The "ding" sound is your Farming skill awarding you an extra harvest-able item. According to the wiki: "A chance to gather one extra product with up to a 25% chance. It works on crops, seeds, mushrooms and berries found in nature."
Upgraded flint spears are great against Shaman. It can stun their action and it usually takes 2, well place throws of the spear to take them down. Spear throwing is an art form and often a source of frustration when throwing, missing and trying to locate the spear. Carry 2, just in case. 😅
Stumbled across the first ep in this series a few days ago and immediately subbed. I love your vibe here, it's the perfect balance of chill and entertaining. Also Rosie is an adorable name for a Viking lady. ❤
The "ding" sound when you pick up two forage items is indeed new, it appears when your skill (in this case farming) is granting a bonus (2 things instead of one). Your fire keeps dying not because of the walls, but because the roof is way too low over it and there is too much concentration of smoke. If you build a normal chimney, it will keep going even if you put 4 walls all around it.
It's a pretty pixelated game when you look closely, but the atmosphere, the artistic touch, the lighting effects make it an extremely addictive game. In addition, the fights are "realistic" for a video game, no big lighting effects, no display of enemy HP, no stupid screams. It's one of my favorite games with 7 DtD.
For a lower resolution game it really is beautiful. They knew what they were doing with the lighting, it almost feels real at times. And 7 Days is another one of my favorites too
Alright my friend, you earned another subscriber. I like how you're all calm until the raid starts lol. Decent enough editing, as well (something I never got the hang of, kudos to you). Looking forward to the next ep and the rest of the series.
Most new Valheim playthroughs I've seen are 4 hour long un-edited videos, so It's really refreshing to see some putting in the effort to make a high quality, entertaining and well-edited playthrough! Really glad I found this so early in the series, keep up the great work! A little tip: If you don't need them, you can disable the button hints that show when holding a tool in the bottom right corner in the gameplay tab in your settings.
I never was a fan of the walkthrough style or the super fast progression videos where everything is done in episode 1 so I’m trying to find a good balance with this game. Thanks for watching!
It certainly is more enjoyable to watch a well-edited but slowly progressing series than the “Perfect start in hardcore minecraft” format where they beat the game and build a mega base in ep 1 :p
1. My fave weapon against Eikthyr is fire arrows. 2. Did Eikthyr knock down any birch trees? If so, do the log rolling thing for some early fine wood. 3. I really like the five standing stones to use as a base structure. They are indestructible, so I build platforms up high.
Thanks for the tips! Building on those stones is a really neat idea. Once I’ve got better gear and start building a bit more, I might use that for a build
I’m curious what’s the farthest you’ve gotten in the game? I’ve only played up till the swamp but I’ve done it on multiple servers with different groups of friends. I’m excited to see your world progress.
@@jaceanderson4294 The farthest I’ve gotten was beating the Mistlands with some friends. I haven’t seen anything about the Ashlands yet so I’m really looking forward to doing that in this series.
my very first playthrough me and my friend built next to eikthyr. He destroyed our house completely. It was a blast
Only 2 episodes but I can tell this is going to be a good series. Can't wait!

Oh that makes a lot of sense. Thanks, that’s really good to know
It also makes that sound when you cook and make an extra item
dark is so dark.. torch pls 😊
"I don't know when I'm going to use 20 coal, but I've got it."
You're not going to believe this....

Thank you thank you! That is the exact vibe I’m going for

I'm confused; there's HP bars; lighting effects and screams. I guess in Valheim you don't find them stupid enough? :-P
Loving this series...
12:04 Hugin wants a word.
Severely Epic: Aaaaaaaa... so many!!!
Hugin: Whatever. Im out.

I keep seeing those exact videos! UA-cam doesn’t seem to understand that I don’t want to watch them
Love the vid you should make roads leading to the head stones
Thank you! I love me a good forest trail so I definitely will be building some roads all around my home pretty soon

@theseverelyepic After gathering a LOT of iron, you can build a circular platform of stone floors held by wood-iron beams and iron grate floors.
Great video, can't wait for the whole series. Keep it up, you got my sub and like. Cheers!
