    ive been inspired by your use of oil paints for ork skin. however, i want to use them as a shade that comes out more like the biel-tan-green of the eavy metal style. do you reckon that the sap green by winsor and newton would do the job? or what color would you recommend?

    I was always so intimidated by these figures but you make it so easy. I followed your steps for the Mephiston figure and it turned out nice. I'm trying to locate Mozrog but they're all sold out at the hobby shops i shop at. Also, question when it comes to applying metallic paints they need to be thinned, unless it's Vallejo Air metallics. When metallic paints are thinned the metal pigment begins to separate, and applying metallic paint straight from the pot/bottle doesn't work either because it's too thick. What do you do? Thank you again for the advice.

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  3 роки тому

      Cheers - i just add a touch of water and then keep remixing it if i need to stop any separation 👍🏻

      @@ThePaintingCoach thank you for the reply as always. The palette you use, is a wet one? I noticed you keep all your paints, metallic and regular on the same. Also is there another way of painting the "squig shark" with the mygos purple contrast without having to purchase mygos purple? like lahminan medium mixed with purple? i have a few contrast paints but those are ones i can use regularly, if i get mygos purple i think i will just use it once for this figure and then it'll sit and have zero use

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  3 роки тому

      Yeah I use a Redgrass Games wet palette - works great
      Yes you can really thin down some purple to get the same effect 👍🏻try with different purples though as magos is desaturated

    • @MF-kv8cn
      @MF-kv8cn 3 роки тому +1

      @@ThePaintingCoach ok cool. i have three citadel purples. also do you know if there is much difference between Biel tan green and ork flesh contrast? I see you use biel tan green over orruk flesh. i seen the warhammer paint videos and they use ork flesh contrast over orruk flesh. I'm just wondering if there is a difference. It's hard to decipher the visual aspect when i'm behind a computer. Plus all the camera lights change the actual color too i think.

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  3 роки тому

      The ork flesh is a lot more powerful than biel tan green so will need to be thinned a lot
