You are one of my inspirations man I'm 14 from the US made a shitty studio with a $50 audio interface, a karaoke microphone I stole from my sisters, a school laptop, cheap $1 headphones and a $130 guitar I released a few things on a separate UA-cam channel. You're a pretty funny guy and always cheer me up thanks!
Good video, The only thing that I would like to add is that 4 GB of RAM is not enough anymore. Windows alone takes up 3.5 GB. If you take this seriously please get something with bare minimum 8 GB. Also I noticed you didn't go to deep into Guitar VST Plugins. I want to recommend ML Sound Amped Roots and Stevie T Plugins. There is a full free version of both of these plugins and they sound pretty good to me - roundabout similar to the Revv Sim and the 5150 Sim in my HX Stomp. Keep the good stuff coming, always enjoying your content \m/
The Stevie T plugin is seriously fantastic. I got some really cool sounds from it the other day. Of course, now I can't remember which settings I used, but...
I love your straight to the point no bullshit attitude Sablast, was considering getting that Focusrite bundle to make some more TurboFolk, maybe some black metal side projects, and now im certain i will get it!
over the years of being a hobby musician, i found that i always look for ways of rigging something myself so i can save the precious money for the things i cant make myself. Also, you can get a full $500 DAW for free. After Gibson bought cakewalk/sonar and did nothing, they sold it to ?creative labs? who now give it away for free. It does everything and would save the cost of reaper (which is an awesome daw and super fast low latency) and free extra money for something else.
You prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Harlem Joey I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I recorded my only two BM songs so far on a phone :D was inspired by Sablast video where he told how to record on a phone, as a drums I used drum samples of single drums and DAW was LMMS (it is cool! But no recording function) it turned out pretty decent on my opinion but according to only one dislike on youtube what i made is shit :)))
@@BlackOrc1988 I'm using the Behringer UMC22 with the Tracktion Waveform DAW. Instrumentals (so far) as I haven't worked out how to put my vocal attempts recorded on my crappy phone into the mix. ;-)
I started of with a 4track a guitar and beating on whatever for drums in 2004. It took me till 2 years ago to have a proper audio interface. Up till then it was a mixer directly into the audio input jack LoL.... I’ve come a long way and still suck LoL
Fun Fact: I sold my Ibanez ibanez rgrt421 so i can buy a Harley Benton SC Custom II. In my opinion the Harley Benton is way better than the Ibanez and it cost half the price . Remember any 250 euro to 350 euros guitars from Harley Benton feel like 500 - 600 guitars from other brands. I am now regretting of buying an sr805 and a btb675 instead of going for a less expensive brand.
Good summary but I disagree with Focusrite > Behringer. I switched from Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 for a Behringer UMC204HD - same excellent quality and it's less noisy than the Pro 14 was, Focusrite is good brand but a bit overrated. It's also worth to mention Bandlab's Cakewalk as a free DAW option. For making any underground metal project I'm with Ugritone for a while. For a budget price they offer stand-out quality products ex. KVLT Drums II is the best drum VST on the market.
I didn't mean the audio interface sucks. But the bundle. Their bundle headphones are the flatest ever according to the reviews. I cannot judge it that much based only on internet test. As you can see I am not using focusrite anymore myself. But being a famous brand - i think 200$ is not that much for their bundle. Agreed for ugitone!
If I had found your channel last year, I would have purchased a Focusrite. I bought a PreSonus, and I still can't get its hang. I had Reaper already, but I can't make it work with the PreSonus.
Lmao i recorded my first album with FL studio mobile and a guitar with a small cheap amp. Turned out well tbfh. I wont buy any better equipment im pretty fine with what I got , if u want check my last song
You need far less even than this, newbies should be happy to know! I used roughly the same setup as presented here for about 10 years, to make lots of albums of legit quality (granted, I could be deluded about that, but I have had some minor victories like radio play and a major festival appearance to suggest that my music wasn’t bad). But crucially, that was in different genres to black metal. The bar for black metal is even lower imho. I have only gotten into metal over the past year or so (so maybe I’m ignorant?) but some of the stuff I like the best is the really lo-fi one-man diy style black metal (I’m thinking Burzum or Pale Swordsman). If that is the type of thing you want to make, there is zero reason why you can’t just do it all on your phone in GarageBand. Seriously, if anything GarageBand is overkill for that type of thing! You literally would only need to buy an iRig (approx £40) to serve as interface between guitar and phone. And your headphones should be of good quality. That’s it. Record your vocals direct into the iPhone’s mic. Use the amp sims in GB. The rest is about learning basic skills and techniques for recording, arranging, mixing, workflow, the UI. That will come over time and can only truly be learned by doing, so get started now, there’s no barrier to entry! Seriously, if you’re already an iPhone user you basically have a convenient, portable recording studio in your pocket. If you’re wondering where my black metal masterpiece is to prove it, that project is having to wait until my small children no longer demand 100% of my waking hours!
here is 10-20% of the price than on thomann. So if i buy something cheaper i don't bother with ordering. But art of mail is slowly starting to shine in my lil studio. Do the same if you are on a budget :)
Don't buy the plastic jack adaptor it's shit. Plastic adaptor cost less than 1€ and it's bad and has short life. Buy a golden jack adaptor it cost 4-6€ it is mutch better and you will have it for life.
Your videos have inspired me to start writing and recording some really, really, really raw black metal. The world will not thank you. ;-)
i'm glad i helped! keep it on!

I use to hang my mic from the ceiling 🤘🤘🤘
Also me.....
We still do that with drum overhead when recording rehearsal tapes. Small room, so boom stands would just get in the way.

Actually wanted to own one, and i still do. But it is kinda getting in old techology. Better to invest in something else these days
