+Genna Bain Oh, dunno if you guys looked this up after, but several of those Irish treats were actually not from Northern Ireland. The Meanies, made in Meath, are 100% Republic.
+Genna Bain And the pronunciation of Ashbourne and Meath were hilariously bad. Both are here in the Republic of Ireland (Curse you universal yums! *shakes fist*)
+peacan696969 This is what people who aren't British or haven't been around enough British folk think we like. It'd be like getting a box of American stuff that comprises of nothing but cheese in a can and Reeses Pieces, with it's vomit flavoured "chocolate".
i'm British (living in australia)..., the fact that the irony of a British person complaining about British things is lost on you probably means you aren't very aware of the global stereotype of British people.
+CryptykNumidium absolutely no chance. The UK is probably the US' largest European trading partner, all the channels for shipping are incredibly cheap for us in the UK. It seems more they went to someone in NI to source their stuff.
Blackspur Which is a mistake. having been to everywhere in the UK, Northern Ireland is the most different product wise. Scotland, England and Wales are pretty much identical, but northern Ireland tends to have different brands or the same thing under a different label. not really representative of the UK as a whole.
I can't watch these anymore... They just make me wish you were still here. They make me wonder how things could have turned out differently. You were the voice of us back then. Now it's all just... quiet... A lonely, sad quiet.
Look at the cat. It's fat. It's stupid. Look back at me. I'm fat and stupid. Look to the cat. Now look at me. Look to the cat. Look back to me. Now look to the cat. Now look at your shoes. They're jammie dodgers.
+Lathland Never had them but I can see how they could be good. Growing up I often made myself a snack in the afternoon by frying up some thinly sliced potatoes and then putting them in between two slices of bread with ketchup. Good snack so potato crisps and ketchup flavor makes sense to me.
+Metalkatt Cadbury is horrific now the fucking Americans bought it out. They changed the texture, ingredients and structure. It's now just a load of sweet melty shite.
Considering that most chocolate in the US has a disproportionately high amount of paraffin wax as a constituent, I can't be surprised. It's cheaper, so that justifies all things, yanno. *frowns at the companies*
This showed up on my recommended videos. I was just thinking of TB when looking at recent vidya news and realizing that I really do miss his commentary. Hope you're resting well, TB. You're still missed.
this reminds me of my experience with cancer. I lost a loved one but we had this time when we all knew things could and probably would go bad. But live... live now live... be who you are and love what you love spend time with your love. Hope for the best and be as happy as you can. keep us updated please I would miss him if I out live him.
Y'know what are some great crisps, at least in my opinion? Brannigans Roast Beef & Mustard. Holy moly, the mustard in those destroys my nostrils with how powerful the mustard is. Proper good flavour. And Chewits do exist still, fortunately. Got a pack of tropical flavour ones, and whilst I normally hate chewy sweets, the tropical ones are lush. In the end, I think the one sweet that truly captivates my childhood would be herbal tablet sweets. My grandfather would always give them to me when he picked me up from school and they were rather good at soothing my throat and clearing my nose a bit. The taste was okay, too.
Ah, Tayto. Delicious crisps. Also the only crisps that I've managed to find while in Northern Irish airports. Belfast City airport has a long Tayto-branded bus shelter, with four Tayto vending machines. We don't have much to be proud of, but we have our crisps.
I'm origionally fom the UK but i moved to sweden when I was 5 and only tend to visit every other year so seeing things like jammy's being appreciated by a real britt warms my heart
The cake vs biscuit rule is still in place, only McVities won the case - cake is actually considered an essential (and is zero rated) while chocolate covered biscuits are a luxury and are taxed at standard rates :-) only non chocolate covered biscuits are zero rated. McVities argued that Jaffa Cakes were cakes not chocolate covered biscuits by baking a giant Jaffa cake and leaving it in the corner of the courtroom to go hard while the case progressed - as cake would, not biscuits which go soft. VAT cases are crazy ^_^
+Deathbrewer he got it a bit mixed up, not backwards exactly. Cakes and ordinary biscuits (not chocolate covered, so for example a Digestive or a Rich Tea biscuit) are essentials. Chocolate covered biscuits (like a chocolate covered HobNob) are considered luxuries. There was the dispute about Jaffa Cakes because they're chocolate covered - so it mattered whether or not they were a cake or a biscuit. If they're a biscuit, the company has to charge standard VAT on them because they're a luxury (so they'd probably have to bump up the price of the product to keep their profit the same), while if they're a cake they're a luxury and the company doesn't have to charge any VAT on them.
Oh, for an edit button - that last sentence should've said cakes were essentials, not luxuries - which I find self evident anyway ^_^ serves me right answering at 5am >_
That used to be the case for me as well, but then Jesse used it as a part of his love confession to Felicia Day. Now that moment just pops into my head whenever i hear "Turkish delight"
Crisps are light and take up a lot of space. Meaning they save money on shipping. From a business perspective, it makes sense that most of the stuff will be crisps and similar stuff in packages that are over 50% air.
I may be 5 years late to this particular party, but can confirm: Ketchup Flavour Crisps are the Savoury Snackfood of the Gods, but sadly very hard to come by.

As someone who lives relatively (Border of County Antrim, not Armagh) close to "the" Tayto factory. It is from Northern Ireland. Also the tayto tour is an excellent way to get a F tonne of free crisps :D. County Meath, for the record Is in the Republic of Ireland

TB has tasted the UK food before, so this would be like me reviewing Ikea food. Still, 15/10 papa bless
+wowcrendor Do it. Review the Ikea food. papa bless.
+wowcrendor Can you do a video on that pls?
How much h3h3 have you been indulging in, sir?
+wowcrendor Ikea food? There is no Ikea in my area. Do they have chocolate couches?
+wowcrendor will you fuck off with your memes
I mis this man so much. The critiques, the rants, the sarcasm, the genius mind. You are sorely missed. Thanks for everything.
800 years of oppression became 801 with this video. RIP Tayto...
+Genna Bain pour one out for the Tayto. Preferably a Guiness.
+Genna Bain It's ok Genna, it wasn't your fault, it was that gosh darned Brit!
+Genna Bain Oh, dunno if you guys looked this up after, but several of those Irish treats were actually not from Northern Ireland. The Meanies, made in Meath, are 100% Republic.

+Genna Bain By any chance are we getting 4 in a row? :p Turkey seems to be next
You will be missed deeply TB. I'm so sad that I'll never see a new WTF is...
And hear you scrutinize a games options menu
See you next time
I will be waiting for his WTF is heaven video...
He was taken way to early, Rest easy John, I will miss you
Angry british man!
Very good. Very good.
That is a great TL;DW indeed :)
Not angry, cynical
Totalbiscuit, I will always listen to your content even after your passing.
im tearing up right now while i laugh and smile.
We all miss you, John. Rest well and live forever in our hearts.
This showed up randomly again in my suggested feed today, TB we love you rest easily.
A British man complaining about every part of a British food box aimed at foreign countries, this is as British as it gets.
+peacan696969 Well, nobody likes their country being misrepresented. That was not a good selection to represent the UK.
+FEBAGames Yeah this was shit.
+peacan696969 This is what people who aren't British or haven't been around enough British folk think we like. It'd be like getting a box of American stuff that comprises of nothing but cheese in a can and Reeses Pieces, with it's vomit flavoured "chocolate".
i'm British (living in australia)..., the fact that the irony of a British person complaining about British things is lost on you probably means you aren't very aware of the global stereotype of British people.
peacan696969 Really? I never knew that was a stereotype.
Just re-watching this after the 24th. RIP mate, may wherever you are now have food you actually WANT to eat lol
1IbramGaunt He'll always hate it, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Anyone else just re watching TB videos while still grieving ? :'( RIP
...this is no way a good example of 'uk' snacks
+Big alzo 90% of the stuff is great. its just the wrong flavour mostly.
Half of it was Irish stuff for some reason.
Blackspur maybe its easier to ship from Ireland to America than Britain to America.
+CryptykNumidium absolutely no chance. The UK is probably the US' largest European trading partner, all the channels for shipping are incredibly cheap for us in the UK. It seems more they went to someone in NI to source their stuff.

Now it's all just... quiet... A lonely, sad quiet.
I just love the amount of enthusiasm TB had here. It's so great seeing those reactions.
I always come back to this video from time to time... thank you for everything
RIP
And they sent Jacobs Jaffa cakes not Mcvities ?! Sacrilege
+LouisKing995 mcvities own the jacobs brand and are the same recipe, they are used as mcvities export brand. most of that box was sourced from ireland
+LouisKing995 They are the same. like. its the same recipe.
+Andy Coffin Ireland? *shudders*
+Anaverageguy41 ur feckin rit
doesnt feel right
Look at the cat. It's fat. It's stupid.
Look back at me. I'm fat and stupid.
Look to the cat.
Now look at me.
Look to the cat.
Look back to me.
Now look to the cat.
Now look at your shoes. They're jammie dodgers.
+Vensey Ness
To be frank, I just can't old spice good.
It's just two options, and you know what they say. Variety is the SPICE of life.
Prove TB is a Cat
+Vensey Ness You almost had me....nice try CAT
+Vensey Ness
*Cat Spice*
I'm on a horse.
I'm surely not the only one who came back to remember the good times.
Coming back and watching this right now....It's bittersweet to see this lad enjoying some of his childhood treats
Thank you! Another human other than me who loves tomato ketchup flavour crisps
+Lathland Hi Lathrix! love your content! :D
+Lathland Oh we have a super seasoned version in Canada. Yum!
+Lathland We have them in Canada, they are the best thing ever.
+Lathland About the only flavoured chips we dont have in Norway :( It saddens me.
+Lathland Never had them but I can see how they could be good. Growing up I often made myself a snack in the afternoon by frying up some thinly sliced potatoes and then putting them in between two slices of bread with ketchup. Good snack so potato crisps and ketchup flavor makes sense to me.
I'm really gonna miss these
rest in peace you beautiful creacture
Why do I get the feeling he was hoping from a box straight from the Cadbury factory?
+Metalkatt Cadbury is horrific now the fucking Americans bought it out. They changed the texture, ingredients and structure. It's now just a load of sweet melty shite.
America ruined cardbury's is right
+Codeale *cadbury's
+Metalkatt Yeah it doesn't taste as good as it used to. Not sure if they did anything but it doesn't taste as chocolate-y these days.
Im re-watching all of these... ill miss him! ; - ;
TB is so excited, making sounds with his mouth, talking over you, throwing crisps at the cat...absolutely priceless.
Am from Birmingham UK, never heard of Tayto.
They are bliss
it's an Irish brand, they got that wrong
+Ben Kolya born and raised wales, moved to england after uni, also never seen them.
+Loop Stricken Its an Irish thing. Was kinda nice to see Genna talking about Tayto sandwiches, reminds me of my childhood xD
+Loop Stricken From Northern Ireland, they are effectively the best thing ever.
Going back and watching so many of these. Thx for shooting these videos
The Cat.
'Throw a crisp at it.'
TB throws the full bag. Lmfao
RIP to my fellow Brit, so much talent gone far too early.
this reminds me of my experience with cancer. I lost a loved one but we had this time when we all knew things could and probably would go bad. But live... live now live... be who you are and love what you love spend time with your love. Hope for the best and be as happy as you can. keep us updated please I would miss him if I out live him.
Lmfao, the look of utter confusion on TB's face as he opened up the box. That was priceless. It's like his dreams were all crushed in an instant.
TB talking about tuck shops took me way back. I used to love those things so much.
Protestant Tayto, not the real deal.
+John Lennon Meanies were in the box too, and those are Irish.
+Relewyn NI Tayto and ROI Meanies XD
+John Lennon Fucking brilliant. xD
OOHH A UPA 'RA XD
+John Lennon The orange packaging was a give-away.
NO SURRENDER!

+blobbem Brannigans are amazing! The intensity of flavour!
***** You can say that again. When I first tried the Roast Beef & Mustard ones, my nostrils were burning! Completely worth it.
And they're so satisfyingly thick and crunchy too. Brannigan's, please give us money. We will advertise for you.
***** I'd gladly throw away my integrity to advertise for Brannigans. GLADLY!
+blobbem +JoeNeutrino YOU GODDAMN SKELTANS!!!
It was a Wham! bar, TB. Not an Astro, but 100000% correct about it being a Drumstick but awesome. :D :D
YAY, wham's are now on my shopping list
Its so good to come back and watch this again. Miss him.
Genna you feeling ok? This is too much content.
+YarharALC I can see cleavage, that's content to me!
+Darth Panzer It's non-content though, so it's okay.
+Lordsebastian101 -_-
What does that have to do with anything?
+Darth Panzer It does make me content
+PV958 I see what you did there :P
Ah, Tayto. Delicious crisps. Also the only crisps that I've managed to find while in Northern Irish airports. Belfast City airport has a long Tayto-branded bus shelter, with four Tayto vending machines.
We don't have much to be proud of, but we have our crisps.
+CONFLICTNERD Dylan And anything made of milk. When I was at uni in England I really missed good yoghurt, ice cream and cheese
I get the feeling this was the Ireland box and the company messed up.
I'm origionally fom the UK but i moved to sweden when I was 5 and only tend to visit every other year so seeing things like jammy's being appreciated by a real britt warms my heart

This has by far been my favorite episode. It's really interesting hearing some backstories on the food from TB.
I love you guys.
I really enjoy the way you interact with each other. So good to see you having a nice time :D
Dammit, I miss him already.
Rest in Peace John, and stay strong Genna.
Every time I hear the words Turkish delight I think of Edmund in Narnia.
UA-cam, why you doing this to me. Miss you TB
i miss tb. Been watching some videos of his lately just to hear his voice, reviewing games as only he could.
"TB literally eats Dodger live on video" -> Thousands of views
I can't believe I'm back here watching this.
The apple juice is on the same side as the last video, the illusion is destroyed!
No there is slightly less cleavage it was clearly a different day
with how Game industry becomes so malevolent nowdays, i felt like the world needed him more than ever now ... i miss him.
Rest in peace, Totalbiscuit
I feel like, all these TB tastes videos have been building up to THIS VIDEO! *THIS IS IT*
the first minute is why I love TB
I like how tb just haphazardly tosses the opened snacks over his shoulder or to the side when he's had enough
Rest in peace TB
I may be 5 years late to this particular party, but can confirm: Ketchup Flavour Crisps are the Savoury Snackfood of the Gods, but sadly very hard to come by.
Wish they came to the US at some point just so I can try them.
Miss you TB.
I'd watch all the videos of the kitties! They're so adorable!
the jaffa cake case was, chocolate cake is a necessity, chocolate biscuits are a luxury.
didn't they have to bake a cake size Jaffa too?
anyarikku if jaffa cakes are cakes then they aren't classed as a luxury, they had and did prove they were cakes not biscuits because of how they go stale. there is a more recent case with pringles, they are made from potato flour and not slices of potato so they also get charged less tax
+anyarikku I know myvirginkitchen made a really big one
+anyarikku Yeah, they baked a large version to prove it was a cake, not a biscuit. The tax they were trying to avoid was on chocolate covered biscuits. They won, and avoided the tax, by proving they were cakes.
+Paul Dennett www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/vfoodmanual/vfood6260.htm
Tayto are sold in massive amounts in Northern Ireland which is a part of the UK, and they are available to a lesser extent in the mainland UK. Although I agree that an English native wouldn't consider them to be a snack of home!
I never realised until now that TB was from the north east until I heard you both talking about Washigton and Newcastle in this video. I'm from the north east too and would never have guessed tb was from the north east judging by his accent. At what age did he leave the area? I'm guessing quite a while ago, as that is really not a very strong local accent
Google search "blueplz episode 1" and listen to his accent from years ago, he sounds like a right geordie
Thanks, I will do
I remember first having 'Cypriot Delight' in the Greek side of Cyprus at a traditional factory, was so nice.
20 seconds in and I'm actually laughing.
none of that "lol" shit
genuine laughter. must be an english thing
ass has an "r" in it
try it with me guys
"arse"
isn't it so much better?
arse arse arse arse.
+Andy Liddiard and it doesn't get censored in game chats.
I been waiting for this video almost forever. we see tb go back to his younger ages.
I've never heard of Taytos or Meanies. I'm disappointed they didn't send my country's speciality, Tunnock's Tea Cakes....or anything Tunnock's.
Tayto has been distributed in England for about 5 years.I used to have them all the time when living in Limerick.
Potatoes reminded me of Keith lemon the way TB said it lol
TB was one year older than me, and I can confirm all his comments on this British food is 100% correct lol. RIP.
R.I.P John
TotalBiscuit, you sir a very funny and very knowledgeable! I hope you are able to maintain that humor as much as possible.
Jaffa cakes are not covered by the luxury tax, nor are helicopters. Tampons are however
The cat hands TB does when he tries the pickled onion trips just made my day.
An american box would consist of a cheesburger and fries and a can of pepsi.
+homeycdawg
It would just be a happy meal.
+homeycdawg Now unless something changed he's in North Carolina. So American snacks aren't something he would need to do on vid.
I just love all of TB's mini rants about everything. Salt is definitely real, but he's so overly honest that I can't blame him for anything.
Tayto are Northern Irish, hence a part of the UK. And Genna is right, tayto sandwiches are the best thing ever.
Typed this comment before they eventually realised it was Northern Ireland aha oops.
+berdonburns Crisp sandwiches are great fullstop, what makes Tayto's especially good in a sandwich?
+Keyboard Warrior Wrong. www.tayto.com/about-us.html
+Keyboard Warrior "They are two seperate companies" EXACTLY. And the one that made the crisps in this video is the Northern Irish company.
Tayto is made 5 miles from my house (in Northern Ireland), and I think they're sold in England now too. County Meath however is not in the UK
I hope TB is doing well in chemo, I noticed the alopecia. Best wishes to you both.
If you want awesome British crisps (chips for heathens) then one of my favourite brands is McCoy. They're usually found in pubs and I believe they were even the official sponsor of darts a few years ago.
NO TWIGLETS!
well i can certainly tell you that is not my version of England.
god i think you need a PO box so we can send you real stuff.
Thanks for reminding me of Shaun of the dead lol
+Searlefm They used to have a PO box, and there was a "Totalbiscuit opens the mail from fans" series for a while, but people kept sending them tons of junk mail and stuff
Twiglets are an abomination. They're Marmite on a stick and are disgusting.
Adam Stringer and you are wrong in every way as they are delicious
Searlefm The Marmite Effect, I suppose.
in the series of if its sold in UK, its from UK. Same like many people send youtubers food from "their" country its usually consists few items that are from their neighbouring countries and are popular products.
How are mole asses a replacement for treacle. And what do they do with the rest of the moles?
I hope he feels better Genna. This is just another comment in the sea but yeah, read about his diagnosis. And who knows, just some days ago they found a interesting treatment against aggressive tumours.. Cheers.
The cat's secretly from Northern Ireland
As someone from Washington, I'd like to point out it isn't now called Concord. Concord is a village within Washington.
As a UK citizen i am appalled at this selection, for shame Universal Yums, for shame!
Kudos to you Genna for loving some of the Irish foodstuffs, nice to see its appreciated in the states. :)
So this is basically just 20 minutes of a guy eating food from his native country? ...Yep, it's official, I have no life. *watches whole thing*
All my best hopes and wishes to you and T.B.!!! Good Luck and do what you feel is best for you and your family.
Rest Easy TB
As someone who lives relatively (Border of County Antrim, not Armagh) close to "the" Tayto factory. It is from Northern Ireland.
Also the tayto tour is an excellent way to get a F tonne of free crisps :D.
County Meath, for the record Is in the Republic of Ireland
Am from Bristol and never heard of "Tayto". Are they more popular up north?
Scotland's up there mate check west.
+Squiggle Wiggle Stafforrdshire and I have never heard of them and I consider myself an enthusiast of crisps, I have tried every brand I have ever seen in a corner shop, tescos and the co-op.
+Squiggle Wiggle Yorkshire, only heard of them from an Irish UA-camr
+Squiggle Wiggle I am from Newcastle and I have never heard of them.
Nah mate From Newcastle never heard of them, must be an Irish thing
Thanks for the recommendations on good crisps to try from the UK. Seabrook and BBQ Beef Hula Hoops are on Amazon so I'll enjoy trying those out.
+SirJamesDTech yeah! I'm from Germany but currently studying in the UK so I'll try to find some of this stuff ;)
***** If you like bacon, Frazzles are supposedly amazing
+TreeroyJ Nice n Spicy Niknaks are great. The rib ones are terrible, and the scampi ones aren't too bad (nowhere near Nice n Spicy, though). Beef flavour crisps are probably my favourites, though. And Frazzles I can just devour without even noticing they've all gone - and the tend to come in giant packets.
+SirJamesDTech The pickled onion Monster Munch are good too. Try salt and vinegar Discos for a really strong S&V flavour.
+TreeroyJ So I went to LIDL. Somehow I expected them to not have this brands haha but then I went into a small off license store and found:
McVities Jaffa's - Wow, way superior to the ones I knew before
Nik Naks - orange
Hula Hoops - BBQ
and Skips
Haven't eaten any of the crisps yet tho
RIP TB
Miss your videos. Gone FAR to young. RIP TB
looks like TB just skinned a bear and just put it on.
A lot of the things he mentioned we have have in Malta; Walker's, Skips, Fry's Turkish Delight, Chewits, Ribena, Jaffa Cakes, Treacle Toffee
I suspect Malta and the UK have similar snacks
+adrianfa1265 The UK and Malta have had very close ties, so I would guess so
+David Cox Ye that true we even have the same 3-pin power socket
you talking shit about my Tayto!?
... i miss TB so much.. I hope Genna is doing okay atleast
Sometimes Contradictory Blue Bear I doubt it.
Rest in peace my dude
Hahahaha, such a fun video 😊
