Follow these steps: Open Adobe Acrobat. Go to “File,” and click “Open.” Choose the PDF file you want to edit. Once your file opens, select “Edit PDF” from the toolbar on the right. If you want to edit text, place your cursor on the text you want to edit. THIS TUTORIAL WAS SO GOOD I DIDN'T EVEN WATCH BEYOND 2:01 AND I WAS ABLE TO EDIT MY DOCUMENT SUCCESSFULLY AND SOLVED THE PROBLEM I'VE BEEN HAVING. Thank you! (I was trying to edit a lease that already has an electronic signature on it, instead of their first name, what was on the document read as (insert first name) and they had already signed the document through HelloSign. I just dragged the signed PDF file into MS word and the rest is history. Thank you, again.)
Just a heads up to everyone, one should be cautious uploading pdfs to an online editor, especially when these are banking docs or other docs that have your personal info. We do not know how your data will be safeguarded by the online companies.

Hey Kevin. This video has great content. The 1st 2 suggestions are outdated as of today 03/19/2023. However, the Libre office is still holding strong. Those who run into issues may want to consider utilizing a browser like Epic or Brave. It seems like Chrome & Microsoft Edge don't like free software suggestions or block them and push you to their in "store" options. Thanks again.😇
LibreOffice is quite a mature and very capable product. It works so well on Mac products. I recently installed version 7 as I start 2021 and don’t expect any concerns. There is a huge variety of tools in settings so the program can be ‘dressed’ to suit a look and your working style.

For me, password protection is a key requirement. I also need to easily convert jpgs to pdf, separate pdf docs in to individual pages, combine pdf images into single documents, and I always like the ability to fully edit pdf's. Having tried many free options, I bit the bullet and paid for Small PDF - they have a free version, but I needed the full service. Crazy that Adobe don't offer a product for occasional light weight users!
Still happy with Small PDF. But they have recently announced withdrawal of support for the locally based version. This has significant benefits over the online version. Especially the ability to password protect multiple documents. Waiting to see if the online version will incorporate the local version benefits.
From a Newbe, not having the experience using Microsoft Office or Libre Office I am pleased you made this video about PDF alternatives, still if you have a recommended signature app and or a tutorial of setting up signatures it would be appreciated. This video was great. I already have LibreOffice, so that was a surprise to see in your video. Though it wasn't clear how to add text. I went to "Insert" but I only see options to add images or video. I'll have to research it. For now I ended up downloading Sejda PDF Desktop (so I could use the fonts on my computer. I needed one that looked like handwriting, the online version didn't have that.)

Does Sedja work locally or upload to their server before edit? Privacy could be a problem with them taking copies.

Did you draw it on paper and then take a picture of it?

The office app for examples displays a drawing area if you have no signature stored, but you can also take a picture or scan paper.
Draw and capture it, then convert it into your desired format.
If you have a mac, you can use "preview'-(comes preinstalled in Mac). It will allow you to create/save your signatures using your mouse or trackpad.
