Eye surgery can be life changing-I had what doctors called rapidly forming cataracts which went from nonexistent to level 3 and 4 in 14 months (4 is the maximum measure); long story short, I was 54 years old at the time (56 now) and as I am currently, I teach high school English and do electrical work during summer months-so I need my vision. My interocular lenses were both replaced and my vision was completely restored. I was shocked at how bright the sun, moon and stars really are-what a blessing! Cheers!
So very pleased your eye surgery is successful. My late mother had a detached retina in her late eighties and it turned out great. My wife had two ops for cataracts recently and can see to read without glasses. Please continue to take care and not push yourself even when you feel good. We need you to be our guide to the caring restoration of interesting old machinery. Rob Hollick. South Africa 41:18
The eye surgery update was just magical to hear. “The blue skies” got me. I like how he wouldn’t go to Brisbane. A man has to know his limitations - Clint Eastwood. Oh.. by the way. The frog wasn’t hurt. Classic side bit. thank you Bruce. A man talking about losing his vision and he tells this nugget. I don’t think it’s coincidental that he got his vision cured. We can all use some vision improvements.
Glad to hear your vision is back. I live in the states and have had my share of eye problems too. In one eye I had a torn retina twice and something called a macular hole. To top that off I'm blind in my other eye. needless to say, through modern medicine, I have been able to keep good vision in my only eye. I too had to lay head down for 4 weeks after the macular hole was repaired. When I was about 30 years younger, I had a congenital cataract removed in that same eye. I'm about 67 years old, have good eyesight, have my own auto repair shop, drive and carry on a normal life. Thankful to God for His care and good doctors!
You are such an amazing man. I am so happy the eye people were able to help you in the same way you could fix their whatever. Your talent, to me, is the same as theirs. You are a brilliant man.
Well done Bruce, nice to see you back on your feet. Exceptionally well done the camera man. Firstly for the work on the camera, secondly for doing lots of other things and thirdly, most importantly, for keeping Bruce on the leash to prevent him getting himself into trouble.
Good to see you back Bruce hope the operation went well - marvellous what they can do now - had a detached retina around 3 years ago now exactly the same symptoms as you and same operation - I ended up with the gas and a scelra buckle - all good now still a bit of a sparkle around headlights and what not but not to bad - all the best mate - cheers mate Mark
That's quite impressive how you were able to have your eye fixed. I guess before we had modern technology people would have just went blind. I'm glad to hear that you were able to get fixed right up.
It's great to hear that your eye surgery was a success. Just take it steady and don't rush back into anything too heavy too quick. We're all guilty of it. Take it steady my friend and I and I'm sure many others will sit and wait patiently for you to be better by moving on to more exciting things
I'm really glad you're on the mend, having had a stroke that damaged my vision and made me blind for a month or so till my brain figured out a work around I can really understand what you've gone through.
Bruce, thanks for the up on the eye surgery and the encouragement to deal with issues promptly. Blokes think they are bulletproof, but the reality is we aren't. It's great to see you back on the tools, but take it easy. John
This is what makes your channel special Bruce . Just like the other blokes we watch , Its the personal touch you and the others add . It was something to see the patience involved in getting the valve from that cylinder . And the explanation about the feeler gauge and the seal is really good info . Dont do anything too strenuous for a bit . Good to see you and Jax about again . Scott 🌵
Great to hear you have recovered so well from the detached retina drama. I had cataract surgery on both eyes, and as you say, everything's much brighter and clearer. We're lucky to have this sight saving technology available to us.
Hi Bruce, Nice to see you back all you was saying about your eye is about the same as I had I could not see number plates right my eyes were all blurry , Like you say if you have this problem go and get I done best days work I had done. 🛠️🛠️🛠️⭐️⭐️👍👌 Take care of yourself and stay safe.
Amazing video Bruce, respect for wrenching on this big heavy equipment. You have a lot of knowledge and craftmanship. And what a story about your eye, that is good healthcare.
Good advice Bruce, got to look after your eyes, we are blessed with eye surgeons that can pull off these nip, tuck and adjustment with scientific advancements in our modern times.
Great to hear your eye surgeries have been successful and that you apply your wisdom to yourself as well as your work. Looking forward to whatever you choose to put on UA-cam.
I woke up one morning with a red eye, I was a little alarmed but it went away after a couple of days So thanks for that Bruce I will have to remember what you have just said about your eye ball I came to watch you fix an old truck and got medical advice instead 👍👍👍👍
Hi Bruce love your channel. Love your knowledge, skills and experience. Listen, I've had 3 cornea transplants in my life. I'm 73. One thing I learned many years ago optometrists are eye glass people. Never listen to them when you have blood, loss of vision, pain etc. Go immediately to an eye specialist. Ur lucky you didn't lose your eye. I've had numerous friends who suffered from torn retinas. Glad you are ok. I feel for you. Keep those surgeons you met and never use that eye glass dr again. From this point on you need the specialists even if it's for a regular check up. Greeting from las vegas sir
Amazing Bruce, thanks for the super tips about getting the bolts off and Wd40 nozzle. You've got a real nack on story telling. All the best on the cataract op.
We do live in the lucky country. I had a torn retina some years ago, so I have some idea of your concerns and the thankfulness you feel once it is fixed. Our doctors are wonderful. Clever, skilful and they know the urgency of the situation. Good luck to you Bruce. Regards, Peter H (in Sydney)
Hope you have recovered from your eye surgery! So glad to see you wrenching on Wally again!

I am very glad things are going well, Bruce. As far as that wise cameraman, I think we all appreciate him having your best interests at heart.
Looks like the cameraman needs a raise, with all the extra effort he put in! 😅
If it's still the same camera man. It is his son. Just in case you didn't know. 😉
"" Cameraman , "" what you want me to work??? you said for me to operate the camera ""??? very good of him. hahahahahaha
