I just discovered your channel and will follow going forward. Mega thanks for the time and effort you take to share your knowledge and experience as a backyard gardener. Now to tend to the day lilies and poppies in my yard🌾
Thank you so much for this information Vita . I was wondering what to do after the blooms were gone. And what those green pods were. How can you harvest the seeds and will they really grow more day lilies?
You're so very welcome! You can definitely leave the seedpods on the plant if you wish to harvest the seeds. You just want to wait until the seedpod turns brown. Eventually, it will open up and you will see the brown seeds in the capsules and you can remove the seeds and plant them. Just be sure to give the seeds a cold stratification period. You can look up how to do that on the internet, but basically you can do that by putting the seeds in the fridge or by doing something like the winter-sowing process. It's worth a try! Personally, I think it's easier to divide daylilies than grow them from seed as seed-grown daylilies take years before they bloom. Great question and good luck! 💗😊
Daylilies are so much fun and I love that you can divide them easily in order to make more plants for your yard. Bee Balm is also very easy to divide. It basically has runners (or underground stems / stolons) that you can just dig up, divide (as long as each piece as roots and a stem) and then replant. I'll be doing a video soon showing the process. 💗🌸
Another fine video Vita! Thank you! Between this video & your other video to divide lilies my garden really benefits from your instruction. Many thanks!!

Love the daylilies!!! How is the best way to increase bee balm? It is so shallow rooted!
