not a lot of videos on restoration or repairs I just picked up a barn find 71 850 spider. i was curious if you would mind if I picked your brain from time to time
Are you sure it's a 1968 model year? I thought the '68s still had the oblique headlights. Mine is identical... even the "Blu Romantico" color (but with the U.S. spec high-back seats) and it was sold new in late '68, but I'm almost certain it's the '69 model.
It could be! Back in the day they were daily driven. Interstate for long periods of time may be challenging but the main thing is being seen. Other cars are much bigger these days
Haha well…. I wanted to make sure I got it! The spring in the shifter is pretty tight. Nothing more awkward than thinking you’re in gear and you’re not
Good to see it driving. Sad you sell it, but if thats how you are going to keep going with an other thats ok!. It seemed that the clutch pedal travel was a little long, also you wont redo the seats?. Cheers and good work!
The travel did seem far, but an adjustment is pretty simple too. Good catch! I’m no upholstery person, so I’ll let the next guy/gal have fun with that ;)
You are running that 850 like an American V8. Please shift at 4000 rpm or more. Your 850 will love you for it and you will enjoy it more. Pretend you are Fangio at the track.
You've provided me with a very useful set of videos that will really help when the time comes for me to put mine back together. Thanks so much !
You are so welcome! You’ve followed along for so long, and I couldn’t thank you enough.
My first car. 1968 850 Spider. Blue. Congratulations on a beautiful restoration!!
She’s for sale you know ;) thank you!!

A great car for cruising in the country side.
@@josvandencamp8441 absolutely!
Congratulations and thank you!
what a beautiful car
Your legs are so long for those little cars! Be safe!
My first car was a 72 850 Spyder, bought in HS, sold it a few years later to help with college expenses, $400 and 21K miles. {sigh} I'm sad now.
@@sms9106 if only we knew then what we do now!
You should be able to start quite immediately, check you plugs , timing ,points or dirty carburettor .
You got some great content here! Can't wait to ride in one of the fiats.
You better come Over fast before the 850 sells!
This was great!... keep it up
Need to get some tiny Italian shoes just to drive that thing . 😝
It’s the Italian car life for me! Lol

It was so fun to drive!
One more Fiat on the Road again, Nice Job
Thank you for following along for so long!
The one I had I remember it was cool it sat low
Beautiful car...congratulations!
Beautiful little car. How much is it?
I sold it! It was a fun project!
Only 2 or 3 cylinders are running
Mr. Personality here folks!

Go for it! You can message me on instagram.
People were staring because you looked like Big Bird in a go kart!

From all the documentation that I had with it, it led me to believe it was a 68, first year after the covered headlight model.
I really want to see you drive it around and visit some car clubs before you sell it. But if you’ve got other projects in the works, let’s see it go.
I’d love to take it to a show before it’s sold too, but we will see! I depends what happens first.
I’m thinking about getting one of these, could it conceivably be daily driven? And how would it do on the interstate?

@@GarageTimeTV Thanks for the reply! I'm a bigger guy, 6'2 250 pounds, do you think I could fit in it good enough lol?
@@FennixGamingYT for perspective, I’m just under 6’5”. My knees are up a bit, but it can be done. I was able to drive it alright.
Two hands for reverse? It’s not like it’s an np435.

I know the feeling of the first drive after months. Idea for another one... A fiat van😉
I want a Fiat van so bad…. Especially a camper van. So hard to find here in the states.
@@GarageTimeTV not only in the us, there are quite a few in the UK though.
@@mikevl1 one day… I’ll find me a good one! lol

Great! But if you had put some wood in thé dash It would have been even better! Thank you
The wood veneer was pretty cracked unfortunately :( so I went with a silver. Little unique you know ;)
Did you end up selling this Fiat? I see one exactly like it for sale in Houston (same plates) and I'm curious if you sold it to a new owner.
I did sell it
I owned an 850 coupe in that colour and the carburetor was very problematic.
Ya… they are notoriously bad. In hindsight, I should have done an upgrade.

I don’t know if I should take that as a compliment or not 😆
