there are lots of English people who care about St. George's Day what a misleading title
What else would you expect from this channel?! ;-/
Are you special? There are lots that don’t too! Far more than the usual gobshites who do.

Very misleading - they don’t want us to care to be English so they can incorporate more diversity and inclusion bs
I certainly do, as England and its identity is fast becoming irrelevant , sadly

First thing they need to do is make it a bank holiday. Like everyone else does
If you need a bank holiday to care then you're not caring about st George's Day you're only caring about having a free day off...
@@McKluskie Yes, but working people can't really celebrate it unless they have the day off.
@@AlexanderTheEvenGreater Nobody is going to be celebrating St George's Day in the same way we don't really celebrate Jesus's birth or rebirth get a grip.
@@McKluskie We do celebrate Christmas and Easter; people often forget about what is actually commemorates, though.
@@AlexanderTheEvenGreaterYou are not celebrating Christmas and Easter you are celebrating having a few days off free of charge in the name of capitalism, Or are you suggesting you are a regular churchgoer?
People don't care because it's not a bank holiday, it's so simple. Make it a holiday and you'll see, just like St Andrew's in Scotland
In church we celebrate every year
Im in scotland mate none of us give a shit about that tbh 😂😂

Happy St George's day from Ireland.
Big numbers celebrate St George's day each year in Derby!
Most wear suits and red roses, the traditional pubs are packed and it's a great atmosphere. Roll on Tuesday 🏴🍺
Brilliant and us this on the Tuesday? 👏 🏴
Hear, hear ..... I'll be there, can't wait, it's still the only culture that really know how to party!😃
Red rose and a G&T for me. But it's typical of us English that we choose a flower that doesn't bloom this time of year!
@@EpicAelflaed Yes mate, it's happening today. Get yourself out in Derby! 🍺
Every year regardless what day it falls on it always seems to be busy. Some of the pubs have DJ's and bands on, the others play patriotic music 👍
I'm a Brit but at the moment living in Spain. St George is the saint of the area where I live (Aragon) and we have a province holiday on Tuesday because of it. Stick that up ya pipe....And yes you need a bank holiday for people to care.
Yes bribe them with a day off and some booze. It's the only way.
Care about what. It's an excuse for a piss up. Which shows absolute ignorance for the meaning of a Saint.
St george was roman

I wonder how many of those calling for everyone to honour Saint Georges Day would do so if they had to spend the day in church (from before sunrise), just as they did in Medieval England?
Celebrating a day named after a saint or any church related person is not really my cup of tea.
I would rather work towards ending all religion through reason and education.

Because its a crime to be open English in the UK.!

are you saying that If I tell a policeman on the street I'm English I'll be arrested? Wow! 😂
Look at these lefties giving you grief. 100% they voted Corbyn.
Actually yes that would be considered a hate crime. It’s all about intent. Just look at Scotland’s new hate crime law that’s destroying that country. Police are spending more time dealing with “hate” complaints and monitoring social media then actually tackling real crime.

St George the Martyr makes St Patrick look a complete lightweight if you know anything about it.
Not sure where these are from but it is still celebrated up North and have a look at Nottingham and Bolton. The only reason Paddy's day is celebrated is for the English to join the Irish getting pissed.

It’s because our own people and government shame us about the past etc so it’s time we took back OUR flag 🏴 and get out to celebrate it - no excuses for us anymore unless we are allowing more erosion of our identity as the population we have makes us the eventual and future minority in our own country

St George was actually Turkish .. born in Cappadocia .
He was Anatolian Greek in the 2nd century. He died a Christian martyr during the Diocletian persecution.
The Turkic people's didn't arrive in Anatolia until the 13th century. About 1000 years after.
That's the problem...they don't care and they should...ENGLISH AND PROUD

@inearlyboughtone.1851 very true mate...I'm telling this to my 12yr old all the time...but they just don't care.. I worry for the future...but it's what the higher people want, they wanna control the future generations
30% of Brits aren't English. There is going to be a big rally in London, there has been parades in London and around the country today, although the day is on the 23rd. My dog has already got his English flags on and the bunting is going up before the 23rd. I've noticed the England flag going up on houses in our area. Although I did see more for BREXIT.
That’s a big 70% that are then 🏴
@@EpicAelflaed Yes we are still 70% but that could increase very quickly to 50% unless immediate action is taken to rectify the matter of immigration. I'd ban all immigration for ten years to help the country to catch up with itself. Only allowing in for exceptional circumstances for what we require. The issue is that people just keep on flying in because we don't track them once they arrive in the country. The Telegraph is doing an investigation into it. One of their journalists went to a court hearing of cases, one of the women just flew in 17 years ago. It has been going on for decades. The British government doesn't have accurate population numbers, farmers told the media they're feeding 100M. Food stores say they're feeding 80M, sewage workers say it is 100M.
The pro lem is we got too corporate. The English need to re connect to their folk traditions and schools should encourage learning about tradition and history, instead of instilling in kids that this country is all evil
@@EpicAelflaedThe rest of the 70% also consists of Welsh, Scottish, and Irish. English people are genuinely near extinction levels.
The reason why is group parades tend to (guiding / scouting) happen on the closest Sunday same as Rememberance hope that helps and this is so majority of people are able to attend
“Why the English don’t care about Saint George’s day “ because we are called racist for being patriotic.
Part of the reason for this is that racists often hide behind patriotism to justify their hatred. Look at the embarrassing people we get online calling themselves English or British Patriots. I doubt most of them know the first thing about English history or culture, and they probably have zero interest in either.
You don’t hear people criticising other Countries who love their Country. But god help you if you love being English Irish , Scottish or Welsh.
I don't know about Wales and Scotland - but nobody criticises Ireland for celebrating St-Patricks day. Many English people celebrate it along side them and many English cities (particularly ones with a large Irish contingent - like Liverpool) put on events.
I celebrate St George’s proudly 🏴 but St Patrick’s day has a much better atmosphere tbh
Their plan is succeeding! It's alarming that so few people seem to care. Instead, they're engrossed in short TikTok videos, neglecting deeper engagement. It's baffling how, despite having access to vast amounts of information, we seem to be becoming less intelligent and literate. Perhaps that's the crux of the issue.
When i told an English man that Saint George never set foot in England he was devastated but i know exactly how he feels when someone told me Saint Patrick wasn't Irish
It’s common to see St George flags in working class areas of Notts all year round.
Nobody cares about their English grammar/spelling/punctuation either. But some of us do care! Happy St. George’s Day! ❤
Only the Scottish & Irish celebrate their Saints days because they can have an excuse to drink more and they have a stronger cultural fixation.
The Welsh used to celebrate St David's day mostly in the recent past or still do in mid/northern Wales. South Wales tends to have people who do amd people who don't celebrate, mostly it is the schools that teach about and keep the cultural aspects ongoing as activities in classes around St David's day and we get the tourists who want to try the outfits and eat welshcakes. The best think is seeing daffodils and leaks which sends out spring vibes and positivity in atmosphere. For us it is thankfully more family and poetry (Eisteddford) orientated rather than pubs and drinking.
I don't celebrate but it is a nice time of year for families, and pride/celebration of being Welsh due to the atmosphere of happiness, spring and family and food.
Happy St George's Day everyone. We'll be out raising a glass for St George later and will no doubt be told we're waycist, far right and all the other labels. Keep St George in my heart keep me English...
Happy St. George’s Day! ❤
And this is why , our country is Doomed, if only they knew...their lack of interest in our country, their country...they will suffer the consequences of their actions in years to come ..and boy they will know about it ..i really do feel sorry for these youngsters and even their children ...
I wounder how many dozens of people asked who said yes they will be celebrating St Georges Day?
I will be, Brian WEISS.
Happy Saint George’s Day!
It hasn’t been mentioned in schools for many many years. And is mentioned less and less on media. If it was a bank holiday to celebrate being English then peeps would get on board with it.
The generations coming up now know very little of it and why would they.
Real shame
You’re watching the wrong media.
Look somethings die out doesn’t mean you’re anti English. I understand some feel like they’re losing their identity but it’s just a bit dated I’m afraid. I mean St George wasn’t even English and never stepped foot in England, then he killed a dragon. I know it’s not now celebrated specifically for those reasons but you can understand how it might not resonate with many especially the young. Like Christmas, Easter, coronations etc. If it was a bank holiday it would be celebrated more I’ll give you that but many would do so in the same way they do these other events- without true sincerety. Just looking at some of comments also gives a clue of what turns alot of people off.
Is that 30 percent from down south because up north everyone i mean everyone celebrates it 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴💪💪💪💪💪💪💪

Yep, coming to celebrate being English and proud of my heritage, going to be be an epic day!

No English in London.
Interviewing a few people doesn't represent a whole nation.
Just another thing that’s English been taken from us .
And who took it from you 😂
Nobody is stopping you from worshipping any saint you choose.
You took it from yourself lol
You will find many UK people celebrate St George
He only asked young people who have never been taught in school about it so they wouldnt know my sons reaction would probably be the same. Anyone of my age group knows exactly who saint George was.
What they have done in Morley in Yorkshire was nice as they had a street march with a band which included lots of children cubs and scouts etc ive just been watching their recording on here. These children will grow up learning about our patron saint
We stopped celebrating it in the 1800's because we unified with Scotland
We unified with the Scot’s in 1707 Ireland was 1800s 🏴👍
The interest is on the rise, make no mistake. If all cultures can celebrate their identity then so can the English. We have taken our nationality and culture for granted for too long but now as it is under attack and other cultures are being emboldened to impose their traditions, via multiculturalism, there is a change coming. Nationalism was never relevant when I grew up, but England is a very different place today and so I see the St. George’s flag in a whole new light and significance and that is all down to the radical left trying to remove such identity. The rise in sentiment in English identity is entirely down to the actions of the looney left fawning over foreign cultures and demonising everything English. It has had the opposite effect. Times are a changing
Come to London, Westminster on St Georges Day, April 23rd. You will join many patriotic English in not only celebrating St George, but you will hear guest speakers and listen to live music celebrating our great English tradition and culture. This is about England and it's people, It's past, it's present and It's future. Time to stand up for your Country, your children and your children's children.
"England expects that every man will do his duty"
Lord Horatio Nelson
The government is stopping him
Celebrate, yet he doesn’t celebrate
Maybe stop asking complete simpletons. Half this lot will think the moon landing was fake.
Its Shakespeare's Birthday too.
Just shows peoples ignorance. The younger people should look back on english history and be thankful for the past because they wouldn't be living the life they are today.
The problem with England is that rapid demographic change has caused people to not care last census only 70% of people were English that number will go down every year as a foreigner living in England why would someone that isn’t English care about the history of England eg why would a Jamaican or an Indian care about the battle of Hastings or the Duke of Wellington people are tribal so when the native population becomes a minority which will be about 2040 why would anyone be surprised just for context in 1991 the native population of Britain was around 91% the demographic shift is remarkable in less than 30 years
True, England moves in and integrates those who choose to live here, who are also English or British as nationality has nothing to do with hereditary and never has.
You mention the battle of Hastings etc well frankly wtf!!?? Small nations like Ireland celebrate massively their patron saint despite it being utterly ridiculous, not because they are prouder but they are more insecure, especially as they speak our language, play the sports we invented and have most of our culture.
I'm very proud that we don't really celebrate St George's Day!!!
Everyone is descended from the same people! Nations are not genetic! And your argument about 'demographic' suggests all those who can't trace their ancestors to Elizabeth the first will have no loyalty and will be 'swamped' by those who just happen to live here .
It is utter nonsense and slightly triumphant, yet it is also completely racist! The English/Irish/French/Algerian/Spanish...never were or have been a 'race' they are countries! Populated by the people who make their lives there and as such the 'native' population is completely irrelevant!
@@jonathanpaylor6006Your first claim is ludicrous. Go move to India and see how easily you're accepted as Indian...lol

It should be a bank holiday. The complacent attitudes show they really don't have a clue as to what they are giving away. Life to them is one big piss up.

That’s all about what’s wrong with today’s younger people. Not all of them but most have no backbone all they’re interested in is social media, where can I get my next spliff and what would some do if they had to be conscripted!!!
Just shows you how crap our education system is
There are too many negative connotations of the St George’s flag and being English. It has in recent history been hijacked as a symbol of the far-right the English Defence League, football, skinheads from the 80s and the lower classes. Further back in history England represented domination, colonialism and slavery.
Unfortunately today patriotism for St George’s Day and England is tainted with racism and it doesn’t take long before the negative and often aggressive comments arise.
So the general public in England don’t want to be associated with this ‘patriotism’ because of what it represents.
It doesent represent that.
Its our national flag.
I agree. That's why generally people feel more comfortable with St. Patrick's Day celebrations, no negative connotations.

Lots of ignorance here. We need to do better at educating people into their national inheritance. Manh other countries do this very well but we've grown complacent.
I think it is a failure of parents not teaching their kids to be proud of the best bits of British culture..
I don't understand why they're scared of this but it is about time they restarted to be proud to be British..
Every other culture can proudly celebrate their yearly feasts, why can't the English do it too? Why are Christians not able too?
Why is there so much self hatred among woke leaning english people, its okay and actually a good thing to love your country.
Maybe it’s because the whole thing is based on a Turkish bloke who may or may not have existed and may or may not have slayed a dragon. It’s all nonsense that just perpetuates our Napoleon complex.

St Edmund was German and was only around for like 5 years. St Patrick was Romano British and Welsh made Saint by 7th century. Saint David made a Saint by 11th century why did England and Scotland take saints from the Middle East and make them theirs by the 13th century?
You should. Do you want the end of your country? My grandfather saw the horrors of Burma.
And he did it because he thought it would make the future better.
