Aircraft specialty and spruce are the go-tos for different Dzus Fasteners and Aircraft Parts. they had a tach drive cable and cap for my old school cable-driven Distributor Moroso tach I think they have the depth you need I had to use 650 depth for my five-star body.

I felt the same way about my car. But from my early years I have experience that tells me we need to cut our hoods ! I’m 60 and I’ve been racing since 20. My hood has a big heat extractor by the radiator and above each front tire. Apparently it worked so well I couldn’t get the engine at speed to be rich enough. So I installed 2 NACA Ducts which are low pressure air inlets. I didn’t want to ram the air in the carb I just wanted nice cool air. The NACA Ducts had a place to put a hose on them so I ran aluminum tubing to both of them and now I can tune my carb to the correct AFR. I cut the holes with a cool attachment for a Dremel tool that worked great. Oh I’m a retired welder of 30 years so welding the aluminum tube was no problem. Hey love the Ford buddy, Be safe.
Great video as usual my man great idea with the socket im def using that idea on my deck lid , and if it were my car i dont think i would cut the hood but do what u want to do its your car and it is beautiful ive been watching you from the beginning of your UA-cam life lol but i really enjoy your channel its super beneficial for tips for th diy guy or girl keep doing what your doing your helping a lot of people and you always answer my questions and that alone is awesome so thank you for that
@ThePaintPaperHustle absolutely my man its the least I could do for the help you have givin me on my project, love the channel keep grinding im looking forward to seeing you back on the track
Awesome video sir. Don’t cut the hood man. I actually been thinking about putting a fender on the supra and run the exhaust out just my .02. Thanks for the content
as much as i love a fast hot rod with a flat, "stock" hood, its a race car, the cold air will have a benifit. i know you wont just bust out the hole saw and hack a hole in your brand new hood, like TJ would do, lol😁.
You definitely need to get fresh air to procharger . Maybe try it with no hole and send some data logs to Kevin . Is there a way to route an intake to the front grill area ?
No way to really route an intake due to how the procharger sits and that downward chassis bar that’s get in the way. We thought about trying it with hood on just to see what the IATs looked like
@@ThePaintPaperHustle ya I figured but thought maybe going below procharger . I would try it out and log it and see what Kevin says . Your definitely gonna have an issue when you start pushing the car . It’s hard with that mounting style procharger . Even if you figure out an intake tube to not pull hot air the longer it is the more it will kill power .
I'd leave the hood. Mike's green dodge isn't having issues .asking power, so I would bother. If I did anything, I'd put in 2 NACA ducts, to let the engine compartment breath better and keep the pressure out, which will push up on the hood, especially when having the fender wells out. Might have been a contributing factor to why the last hood blew off.
I can't tell if you filled the cowl vents next to the windshield. That's where I would pull air from. Go right in the firewall and pull air from there. Actually it looks too crowded in that area.
You ask for input... the top of the car that you seem to like so much by comparing it to a vinyl top really DOES NOT look good AT ALL... When it was shiny black it popped and looked really good.. imo you killed the look of the car 60% or more.. you really need to paint it back gloss black and cut the hole in the hood.. both to make it look bad ass again..

Interesting thanks for that info

Man thanks a ton for that ❤️
Courtney that thing looks so clean with not cutting the hood if it was me I wouldn’t do it man
Thanks buddy I agree
I felt the same way about my car.

Hey love the Ford buddy, Be safe.
That’s very good information thank you
I drive the ball left in the rivet out with a punch and smash the rivet flatter to help the fit.
Thanks for that trick
Looking whole again 👍
💪🏻
Cool 😎 .
💪🏻
No hole just install a K&N filter like the dodge it won’t cost enough hp for you to know it. The hood looks great! Another great video my man 👊🏻
I can’t fit a filter due to the chassis down bar
Cool air =more horsepower ,, but it is your car love the new top by the way .
Thanks a ton for that feedback. I agree with the cool air
Just go ahead and do it, it's gonna hurt but ya gotta do what ya gotta do, break out the hole saw
Lol thanks. I ain’t scared to cut it. I do like the clean look though
Car looks really good No hold but Need cool air
Yea that’s the issue
Great video as usual my man great idea with the socket im def using that idea on my deck lid , and if it were my car i dont think i would cut the hood but do what u want to do its your car and it is beautiful ive been watching you from the beginning of your UA-cam life lol but i really enjoy your channel its super beneficial for tips for th diy guy or girl keep doing what your doing your helping a lot of people and you always answer my questions and that alone is awesome so thank you for that
Man thanks a ton for them kind words. I kinda don’t want to cut the hood this time so I’ll probably change up the intake
@ThePaintPaperHustle absolutely my man its the least I could do for the help you have givin me on my project, love the channel keep grinding im looking forward to seeing you back on the track
💯
Hey buddy, the car is looking good. To bad the intake tube isn’t closer to the firewall, you could run it up threw the cawl.
Yea that would be awesome
Awesome video sir. Don’t cut the hood man. I actually been thinking about putting a fender on the supra and run the exhaust out just my .02. Thanks for the content
Thanks man yea I kinda don’t want to cut it this time

lol yea I actually ordered something for it the other night
That would be a tough thing cutting the hood . Maybe wait and see how the iat's are before you do it.
That’s a good point
No hole other ways look so clean with out run a pipe up to grill area
Can’t get a pipe anywhere but up due to the downward chassis bar this pipes built around.
You definitely need to get fresh air to procharger . Maybe try it with no hole and send some data logs to Kevin . Is there a way to route an intake to the front grill area ?

You’re 100% right
Another great video I love watching you. I have learned a lot. Please don't cut the hood That's just my opinion, great job.
Thanks man!

You’re correct. I also think the added chin spoiler helped that hood blow off
@@ThePaintPaperHustle Could do one NACA duct for procharger inlet and matching one on other side, to be proportionate and let some pressure out.
Yes that’s what I really wanna do but can’t stomach the prices of the decent sized ones
Function over form. Yes cut it or get thecold air from somewhere. Does look good ad is but it will suffer I think
Thanks for feedback
Don’t cut the hood just put a filter on the intake side of the pro charger under the hood. Like the green challenger has.
Can’t put a filter on it due to the downward chassis bar that runs through that inlet pipe
Also can you come out of the charger with a 180 degree pipe around the shock back towards the front of the car to catch cold air around the bumper?
I can’t bc that chassis bar gets in the way
Get the hole saw out.. lol . How did the rivet work?...
Man the rivet gun works so amazing thank you so much!
Put the scope on it and make it functional
Scope on the hood?
Make get air from the front of the grill
Yea and a ton flows through there
I wouldn’t cut the hood the car is beautiful
Yea I think we gonna not cut it
At the end of the day it’s a race car right, cut the hood, that blower intake is really close to that exh manifold.
Good point
I would get a turbo guard screen for your Procharger inlet and keep the hood looking clean! You’ll regret cutting it!
A turbo guard won’t fit due to down tube of chassis
Hood looks but would love to have seen carbon hood on it before u cut it up
Yea carbon would of been cool
can you make it so it pulls air in from your cowl
Not really practical due to location of everything. That down bar gets in the way
Do a fake hood tach for your blower air inlet
Not sure I follow….
Awesome work on the race hood, looking great. Just ditch the ugly ass charger elbow n put on a wire mesh screen.
Dirt from tire will still go through the elbow. I’d love to do that
I can't tell if you filled the cowl vents next to the windshield. That's where I would pull air from. Go right in the firewall and pull air from there.
Actually it looks too crowded in that area.
Yes I’d love to do that but can’t get a pipe anywhere but up due to the downward chassis bar that this pipe is built around
No hole!
Thanks
Take pipe off put cold air filter back of pro charger
Can’t there’s a chassis bar in the way
I know you don’t want to but cool air = more fuel which = more power
Yea I agree. I don’t wanna hurt performance
Just cut the hole in the hood I’m sure it will look and come out sick
That’s how we had it before
Cut it. It's a racecar. I'm sure a different streetcar/show car is in your future. !! The car still looks awesome !!!
Thanks man!
Just put a air filter on it
Won’t fit due to chassis down bar. That pipe was specifically made for that car bc of that issue
Don't cut it?
Thanks that’s the way I’m leaning
No hole in hood
Thanks for the feedback
Don’t cut it! Just put a filter on the pro charger.
Can’t fit a filter due to the chassis down bar
What about just a screen?
Yes a screen would work to keep rocks out but sand and dirt could still be kicked up into there
No hole
Thanks
No no no hole
Thanks for the feedback.
If it were my car I would not cut the hood it looks to clean.
Yea I kinda don’t want to
Cut the hood heat kill horse power
Yea that’s true
its just a racecar
Oh I know
DO NOT CUT THAT HOOD!! No need for it at all
Yea I kinda don’t want to
You ask for input... the top of the car that you seem to like so much by comparing it to a vinyl top really DOES NOT look good AT ALL...
When it was shiny black it popped and looked really good.. imo you killed the look of the car 60% or more.. you really need to paint it back gloss black and cut the hole in the hood.. both to make it look bad ass again..
Thanks a ton for the feedback. I try to listen to what majority of people think and go off what I like and then make a decision.
