@KevinStratvert As a couple of people have commented, McAfee says that the installation file contains a virus. Can you confirm whether that is correct?
@@martin.j.osborne Hey Martin - I worked with the PDFgear team on producing this content and they seem legit. They have a full team working on the product and are based out of Singapore. That said, it’s always important to exercise caution when downloading software from the internet. Sometimes antivirus programs can produce false positives, which likely happened with McAfee. A sampling of a broad set of antivirus companies shows no issues with PDFgear (www.virustotal.com/gui/file/74857f6cb96af8ca50d7e06b49a90f78b2a62106772ea6729fd0790bf3098fe9). Additionally, discussions on platforms like Reddit suggest that users have not reported issues with PDFgear related to viruses or malware and reviews from sources like TechRadar and PCWorld have not indicated any major security concerns. Of course, I can't guarantee 100%, but I felt comfortable installing PDFgear on my own machines.
The fact that a spokesperson from PDFGear itself is responding right here to comments has encouraged me to download the software on to my iPad. I will do the same on my laptop. Thank you for making my day easier as I have scanned in multiple documents that I need to email, but as a single one, with annotations on some pages.
As long as PDF has been around it just boggled my mind that there was no good "free" option to work with PDF's especially for simple things like changing page order or manipulating, deleting pages or stuff like that. Paying some crazy price for something I use a couple times a year seems crazy and I'm happy to finally see something available to help with this! Thank you PDFGear!
I used it last night after seeing this video. It edited, allowed me to e-sign, and didn't hold my finished work hostage until I pay for a subscription like these so called free pdf editing sites. It works for me.
I'm blown away by this PDF editing software. It's incredibly powerful, and the best part? It's completely free! I wasted $70 on another one before finding this.
This is awesome. I have been looking for a pdf editor and nothing I have found works better than PDFgear. Thank you for introducing this to me. I love it.
thrilled about this. I've spent an arm and a leg on paid PDF editing software. It's been a major pain. Thank you for showing me this. Thrilled about it saving me so much money now.
I've had to spend a lot for unnecessary subscriptions😢 when all I needed were a few basic editing features. So, don't feel too badly, you have company😊 Thanks Kevin!
This appears to be an excellent PDF editor; however, I do have one question (that I hope will be answered): When you select a document, regardless of the type of document, and you begin editing it and then save the edited file, does this program save it as a "new" file, or does it save the original document with the edits? Ultimately, will the user still have a copy of the "original" file PLUS a copy of the 'edited" file? @pdfgear If you can shed some light on this question, I would certainly appreciate it.
@@4-7th_CAV It's up to you! PDFgear will save the changes to the original document by default, but you can always use the "Save As" function in the top left corner to save the document to a "new" file, which you might feel safer. :)
Kevin, this is a game changer, thank you! As a Virtual PA, I periodically have PDFs I need to edit. Hopefully, when the premium functions kick in, the folk at PDFGear won’t get greedy and include some of those “essentials”, like other software companies do 😉 Thanks again!

Hi, when does PDFGear have the option that when pasting a jpg signature file can a person RETAIN the existing background on the page eg if the signature "overlaps" some text its the text background still visible?
@@pdfgear Hi! Just downloaded the app onto a MacPro desktop; it doesn't have the same options as what is showing onscreen? I have far fewer (Kevin's tutorial shows 19 options under 'All Tools'). And under editing ... is there no spellcheck on this application? Is this something we can use the ChatGPT for ... ask it to proof spelling, punctuation, etc.? Thanks! You just saved me!! i was trying to edit the job application form from a company that I apply for for and I cant afford the adobe pro.. I was stuck till I found your video THANKSS!!!
This just solved so many problem in my business . I will definitely use this everyday. Thank you for the walk through as well. You showed us how powerful this really is !!! Thx.
This looks much too good to be true but since it's recommended by Kevin, I decided to try it. It installed easily on Win 7 and I converted a Word document with pictures to PDF in a few seconds. It's Great !! 🙂
Just had to convert a heavy graphic and words pdf into a MS Word doc and so decided to try out PDF Gear having initially tried the MS Word conversion tool. While Word messed up the formatting, making it very difficult to edit the doc (in Word), pdf Gear worked extremely fast and accurately. Given it's ease of use, I'm about to give up on my paid for pdf editing software with a view to only using pdf Gear - for if it can do complex conversions with this level of accuracy then my guess is that it'll do the more mundane stuff equally as well. So, well done Kevin, for another excellent video and recommendation.
Thanks Kevin for letting us know of this wonderful tool. However, upon checking it looks like all the PDFgear programs seem to connect to the Cloudflare CDN IP addresses, which makes me wonder what user information/telemetry it sends out. I understand the Co-Pilot will try to connect outside on the Internet but any modern programs need to let the users know of the external connectivity. For now, I've disabled the Internet connectivity to all the PDFgear programs via the Windows Firewall. I'll be happy to purchase the application or its advanced features after some testing.
giving a like... stopped paying for adobe acrobat and just searched..you came up and you earned my like... straight to the point... and no "sign up or subscription" to complete
Excellent for most people, especially at this price point 🙂It’s simple, clean, easy and full-featured. I will give it a try as my default PDF editor for a while. So far, the only con, is the rendering of the page thumbnails that is so-so.
The whole time I'm watching, I think, "This app is amazing... it's exactly what I've been looking for..." and wait for the other shoe to drop. Why IS this free? But what's been presented as currently free, with paid on the horizon, I think is fair. I'm still digging into the details of "Does the AI assistant also use my personal data in my PDFs to help train the model for everyone else?" Reading the PRIVACY POLICY, it appears not, but I'm not an expert. Have installed and looking forward to giving it a shakedown over the next few weeks. Thanks for telling us about this.
Great tool and works as Kevin describes beautifully. Applications for things that were frustrating or very time consuming are virtually eliminated. And the built in "Chat GPT" function is another powerful benefit - you can create summaries, extract text and data directly inside of PDF Gear without the trouble of pasting/copying/saving/etc over to an external Chat Bot. Note: It is a GIANT memory hog on your PC - and will have to periodically "delete" the App from your PC to remove the gigabits of data that it stores each time you use. Of course, you can also use ONLY for select documents as you and select another default PDF reader for every day use.

I like it a lot too, but it doesn't let you make pages appear stuck togeter, there's always a gap between each page displayed. Also I wonder when Linux support comes if ever.
This one is new to me but currently and for many years I have used Libre Office for creating a .pdf incorporating text and images. The suite offers other options too but for spreadsheets I still use Works which I got included with my original computer purchase in 1995 5 months after the release of Windows 95. Can this program be used to view downloaded .pdf files and then additionally allow one to select and copy text for other uses from a downloaded file? PDF X Change viewer in some versions does and then an update will change the option and then later revert. Frustrating. Any info would be appreciated.
You're very good at this, Kevin, thank you for the info! By the way, if you ever make a cookie that has almost no caleries and carbs, and still tastes good...I will order some. A lot, actually. :)
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing! It seems to be, finally, a tool that allows me to edit PDF files without paying for Adobe Acrobat or anytihng else and without having the final result looking ugly and wrong. 👍🏻 I hope they don't force us to upgrade to a paid version in the future to retain the same functionality (even if we're stuck with the current version it seems to have what we mostly need, which is basic PDF editing, something that doesn't work well on anything I have tried that's free, thus far).
THANK YOU SIR KEVIN AND TO THE UA-cam I FOUND THIS VIDEO, NOW I CAN EDIT THE PDF FILES THAT MY COMRADES SENT TO ME, GREAT CONTENT I AM NOW YOUR NEW SUBSCRIBER

Definitely a worthy alternative to Adobe's pdf reader. Has all the featurea I need to work on.
Thank you so much for bringing this software to my attention. I have many uses for it. 👍
Nice video Kevin!
But, when I download it, McAfee says that it just stopped a threat and quarantines it!
Hi! That's a false positive and we're fixing this with them. 😭 Please feel assured to use PDFgear. It's safe.
this is by far the most useful ai tools an admin could ever have~
This absolutely crazy and overpowered to be free. Hope it stays free.
Such a good video and such a good PDF reader! Idc if they add premium actions while they keep the basic actions for free. Nice recomendation
You're very good at this, Kevin, thank you for the info! By the way, if you ever make a cookie that has almost no caleries and carbs, and still tastes good...I will order some. A lot, actually. :)
Just the tool I need. Thank you so much.
Can you find a free tool to combine several PDFs into ba single pdf ?
? it has a Merge PDF feature.
PDFgear can do this, also for free.
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing! It seems to be, finally, a tool that allows me to edit PDF files without paying for Adobe Acrobat or anytihng else and without having the final result looking ugly and wrong. 👍🏻
I hope they don't force us to upgrade to a paid version in the future to retain the same functionality (even if we're stuck with the current version it seems to have what we mostly need, which is basic PDF editing, something that doesn't work well on anything I have tried that's free, thus far).
Hey Kevin Good video… Ive been using this for a few years now. And your video highlighted a few things I didn’t know.. Cheers 🙏🏻👍🏻
Enjoy more features in PDFgear haha 😎
Truly the best free PDF editor
Hats off for this great tool which my is go to tool nowadays. Many thanks
THANK YOU SIR KEVIN AND TO THE UA-cam I FOUND THIS VIDEO, NOW I CAN EDIT THE PDF FILES THAT MY COMRADES SENT TO ME, GREAT CONTENT I AM NOW YOUR NEW SUBSCRIBER
Thanks Kevin, you always give really useful information
Great video! At the moment Adobe acrobat is ridiculously expensive and uses a subscription model. That makes Adobe Acrobat a big fat sitting duck to PDFGear's business model. It will get interesting to see how Adobe reacts.
