Hi Sam, I just adore your cute Jonathan bear and am now inspired to knit my own bear into being too. Your blue cable sweater will look fantastic when you finish it so keep on going back to it. I admire your patience and determination to get your projects fitting just right, if I have to rip back more than once or twice on my projects I tend to lose the joy of knitting them and end up putting them to one side for a long time. I understand your reluctance with cables; I’m ok knitting cables but colour work and knitting with three or four needles are my personal tribulations. However, I’m determined to knit a Norwegian style colour work yoke jumper this year come what may! Love your podcasts : )
Thanks so much! I really wish I could develop a better live for cables 😂 I always admire you people that are so good at knitting wonderful cable jumpers!
We love you Sam. You have such an incredible approach to knitting.....its like engineering! Might I say its a particularly male way of opproaching it. all meant in the very best way. you are incredible. Thanks for the ongoing inspiration, and entertainment. Be well.
Hi, Sam! New viewer here. Love Jonathan! (And all your other knits, too!) If you are at all interested in Jewish history, the Exodus (by Leon Uris) is excellent. He also has many other great books. If you’re interested in classics, give Charles Dickens a try. One of my favorite fantasy authors, besides Tolkien, is David Eddings - The Belgariad series, The Mallorean series, and The Elenium series. Enjoy!
Oh thanks so much !!!!! Jonathan says thank you too! 🧸 Thanks for the books recommendation, I don’t know much about Jewish history, I definitely will look into the Leon Uris book! Also, massive fan of the Belagriad series!!!!!!😍
Jonathan is adorable! I can’t wait to see the re-engineered cable sweater, it’s beautiful so far. Now I want to re-read Name of the Rose, I remember loving it and the movie was very good with Sean Connery I think. My husband and sons are obsessed with the Patrick O’Brien books right now starting with Master and Commander. Great podcast!
I was a bit late watching your podcast, really enjoyed it. So great to see all your works. I hope Jonathan is behaving himself 😂 I like the book discussions too, a lot. Thanks for all your time and effort put into the videos. ❤
Another Irish related book recommendation: Angela’s Ashes, by Frank McCourt… this is a memoir of his childhood… very amazing and incredibly well written.
Book recommendations: Ireland, by Frand Delaney… wonderful… also available in an excellent audio format. Also: At Swim Two Boys, by Jamie O’Neill… another excellent tale about Ireland, which is also LGBT oriented… have read several times and highly recommend it!!!
I love Jonathan. He is sooo cute....a chip off the old block. I'm confused I thought you said you didn't finish a cable sweater but at the end I thought you said you finished a sweater by the person you are thinking about doing another pattern. I thought you difinish a cable sweater. Whatever you do, do not abandon the blue cable sweater!!! I love that sweater!!! It's a good thing you don't live here. Your mind would go crazy buying yarn. There are specials all the time. I find it hard to say no and I should! It doesn't help watching yarn reviews! I want it all! I am waiting for an order from the UK to come soon. Do you watch Stuart from The WoolPatch? He has people from all over making the emotional support chickens in the colors of the flag representing the countries in the Olympics for his shop window! He is making Italy. I love his podcasts. Look him up! I think you would like him too! (The emotional support chicken pattern and kits are very popular here. I need more than a stuffed chicken for emotional support 🤣🤣🤣) ♥️♥️☘️🧶🧶☘️♥️♥️
Hi thanks so much for your comment!!!! I was probably a bit confusing 😂 I was meant to say I never managed to finish a cabled jumper knitted in pieces. My poor brain can’t cope with that! I must check your channel recommendation, must be a great podcast 😍
Gotcha! I hate sewing pieces too. I do think you would enjoy Stuart at the UA-cam channel The Wool Patch. He dyes a special local historical blue colored wool. I hope to get some this year. It’s limited.
So impressed with how fast you knit the Zipper Sweater. Also, I just knit a rainbow garment, but it's a secret so unfortunately, I cannot use it for your KAL.
A BOOK FOR SAM TO READ ‘Red Carpets and other Banana Skins’ By Rupert Everett. It’s a biography but very light hearted and funny! AND couldn’t we all do with a good laugh right now given the state of the world . . . . . Download it as an audiobook to save room in your library and then you can knit and laugh at the same time while listening.

“Roots” by Alex Haley and “The Grapes of Wrath” by John Steinbeck are both excellent books that I probably need to read again.

Lima yarn from Drops it is a felting yarn 😂. I do love this yarn for men. I would like to try it for myself too in the future.
I agree! It’s nice and soft being warm at the same time. I wish it was a bit more sturdy though
Been waiting all week for your new video
Hope you enjoyed it!
