The Gaelco carts were a real eye opener for me and great fun,I'd never heard of the developer until Evercade..Thunderhoop 2 and the Rally games are awesome and i now have a real soft spot for Big Karnak.
Some great choices. I would add the Codemasters cart too. This video will be very useful for the new Evercade owners joining the ranks this Christmas Good work CB. 👍
Some great choices as always CB. I must say it was cool to see the Gaelco Jaleco Arcade carts as they are the 2 of the last 3 I don't own. I was surprised that Renovation didn't make the cut. Some outstanding games on there too. Personally Data East Arcade is the cart I play the most, really getting into Breakthru but it's so tough! Fab choices as ever. Another great video.
Thanks mate.. yes breakthru is tough.. though battle vol 5 is much harder. There was a couple of carts I couldve had in there.. Renovation was 1 of them. Maybe even Oliver Twins Collection and Technos Arcade. I think if anyone was starting out though these 8 would be perfect.
@@CrazyBurger agreed on a starter set, i would have possibly added Data East Arcade though. That has a great mix of games, styles & genres but definitely hard to disagree with you, except making it a top 10!!
There are currently four Evercade carts that are now out of license. They currently can not be purchased via Amazon us or Amazon uk. From the Evercade blog (all 4 titles are now flagged as "Currently Unavailable"; date license ended indicated: Namco Collection 1 (ended June 2022) Will not work in Vs as of firmware 2.1.1 Namco Collection 2 (ended June 2022) Will not work in Vs as of firmware 2.1.1 Technos Collection 1 (ended March 2022) Oliver Twins Collection (ended March 2022) The only one that I don't already own, Technos Collection 1 (the Red Case release; the Purple Case release of Technos Arcade 1 is still in license and is readily available), I've purchased on eBay from a seller in Australia. I didn't pay silly money for it, but these four titles are going up in price on eBay. Although this information is readily available on the internet I've never seen anyone do a video about it. Blaze Entertainment has said that they are working to renegotiate the lost licenses. I've verified that all three carts that I already own still work in the original Evercade handheld.
Never played the atari lynx back then but I really enjoy their carts, some games I was interested never showed up and I hope we see a collection 3 eventually 🤞
Very good choices. The only one I personally wouldn’t think is needed of these is the Indie Heroes and I’d probably replace it with Renovation but that’s just me
@@kissthistwice5 lol wow really? That surprises me. I suppose if you don't like Dizzy then you really won't enjoy this. I grew up with it on the c64 and loved them.. it was a topic of conversion with my mates at school.
I would absolutely recommend Renovation collection as one of the "must owns". Games like Gaiares, Arcus Odyssey (great in co-op!), Granada, and El Viento are so much fun! Even the bad games of the collection have some endearing charm with their ambitious intro graphics and cool music. Renovation and Gaelco 1 are my favourite carts. Personally I´m not that fond of the games published by Mega Cat. I bought Collection 1 just for Tänzer and that one game is lightyears ahead of the other titles. Little Medusa and Old Towers are pretty good, but the rest felt uninspired. I haven´t bought Mega Cat 2, but since the first collection wasn´t to my taste I´d better stick to other carts. Very much looking forward to Jaleco Arcade, it´s one I don´t own and Avenging Spirit looks like it´s a blast to play! I hope we´ll get even more lesser known arcade games in 2023. I´ve already got lots of titles from the likes of Capcom and Sega, there are so many overlooked games from Data East, Jaleco and Irem that would excite me more!
@@CrazyBurger Nah, you do you! It all boils down to personal taste in the end, and anybody curious can see the Renovation suggestion in the comments :)
I’ve got 3 out of those 8. Again I think it boils down to what games in particular you personally are drawn back to play over others?! Having 1 GREAT game on a Cart doesn’t make it a contender for being “One of the Best”. So I personally think that number of 8 is a lot smaller. Also I think DATA EAST (collection 1) could be a contender. It offers a fair amount of games, which are not just varied but are GOOD! 🤔
Yes that's definitely another early cart that had some excellent games. I do agree with you. My choices are best on how long I've played the cart and how often I went back to replay it.
Ah interesting.. Atari probably doesn't get a lot of love as the games have aged pretty bad. I'll always have a soft spot for Atari since the 2600 was my first ever games machine.
@@CrazyBurger Ninja Golf was silly fun. I had a near full set (92%) complete but a full silver box set back when I was collecting. Such a good system. I just rarely used it. Would love to see some more 7800 getting some love
@@simonpophale1250 yeah agree, some 5200 would be good too. Ideally I'd like to see the Activision games that were on the 2600.. like River Raid, HERO and Keystone Cops.
Haha ha.. lol noooo. That's still down at the other end of the scale as worst cart. 3 games? 2 unplayable on the handheld and 1 puzzler that's dreadful?! Worms armaggedon definitely fun as multiplayer however.
I'm sorry, but there's NO excuse for choosing Tanglewood/Xenocrisis over Renovation...Tanglewood and Xenocrisis suck a duck compared to Valis and El Viento (or Beast Wrestler in my opinion) and you get WAY better value with 12 games on the cart vs 2 games!

Same here, definitely an unknown for me. A pleasant surprise.
Love it! I've never seen anything like this, I hope I can find one. Great video! Thanks for sharing buddy
Thanks.. Amazon, Funstock are probably you're best bet
I'm a little late to the Evercade party. Thanks for introducing me to Xenocrisis! DAMN WHAT A BANGER!!!!

That was my thoughts really, a vid for newbies. I'd expect we will see a few new folks once the EXP hits.

Thanks Crazy Burger just ordered 3 carts from watching this video thank you 👍👍

Yeah fingers crossed. There's also potentially a few homebrew games they could add.
For three seconds I thought it was a foreign language video, then my brain automatically tuned into Scottish mode.
😵💫

Lol another one for Renovation.. its a tough call, I potentially couldve added this and the Oliver Twins collection.

May I kindly suggest some index points? WOudl be nivce to zoom to a game without having to watch the whole vid?

I feel like if the Piko cart was coming out today it would be split over 2 to 3 carts.
Lol yeah sadly that sounds too true. Such a Shame. What a brilliant valued cart this was.
Just wondering any arcade horseracing games out on evercade
Yeah I think there's Steeplechase on the Atari collections.

What, no Renovation? Denied!
Missed the cut. It was definitely considered though. Another day I might change my mind.
There is no game on the physical cartridge! We are being tricked by this shady company!
What you on about?
Have you got a sauce to go with that Mark?
