I do dislike that these older skits don't have the actors' names in their description. Madeline Kahn was the best. "Oh I would have come sooner but you see I didn't want to"
In case you hadn't found out by now...The actors who played Lucien and Fagan are Mark McKinney & David Koechner, respectively. And I DO agree...Madeline Kahn was indeed an absolute multi-faceted treasure to watch in whatever role she played! Beautiful & talented. I miss her dearly.
@@SkatKat Your sincere gratitude towards my humble assistance to your year-long frustration with the lack of the revelation of the character's true identities...Is as a wisp of gentle butterflies across my face, and will endure upon my soul for eternity. (Err-uugh-ahh-eehh-errr-Oooh-errr?)
I ran a small town gift and clothing shop for over 15 years. Returns explanations could be quite bullying 😆90 days?? They would bring me clothing that had banged around their backseats for 6 months!
What's really funny for me is that I grew up in New Mexico. My grandparents grew up in New Mexico. They had classic Navajo art, looking almost exactly like what was depicted and my grandmother had an antique lamp similar to the one being returned. (along with the local Navajo and native Pueblo art)
"But we are chained like slaves to our tyrannical store policy! Urrhhh....." "Can't!..... Ninety days! Urrhh....." I am going to use these lines if I ever again work in retail.
"I shall never make policy again." "Lucien, you just did." "Oh, the irony." But really, Madeleine Kahn made this skit. How great she was, and what a loss.
Lucien and Fagan are that special kind of cringe that practically shrivels a gal's ovaries. My husband used to tease me by doing their bit to creep me out and then try to kiss me.( EWW) It's so nice to see the incredibly talented Madeline Kahn here! Only a year or so ago I ran into her very tastefully done risque song "You'd be surprised!" and several other's. I found it while searching for Bernadette Peters hilarious song " The Art Of Making Love Alone". On UA-cam. I'm going to try making a playlist , especially if I can ever find Gilda Radner's parody punk rock songs from SNL.
I wonder if Mark McKinney actually had to audition to become a cast member on SNL, seeing as he came from KIDS IN THE HALL, a show 100 times funnier and better in every way. This sketch had SUCH potential, and the writers just let all the actors down.
Madeline Kahn, a consummate professional that (unlike some) Christopher Walken) ) actually MEMORIZES her lines instead of staring off camera at cue cards!
It's insane how time works like that,I'm old enough to remember this sketch when it aired live! As a middle school kid (in the early 1990s) I was told by a teacher that he knew that he was "getting old" when he asked his class what they were doing and where they were during the Kennedy assassination. When he got black faces and no responses, he was officially "old." Now I'm meeting adults who are too young to remember 9/11. It's insane. I'm also old enough to remember the early South Park episodes that were extreme parody and absurd that now are "real life"
I've been a Madelyn Kahn fan since I was a tiny kid & saw her on Sesame Street. She was gorgeous, sharp, and I'm only now realizing her influence on me as a strong, loud woman!
I like to come home, get bare-ase naked, watch this stuff. It caught on like wildfire, first the entire government went Fop; they would hold Fop parties, doing Fop dancing to music such as Prokofiev's "Classical Symphony"; soon a FOP Party surmounted the GOP in popularity- Lucien and Fagan constituted a President/VP candidacy. The committee for their election sloganed, "Hold the Monarchism; Hold the Aristocracy- but bring in the Fops!"
Never seen this sketch before. Funny. Loved how over the top they were in their responses. Great acting. 😂
Their groveling still cracks me up, especially David Koechner's moaning and grunting. 😂
I just love Lucien and Fagan! Boys you are THE BEST!!
They are most Fabulous and Excellent!!
THANK you eughherereruuuhh

@@bosetech9661 That is very kind of you, thank you! Got to watch this gem again.

She was incredible. Great sense of humor and timing.

*"TOUCHDOWNS*
(the harpsichord door chime is a great gag too!)

This skit was funny as shit it’s set to old English mannerisms and most people just don’t understand the humor.
One of the funniest skits ever! They should have done more shop skits
Great skit! Impossible to love it enough!
God I love a sketch with a beginning a middle and an end.
This must be a sketch idea from Mark. It feels like it belongs on Kids in the Hall.
Oh my, yes.
Mark Mckinney! Love him 😂
So thankful for UA-cam. This skit has been lost to me since it’s airdate!
"But we are chained like slaves to our tyrannical store policy! Urrhhh....."

😂😂😂
The inimitable Madeline Kahn.
Very underrated skit.
David Koechner is funny as shit! As usual. 😂🤘🤘🤘
"I shall never make policy again."
"Lucien, you just did."
"Oh, the irony."
But really, Madeleine Kahn made this skit. How great she was, and what a loss.
I'd really like to go to Lucien & Fagan's antique shop.
Fop Shop.
LOVE the Fops! 💞
"Ive just redecorated my home in the style of the Navajo Indian"
"Oh how savage!"
I see what you did there.
These fops are not good with Kahnflict.
So many lines just lost on this stupid audience
Madeline Kahn is amazing
KAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!
This comment is accompanied by an option to translate it into English. Hilarious!
I forgot Madeline Kahn was on the show. She died too young! :-(
Madeline Kahn was beautiful and sexy even as the Bride of Frankenstein!
It’s twue!
I still can't believe she's gone!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
And look at that. No reading off of cue cards.
16/DEC/95 ..oh wow
Now imagine Fagan and Lucien on Star Trek! 😱
Lucien and Fagan are that special kind of cringe that practically shrivels a gal's ovaries.

Candy Slice is the rock star character that Gilda did. Available on the DVD Gilda Live. There is a CD also.
Oh lord this must be around 1995
I miss Madeline Kahn.
Madeline Kahn was so talented. I can't believe she died only 4 years after this skit. She was only 57 years old.
Tyranical Store Police Hahahaha thats a good one man
or policy

Lorne offered the whole KITH cast to come to SNL after they ended, only Mark took up the offer.
Kith isnt that funny
@@rilla46 You haven't seen the art class skit. Absolutely prophetic.
Madeline Kahn, a consummate professional that (unlike some) Christopher Walken) ) actually MEMORIZES her lines instead of staring off camera at cue cards!
Not a single eyeline looking at cue cards or teleprompters. So different from most SNL sketches. Such pros!
I used to hate this sketch but now I think it's pretty funny
Mr. Tyzik and Mr. Kind lol
Love the fact that Will Ferrell appears in a sketch with Madeleine Kahn
I wasn't even one when this clip was filmed and now I've turned 26 today.

True definition of simping.... 😂
This is so insane, but the audience isn't laughing, not one bit. It's so awkward. Absurdism is not a mainstream taste 🤷🏾♀️
41K views and 16 comments? Weird
so karens have been around forever i see.
I loved the customer's excuse "I could have come sooner but I didn't want to" 😄
wow! Madeline Kahn!

Be sure to see her on "Blazing Saddles."
...then how could you possibly not know the correct spelling of her name???
Was Kahn host(ess)ing? Otherwise it doesn't make sense that her entrance merited zero applause.
Things only get worse with 💰
The IT help desk
Is that Madeline Khan?
Omg lol when this video came out my mom was about 5and 1/2 months pregnant with me haha wow

The grunting was odd.
This skit would be too offensive today for lgbtq.
peculiarrrr LOL
Mean mean women
That may be the worst SNL skit ever.
This is how I view all gays.
Those two guys remind of our modern day snowflakes.
But Lucien and Fagan had better manners and a better fashion sense.
And they would never 'cancel' anyone.
Hilarious
how is this funny
Horrible woman.
