I woud be very surprised if anything served in Tokyo Disney is actually not fresh. Japanese customers are very picky about fresh (often seasonal) food, and would not accept stale items. And Disney goes through an enormous amount of food daily, so items are not likely to go stale on the shelf awaiting sale. If something seemed "stale" it is likey the the flavor or preparation of the item is just not what you expected, and you are perceiving an unusual flavor or texture as staleness, when it is not.
There is a reason this is often known as the BEST Disney Park. People are pleasant and prices are 1/3 the price of the US which proves it CAN be done. LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about it. They could have easily raised prices like the US park but it seems they have not. I have no desire to go to a US park again after this experience and actually plan on visiting Shanghai in February.
I've found that my pallette greatly differs from DFB. I always take their opinion on what tastes good and bad with a grain of salt and take a look at the observations and images. I can guarantee this food probably wouldve tasted great to me.
In America, cheese sauce and Mac and Cheese are both very sharp and strongly flavored. But, in Japan, the preference is for a "Gratin", wich has noodles baked in a very mild but rich, white sauce, which tates only very lightly of cheese. Also, in Japan, you can get Western-style all-beef hamburgers at McDonalds, Burger King or Wendys. But most Japanese prefer a Japanese-style "Hamburg" which is made of a mixture of ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs and spices. It is felt that this is lighter, less oily and more interesting than a plain beef burger. So they are everywhere, in Dennys, convenience stores and Jspanese burger chains like MOSS Burger. Unsurprisingly, Disney in Japan users them too.
So this explains your disappointing "Cheeseburger". You had a Japanese-style burger with a Japanese-style cheese sauce. A Japanese customer probably would have gotten exactly what they expected and enjoyed it.
I find the food at Tokyo DisneyLand and DisnetySea to be unimpressive. It seems mostly designed to look cute and pretty, not necessarily to be filling or taste that great. However, the prices aren't too bad, and the decor is usually impressive. I wouldn't visit Tokyo Disney just for the food, though.
The pizzas at Ristorante di Canaletto were amazing during my visit, I never expected a theme park restaurant to use actual wood fire ovens or real mozarella. The red wine they served was miserable, though.
@@Lightice1 These wood-fired Italian pizza restaurants are very trendy in Tokyo now. My neighborhood actually has two or three of them. So I'm not surprised at all to find one n the "Venice" section of DisneySea.
Heads up, melon bread is just a name. It contains no melon or melon flavoring. Its called that due to its shape, there is however a slight sweetness to it.
There are some melon bread that do have melon flavor tho. They're more rare, but some bakeries have started thinking "ok but what if it also tasted of melon?"

This melon bread had cantaloupe filling which is a type of melon...maybe the bread was melon flavoured too?
The bone is supposed to mimio cartoon looking meat. You'll see lots of novelty Japanese restaurants do it.
Just returned from Disney Sea. Absolutely incredible park, but getting meals was very challenging. 30+ minute waits for all counter service options, while the kiosks had very limited options. Definitely recommend planning ahead and leaving plenty of time to acquire food before ride or show reservations.
I personally prefer Japan’s selection far more than the offerings at Orlando/California. Quality, lower prices and a much larger variety of options when it comes to snacks or full meals.
It all depends on personal tastes after all but I always feel so heavy or just underwhelmed by the tastes of the food in the US? Especially when most items are very high in costs.
I'm a HUGE Disney fan, fluent in Japanese, and I've lived in Japan just to preface this. The food at the Tokyo parks can be super hit and miss, so I don't think this video is being overcritical at all tbh. The food quality is better in Japan for sure, but that doesn't mean there is no bad food in Japan. There is a LOT of bad food out there unfortunately..
When I went to the Tokyo Disneyland park in 2023 I was actually pretty disappointed in the food tbh. The snacks and popcorn were awesome, but the meals fell flat compared to other parks like USJ. With that being said, food is SO SUBJECTIVE so to each their own! ❤

I was at Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea in 2005 and back then I must say the food was their weakest link in general. Glad to see that food now is their strong point as well. Hoping to plan a visit there again in the near future. Not to mention the other Asian parks.

So, once upon a time, Tomorrowland Terrace WAS Cosmic Rays at WDW. You could eat a meal and watch live bands on stage. In the early 90s, live bands were replaced by a big screen TV that played Goofy How To videos. Sonny Eclipse showed up for the 25th, and the Tomorrowland Terrace name was then given to that large area on the other side of Tomorrowland that has a ton of seating, but roped off all day because they don’t want to deal with cleaning it before the desert party later that night.
This is my wild guess as a Japanese about the bone in the croissant….’Manga meat/Anime meat’ is stereotypical fake meat for Japanese animations. They prob wanted to show Gaston’s masculinity and barbarism with the meat…? Still bizarre tho😅
aye. it made me think of a simulated turkey leg. but bone-in sausage pops up a LOT across japan. but does make it easy to eat a sausage without a bun or utensils.
It’s common to find sausages with bones in them, I forgot why exactly, it was either an aesthetic or they use it as a handle when eating.

i was in grandma sarah’s kitchen… yes they use the mobile order last time i was there a week ago, but… for some reason, they don’t have enough slots… so people end up lining up anyway. for some reason the mobile order area was so empty whilst my friends and i decided to take turns to go buy something since her baby was asleep. she went first and was still lining up an hour later!! they really need to open more slots for the mobile order so that it will even out… we were pretty shocked since we are regulars and never lined up for food for that long before…
I really like the food selection at the Crystal Palace! Bring it to the States.

Do you have a video talking about how much a japan disney vacations would cost? It seems like it would be super expensive, but in the Ordinary Adventures videos when they went to japan, all the food and merch was way more affordable. So now i think it might be cheaper than id think😂🤷♀️

Japanese food is so much better and healthier than American. We lived there for 3 years. I don't understand why this video is downplaying how good and clean the restaurants are. These parks are 100 times better than in America. I'm so dissapointed DFB missed all of that 😢 Customer service is also miles above anything else!
The point was about the food and how it tasted, not about the other things you mentioned. While they may be true, that doesn’t make the food taste better.
I found it frustrating how often she would talk about the non-Japanese foods. Like at plasmas rays (or whatever it was called); there were so many other unique food selections to review and she chose chicken fingers??!!

The food in the American parks are much better than in DLP. And not so much choice here. We have ap since 2011 for DLP. And when we went to WDW the first time in 2013, we were surprised about the food.

How does the mobile ordering actually work? It’s just effectively take away? Or does it reserve a seat as well at the diners like Vulcania?
(Vulcania is our goto place in Disneysea as well. It use to be American food but then they changed it to Japanese/Chinese food).
It just lets you skip the standby line at counter service restaurants, you'll still be able to grab a seat wherever you spot one

It needs to be said that the annoying soda addiction made so finding out which JAPANESE drinks were there, like milk tea, tea or anything else...wasn't offerered. and the incorrect ways of saying the food was twitch triggering. but otherwise this shows the food is pretty sub standard

@DFBGuide CREW!! i honestly don't see anything wrong wit this video. but if people are complaining about length, i'm guessing breaking this up by Resort and/or their Lands or types of food (i.e. sweet vid, savoruy vid) or types of food service. ... but in all honesty. the vid's title DOES say "EVERYTHING" ... and ya'll DO COVER EVEEEEEEEERYTHING ;') .... sidenote: would be cool if ya'll can do a Disney Coca Cola video across all Disney Lands and Worlds -- like what's available, what isn't; what are regional or contenental specialty flavours.

They have a Ratatouille restaurant that is designed like you are one of the rats. All the furniture looks like it was built out of something else.
If you think the food at Tokyo Disney isn’t leagues ahead of what we have in the US, you’re just wrong. It’s okay to be wrong, but don’t forget that you are in fact wrong.
Any idea how they would handle food allergies? I really want to go but need to make sure I’ll be able to eat safely.
I’m curious about this too. I do a fair bit of traveling and end up bringing shelf stable snacks I know I can eat. There are some trips where I survive on protein bars and rice particularly if there is a language barrier. I do try to learn how to say “no” and then wherever my allergen is in the most common language of the countries where I am traveling but even then it can be difficult to be sure they understood the need.

A lot of American UA-camrs seem to criticize the counter-service food available at Tokyo Disney Resort especially their burgers and pizza. However, the majority of those food offerings are beloved by the parks' primary audience, the Japanese. If you, Americans, don't like them, it's because they are not made or catered to your taste. You would see a lot of Japanese Disney fans get disappointed or utterly disgusted by how nasty, greasy, and overly sweet or gigantic the food at your parks in Orange County, CA and Orlando, Florida are. Do we, Japanese, go on UA-cam and criticize your food then? No. we do not because it's not our place to critique your parks. I kindly ask you to do the same and know where you stand; Tokyo Disney is not your resort. Also, do not be or try to be American in Japan; you will just stick out and get hammered down or disappointed.
I do not know the name of woman who narrates all these DFB clips, but I was kind of enjoying listening her, but I wonder why she became so critical about every details like freshness, vibes something like that. She hardly mentions good complimnets as much as she does with U.S. Disneyland / Disneyworld. I am afraid she is one of those people who think they can say anything without proper manners and devalue anything if things are from Asia. Sucks.
