What a fascinating conversation, so well-done. Balanced, informative, insightful, encouraging. A Christian conversation that relies on evidence-based scientific findings with a number of options. Truth. Deliverance ministry is needed usually, to help in their healing process. I and my husband have been delivered of several strongholds that we brought in due to unrepentant sin. We are in a spiritual war. 🔥🙌🏻
Who wants to force someone to do the right thing? If a man doesn’t take seriously his addiction and get help he will forever demonize her and resent her. Why is this being put on women yet again?
My husband didn't resent me. Remember when Rosie said their brains aren't functioning properly. Is it fair? No. But I can tell you, being on the other end, it's worth it.
My take is that this isn't "being put on women", it's simply acknowledging that we, as women, are dealing with this in growing numbers (on both sides of the coin, either as partners of an addict, as addicts ourselves, or both). For someone dealing with this situation, this is literally a Godsend, a reminder that we're not going through any of this alone and that there's hope to be found, along with practical steps, like beginning by reaching out and to strengthen our own faith first so that the addicted spouse can recognize his (or her) own responsibility.
Ty for this. I’ve been through this and now my daughter in law. Praying my son gets help, He says he will. But this has been ongoing but she’s finally saying get help or else. It’s painful for all involved. My husband turned to underage girls as well. We divorced.
I don't think that approach works for everyone. Just can't say it's my way or the highway. That might work for some people but I don't think it works for everyone. I think she later goes on to say that just to focus on yourself and making yourself better if I heard that right. And I did try that myself, it's me or the highway. And it didn't work in my case. Marriage counseling from license therapist worked the best in my situation.
