Lol I just got Foreflight yesterday and I feel the same way! I earned my private pilot license this past March and I’ve been using paper charts since. I’ve been fooling around with it for almost an entire day! It’s definitely different
I know im randomly asking but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
What an amazing app. I'm just a professional drone pilot and this is invaluable to me to get nearby airport info, CTAF, ATIS, METARs and TAFs and sectionals to quickly see airspace classes etc.
@foreflight if I have a wifi only iPad, but connect it to my phone’s mobile hotspot, will I be able to make full use of the log tracking feature or other GPS features?
Hello Guys, thanks for your nice product. I am a CIS pilot, work as a CFI in Kazakhstan, and unfortunately there are almost nothing, only basic information. Could you please develop and add more information into forflight for Kazakhstan airspace? Have used your app in Florida, brilliant, but not using in my country. Many pilots would have your app in Kazakhstan 🇰🇿... thank you and do not stop doing your business.
hi may i know for the ipad as you suggest in getting Wifi Cellular and you can have the GPS in the air, may i know its up to how many feet ? many thanks .
For GPS only, you don't. You don't get a signal at flight altitudes anyway, if you really need internet access, you can always create a Wi-Fi hotspot with your phone.
At 6:19 runway 5 has a 5kt headwind? I see a green arrow for 5kts on runway 5, and to me a green arrow indicates more speed, so I would think that it is a tailwind. I am wrong, did Ryan misspeak?
Still gonna need cellular if you want to activate your flight plan with a click of a button. I also fly aircraft exempt from ADS-B that I still take cross country, so no aircraft gps to connect to there.
Question for anyone that could answer me, the ruler on foreflight gives Magnetic Course? Is that correct? And if it is, to get my True course I would add/subtract the opposite to the variation lines to get true heading, and then add/subtract wind correction so I could get true course is that right? Thank you!!
Starting PPL training soon & thinking ahead does anyone know if: 1) Foreflight highlights a recommended altitude based on input and/or real-time info? 2) Is there autopilot integration? and if 2, 3) Will Foreflight/Auto-pilot querie to reroute based on changing conditions and/or Internet Traffic? Thanks in advance!!
The main point of this app is for inflight use on a tablet. Apple really dominates the tablet market (even though I love my android-based kindle), and if you're a pilot that is using this product and shelling out the annual fee it makes sense to have a dedicated iPad for this app.
@@2011blueman - Old comment, but just want to point out it is incorrect. Though apple is the largest player, they lost their domination in the tablet market way back in 2012. Since 2013, other brands (likely most running Android) have pretty steadily made up 2/3rds of the market share.
android fucked themselves by fusing multiple coding languages into their system. What is great for adaptability, is terrible for engineers... they dont want to mess with 6 languages...
@@herbert19461ik this is late and you probably already know this but just in case your dont, if you go over to setting there is an option to slow down the video which should help a lot.peace.
I haven’t flown since 2008. This level of technology is amazing!
Same here. I just went flying with a friend and saw this in action and thought...I need to redo my Instrument rating!
This was an EXCELLENT video course. He is concise, to the point, and articulate. Well done.
I can't believe how easy and awesome this is! I started using ForeFlight on day one of my flight training
I used physical maps and charts throughout my entire training... ForeFlight makes me feel like a caveman who just discovered fire.

That’s the way to do it. Use paper charts to train and then spoil yourself once you get your certificate

Foreflight is the greatest thing to Aviation since the wright brothers
What an amazing app. I'm just a professional drone pilot and this is invaluable to me to get nearby airport info, CTAF, ATIS, METARs and TAFs and sectionals to quickly see airspace classes etc.
Just curious what kind of credentials or certs must one have to become a professional drone pilot. I have a sport pilot cert
Cryptovestments part 107
As a pilot and drone pilot you don’t need any of that info as a drone pilot
The best app for VFR pilots- making general aviation safer.
Thank You! This is very helpful as I am completely new with foreflight. I just get my new iPad mini along with foreflight

Which version should I buy as a student pilot for VFR?
This was super useful! Time to check out the power user video now.

How to check distance and bearing between 2 airports without wind application
Another great feature
For the cellular iPad do you also need a plan with it?
For GPS only, you don't. You don't get a signal at flight altitudes anyway, if you really need internet access, you can always create a Wi-Fi hotspot with your phone.

It's green because you want to take off into the wind not with it
IMO: Since most, if not all planes will have ADS-B in/out coming this January (per mandate) the cellular version isn't needed any longer
Still gonna need cellular if you want to activate your flight plan with a click of a button. I also fly aircraft exempt from ADS-B that I still take cross country, so no aircraft gps to connect to there.

For ppl you don't need autopilot but for ifr you do
How long does it really take to understand this software?
Good job
Can you use a Samsung tab?
no
I wish.
To bad they don't make a version of ForeFlight for sailplane pilots.
Any luck for Android anytime soon??
No plans for Android support right now.

@@foreflight big fail because there are more android users than apple users. That's a huge amount of lost $$$$$!

Well taught overview.
MAKE IT FOR ANDROID ALREADY

Not compatible with my iPad. Too old, I guess. Not my iPhone, either.
This is a really amazing app. It would be much more amazing if I didn't have to use a stupid, obnoxious Apple product.
This is too old. The current version of Foreflight is different in multiple ways today, August 1, 2022.
:))
I don't do Apple!
Good for you. No one cares.
