This is my moms account but im 16 years old. I have asthma and when i was 8 i had a major asthma attack at my cousins house at 2:00am and i couldnt find my inhaler. I prayed to God to help me remember where my inhaler was and right after that i remembered.,After that my Faith with God has gotten strongrr and stronger. Praise the king of glory!

on may 2nd, 1985, i was a 17 year old. i had just finished jogging and said goodbye to my mom as she was heading out the door to go shopping with her friend. after showering and getting dressed to go to work, i felt a huge compulsion to listen to this song. turns out that god was preparing me for my moms passing. three hours later, while i was at work, she suffered a massive heart attack. i know i will see her and others again.
Perfectly written and gratefully played at my beloved husband‘s celebration of life service of 8-5-23. Thank you Petra for this beautiful song which glorifies God and comforts His own on their journey home.
Never knew Petra...my sister randomly found the coloring song. I've known Jesus since 1989 (5 yrs old) but fell hard in my 20s into heroin...clean 12 yrs now! Jesus saves! My mother-in-law, a missionary, told me she used to listen to Petra as a young woman and see them in concert...I love hearing joyful praise! Amen, beautiful song.

Plus, I saw your January 2023 video. Why so much vulgarity? Nearly every other word, yet you speak of being in heaven when you die. No one with a mouth spewing out vulgarity and a heart full of anger and hate like that will be welcome in the gates of heaven. It won’t happen. I grew up listening to Petra & even after 40yrs this song still gives me goosebumps & brings tears to my eyes!

I had this played at my grandmother's funeral. She had no idea who Petra was but she knew Jesus and loved Him dearly. She trusted in Him and the power of His sacrifice to restore us to our holy Creator. This is such a powerful song highlighting the blessed hope that we have in Jesus!!

Phillip Barker - This song was played at my father's funeral almost a decade ago. It still makes me cry from missing him.
I have never doubted that one day I will see him again, healthy and whole, but it keep me from missing him. It's not wrong to miss your wife. You're missing your life with her, the good times and the bad that you would rather share with her and lean upon her for comfort. Knowing we will see them again is a comfort, not a cure, for the grief of their physical deaths.

This song has become the anthem for my life. God moved in me so powerfully through this song during the tragic loss of my brother when I was only 18. God met me in such a powerful way then that I have NEVER been the same. I am now working as a correctional officer at a prison and I boldly and loudly proclaim the gospel with no reservation. Jesus did not hold back in delivering us from sin and death and He won't hold back as He comes again in glory and power to steal us away! He held back NOTHING in order to save us. How can we give any less to see His gospel reach those He so dearly loves?

I only recently found your music 2 years ago when my parents gave me a copy of the Never Say Die Album for Christmas. Last year they gave me a copy of Captured in Time and Space where I found this beautiful piece. I look forward to looking for more of your work and your friends work. It's beautiful and I can actually listen to it without feeling like I'm forcing my self to. I love the sound that came out of the 70's and 80's where as my grandparents think the sound was "Demon Rock and Roll" I'm glad Someone was able to make a Marriage of Rock Music and Christian Praise.-Side note, I was born in 1994 so I can honestly say all the music I have grown up with is Crap. Hold onto Jesus with all that you have, and ask Jesus to hold onto you even when you can't hold on. Never walk away from God because he will never leave you nor forsake you. God wants you in Heaven with him, and also your husband is your forever brother in Christ. That is too precious to let go of. Praying for you.

The first Petra song I'd ever heard.
I lost my daughter Tiffany this weekend in a tragic car crash. She was only 20...She was so full of life, I will really miss her. It will take some time for her mother's heart and my heart to not feel broken, but this beautiful song by Petra does help. I really am looking forward to when death does finally die.

One of the most powerful lyrics by Bob Hartmann. A friend of mine worked in a Sunday school with little kids. One day she had a call and started weeping because the caller told her one of the kids that had cancer died. I had an mp3 player loaded with this album so I ran her this song. The last lines ("those who sleep will be awakened" etc. ending with powerful "there will be no pain, no sorrow") comforted her because she knew what it said and she thanked God for that song (and so did I).

I was attending the same church as John Schlitt at the time and when i told him that grave robber was one of the songs i wanted at my funeral he said he would sing it at my funeral if i wanted him too.

I had this album (on cassette) my freshman year of high school. I went to one of the few devout Christians I knew in school and asked her if she wanted it. She said sure but asked why I was giving it away. I told her it made me feel guilty. She said, "But that's what it's supposed to do!". Obviously, I wasn't living right at that time. She never said so, but I bet I was put on her prayer list that day. 😀
First time I heard this song was late 80's early90's...at a live concert just outside of Cleveland Ohio... cherished memory for sure
This song brings home the enormity of what Jesus truly did for us. For a believer, there is no death-of course death does not mean cessation of life-life will continue, either in Heaven or in Hell. But Jesus made a way for us to choose to go to Heaven. Believe and receive Jesus today!

A family member sang this at my dad's memorial. This song will always bring that to mind as well as of a wonderful dad who was a wonderful example of a Christian father and husband.
We played this at the burial of my dad's ashes today. He pastored a church for 30 yrs, was married to Mom for 44 yrs, and was a wonderful dad. He used to read these lyrics at burials! We played it as loud as we could and toasted him with some O'douls---his favorite treat. God bless both our dad's in heaven. Maybe they're friends right now.

I've always loved this song, but after my mother passed away in 2008 one day I was driving somewhere and put a Petra cd in & was driving and listening & this song took on a whole new meaning for me.

I know the pain is still fresh, when I lost my grandmother a couple of years ago, I felt like I went through hell because she was my anchor to God since I was a child but after pushing forward through the pain I have come to realize that she is up in Heaven and no longer in pain and that I will see her again. Meanwhile, I have good and bad days but when I begin to feel the struggle i try to close my eyes and look forward to our wonderful reunion and know that above all, God loves me and then I picture myself being wrapped by His huge arms and the Holy Spirit comforting me and I begin to settle down and sleep sweet. I will make sure to pray that you find the courage to push through and be victorious in Jesus!

I got to see PETRA at the Patriot Center in Virginia.They opened the show for the NEWSBOYS. Awesome message Awesome show. They shot lazers through stained glass windows into the audience. There were more unsaved than Christians at the show . In the middle of the show at altar call over 3,000 men and women went up to accept Christ

I remember a group of us young people going to Kalamazoo Michigan in 1985 to K Wing Stadium to see Petra in concert with Randy Stonehill. That was an awesome concert. Packed out stadium.
